  1. As for the Republic side: 20-30 daytime 60-80 peak hours With a tank and a healer ready, it takes an hour to find two dps for hard-modes.
  2. People want it to be successful in the bottom of their hearts and while they are frustrated with how things are, they still manage to have a faint ember of hope holding out until the day the game comes out of beta.
  3. Was watching this trailer clip and suddenly did a double take at the 0:57 mark: http://www.screenjunkies.com/video/honest-trailer-phantom-menace-3d/
  4. I just turn on shield converter and take out the trash.
  5. It's an asymptotic cap (see asymptote). Simply stated, the surge amount is based on a curved line which allows you to gain surge percent quickly at lower amounts but very slowly as the surge percent reaches 30%. They tweaked the whole curve as a result of bringing it down from 50%.
  6. Just to clear a few things up: There were diminishing returns before The asymptotic cap was 50% (beyond the 50% base) The new asymptotic cap is 30% (beyond the base) The notes indicated a "10%" decrease per invested point in surge If you look at the original poster's numbers, the contribution from from surge rating has decreased from 42.8% to 24%. This denotes a (1-.24/.428) ~35% decrease in contribution value for his current build from 1.1.2.
  7. "10%" per point... Overall they decreased the asymptotic cap from 50% to 30% which is roughly a 30%-40% nerf depending on surge ratings.
  8. I don't see much of a reason to stay subscribed after D3 launches.
  9. Throwing in a rather harsh opinion: It's about as exciting as banging your head against the wall. I also heard some rumor about it being against the Geneva convention, something about inhumane torture (maybe not that bad). All humor put aside I felt that from beginning to end almost each chain was about finding a single person/object/archive/treaty per planet. This meant that each individual quest on a planet was about storming a random bunker/cave/facility/archive only to find you "just missed" your target (princess is in another castle). Rinsed and repeated "barely missing your mark" about six times until catching up at the end of that planet. All chapters used this style of progression and in comparison to other classes, the whole shebang ended on a whimper. The plot moved at a snail's pace the majority of the time and jumped forwards exponentially at the end of each chapter, with exception to the third. Any big revelations were very predictable. Lastly, unlike the other arch-types, the conversations are dull and lacking any hint of entertainment to illuminate the way. In other words... good luck.
  10. The biggest change I can think of is not having any cast-times to worry about, everything is instant and mobile.
  11. There are some ups and downs with the proposed changes when it comes to the class overall. That being said I think that the reason for these changes is that so many people were going for hybrid specs and foregoing the 31-point talents because these specs were simply more fun to play. Bioware in seeing so many skipping the 31-pointers is stepping in, stopping hybrid builds, taking choices out of player's hands, and practically telling users exactly how to play the class. These changes are not a nerf to damage, rather a huge nerf to the "fun factor" people saw in the class.
  12. I do agree with the original post. In most mmo's someone will reach the level cap, do top level dungeons to gear up, graduate to hard modes to gear up more, then hop into ops. What I have noticed in ToR is that players can almost completely skip (and are encouraged to skip) over level 50 content and hard modes to pvp and jump cold into ops. Ops and pvp are a far more profitable way to obtain high level gear which completely overshadows the horrendously disproportionate hard mode grind for sub-par badge gear. In short, Bioware made it too easy to jump ahead to high tiers of gear which caused a huge portion of repeatable end-game content to be obsolete the moment a player reaches 50.
  13. Very curious about this stat when it is over 100%. The game itself states that any accuracy over 100% lowers the "defense" of the target which is explained as lowering dodge/parry/resist rates. However there have been rumors of it lowering armor values once over 105%. Can anyone confirm this?
