  1. So postponing an announcement about an expansion is somehow diminishing the value of what you purchased? I have had an active subscription since launch as well, and have my fancy yellow-black preorder crystal as well. I think I get what I pay my $15 a month for. If that ever changed, I would stop paying it. What I would not do is harass 2 women trying to do their job, and then try to justify it as being acceptable adult behavior.
  2. Except what's most likely to happen is "hey, there were a bunch of jerks who harassed two women doing something fun to try to increase community engagement. What a PR nightmare considering how heavily harassing women on line is being covered in news outlets right now. Obviously this was a bad idea, so we should stop." And this is why we can't have nice things.
  3. I agree. To me it's more than a little frightening when people are talking "civil disobedience" and "protests" like we are talking about going to war, or rationing food, or something equally severe. These are the same people mentioning that harassing and threatening two community outreach employees is somehow justified. It is a game. Absolutely nothing that happens in, around, or as a consequence of a video game deserves this kind of reaction. If you believe otherwise, maybe you need to step back and take a break.
  4. Because I don't like similar skills on multiple classes, I was kicking around the idea of a "mutually assured destruction" style cooldown. Something like: "Inflicts back all damage received to enemies within melee range for 6 seconds." In other words you still take damage, but you reflect it back on the player hitting you within melee range. Kind of a "go ahead and kill me, but I'll take you with me" sort of skill. Might make us a less appealing target.
  5. There is a world of difference between a "premade" PvP group full of dedicated players in an optimum composition and the average group of friends or guildies who just group up to enjoy a few rounds of PvP together. Most groups that queue for regs are the latter, and have very little specific advantage over pugs. They aren't grouping to screw the pugs, they are queueing to enjoy a few warzones together. Since they are not a PvP "premade" they would get stomped by the dedicated "premades" in a group queue, and so choose to queue for regs. If you remove the ability for groups to queue for regs, you eliminate this group of players from PvP, and it is a sizable percentage of PvPers. With complaints about population size already, do you really want to push these players out?
  6. So many posters keep saying "what are you so afraid of if you can't queue with a group? Are you afraid you're bad?" As good as a post like that must make you feel, here's another perspective to consider. I PvP for fun. I solo queue when none of my guildies want to queue up, and I queue in groups when they do, regardless of their skill. I also enjoy grouping with guildies and teaching them the basics of PvP (don't fight off node, don't stand still while an operative stabs you in the back, etc.) so they can enjoy PvP, queue more often, and shorten queue times. What am I afraid of if I can't queue in groups? Simple. I'm afraid PvP will all but die in the game. Playing with friends lowers the fear factor of running your first warzone. Playing in groups generally means players queue more often, which keeps queue times down. Having friends who want to PvP together gets players to queue when they may not otherwise do so. You remove this option, and you'll significantly reduce the number of players queueing for warzones. Haven't you ever wondered why Ranked PvP is a ghost town? That's right, because you can't queue in groups. tl/dr: Preventing groups from queueing for warzones will kill PvP, just like it killed Ranked.
  7. Oh dear sweet God NO!!! The Teams of Stunlocking Operatives have been necroed. Now they are Zombie Teams of Stunlocking Operatives! I have been unsubbed from beyond the grave!
  8. I saw this on both the male and female agent. I just assumed that when the agent pronounced it incorrectly, the agent was making fun of the person who said it. Imperial Agent story is full of wit, so I figured this was just more of it. Besides, the way the female agent says "le-gah-tay" sounds fairly mocking.
  9. Am I allowed to post if I disagree with this? Oh, wait... I did... I think the F2P rules in this game are fair. It gives you a chance to play the game to 50, try out almost everything, and see if it is a game you'd like to play. If it is, then you are encouraged by the restrictions to pay for the game. If you don't think the game is worth paying for, don't pay, and play with the restrictions. I don't really see the downside. It actually reminds me of the old "shareware" game trials from the DOS days.
  10. I'm just happy when the tank guards ANYONE. While healing, I rarely ever see the guard icon on anyone, at any time. First get people to actually use the skill, then complain about how they use it.
  11. I have to be honest with you, whenever I make someone so mad in a WZ that they target me explicitly for the rest of the match, I take it as a compliment. If the other player outclasses me in skill, level, or gear and is able to trash me the rest of the match I feel it is an even bigger compliment. It's PvP, so it's my job to take members of the other team out of the match however I can. If he is focusing on me, he is not playing objectives, which I feel means success for me. If he is trashing me, it means he is not trashing everyone else. Taking a lvl 49 completely out of play in a <50 PvP match is about the best thing you could possibly do for your team, so I say good job!
  12. Yo dawg /stuck is fine lern to play i /stuck you because im kung fu masta marauder since day 1 yo dawg l2p noobzzzz lol cry moar PS I don't play a marauder, but figured it was gonna happen some time, better get it out of the way. Along with: Nerfing Operatives will fix the /stuck exploit.
  13. Nope. Currently, the only 2 ways in game to get your name changed are: 1. If it is reported as against the ToS 2. If you transfer to a server where the name is already taken.
  14. Subscribed. Posting mostly to give you a bump. (Although I can always hope it increases my odds for the Naga)
  15. I mostly agree with the majority of this thread. You will be judged by your name, maturity level of the name tends to reflect the player's maturity, and ripoff names are annoying. Although I personally prefer names that seem like names, sometimes I have to appreciate the cleverness and sometimes dedication some players have to a joke or pun. For example, I saw "Brita Water the Pure." Although not a name and possibly a violation of the ToS, I had to appreciate the dedication to hit Light 5 and get the legacy Water just to complete a pun.
  16. I think the issue with guard is how many people think of it as a "set and forget" sort of skill. It's WAY more useful if you are paying attention and switching it dependent on situation, IMO. I'll guard a healer by default, then swap it over to a DPS if someone is consistently pulling aggro. Certain fights other DPS might pull more, or the healer may genuinely need it in the fight. On fights that trade aggro, I sometimes even put it on the other tank when I pull. Keeping an eye on what's going on gets me much more mileage from the skill.
  17. Don't worry. As soon as they discover Cybertech makes something people would actually buy, they'll give the recipes to Armormech, Armstech, and Synthweaving, and remove them from Cybertech.
  18. Why stop at Advanced Class? I want to change my class! It's unfair to make me stay the class I rolled. Oh, and I should be able to change my race as well. It's not fair to make me keep that either! I should also be able to change factions. Or my Name, Legacy Name, or even gender! I should also be allowed to re-allocate DS/LS points at will. And don't get me started on facial features and eye color! Oh, and if I buy gear, especially with comms, I should be allowed to trade it in at any time. I mean, really? How is it fair that Bioware would ever force me to make a decision I can't undo on a character?
  19. I don't think it's fair that level 50 players have higher stats and more skills. You shouldn't have to grind levels 1-49 to be level 50! Seriously, Bioware! You need to give me a "Level to 50 button!" I also don't think it's fair that people who spend time earning credits are able to have more legacy perks and fancy equipment than I have. I also don't think it's fair that better players are able to kill me in PVP. Nerf their skill!!! I should always win, and have everything everyone else has with no effort. PS Nerf teams of stunlocking operatives, too.
  20. From other people I've talked to, this is an issue with Boot Camp. I do not believe there is a fix for it, unfortunately.
  21. KOTOR 2 would take place approximately 300 years before the game. http://www.swtor.com/holonet/galactic-history
  22. I'm not sure, but I believe what the OP is saying is that he'd like to port his old WoW characters over to SW:TOR? I am still wondering after reading his post history why he isn't playing the game he was obviously happier with.
