  1. The problem is that if enough enough people report this guy he will likely suffer from it anyway... And there are so many ways they can word the complaint. It's why I suggest he write his own ticket regarding the issue and pre-cover his butt.
  2. This is a downright stupid metagaming abuse. You are doing what you are supposed to be doing on Illium per the designers plans for factional warfare. File your own customer service ticket. Perhaps, an early death star prototype really is needed. The planet might as well be removed from the game.
  3. OP, you describe the MMO experience you want while ignoring what SWTOR really is. This game is a PVE theme park for “casual players” interested in the intellectual property with a PVP option as simply one of the attractions amongst the various rides. This isn’t a game for the want to be L337, the PVP is a grindy little play ground with dishonest scoring to keep everyone feeling good. It’s not meant to hold your interest as you have outgrown the market audience. Step back and look at the loot oriented mechanics, crafting, all the other features, and ask yourself if this is really targeted at the mature player or to the young? While they likely intend to support the game for a long time the average MMO player only sticks around for a few months before moving on to the next big thing anyway. Enjoy it for what it is, for the time you can, and understand few games have lasting appeal anymore before moving on.

    How are they doing it?

Hmmm.... It seems Bioware was prepared for most things aside from what their actual players would do to cheat actually having to play the game they pay for. This is a sad reflection on us and upon the corporate optimisim. Clearly, what the players were doing is an exploit. They abused a game mechanic in an unintended way to keep from "losing." It should be stopped and I hope you wrote a support ticket regarding this issue.
  5. OP... you should be able to figure out that it's just a "legacy name!" Those ancient aliens left us with cannoli too.
  6. I have come to think of it as simply there for a new player quest designed to encourage people used to PVE to take a chance on entering a PVP zone for the first time and perhaps become interested in trying it out.
  7. Why would I ever play a butt ugly emo goth with a skin rash and bad case of static cling? There are simply some fantasy trips I DONT WANT.
  8. You leave my troopers alone... a gunnery commando is the least mobile and arguably the least viable PVP spec in the game as it stands right now. They can shoot from a sitting position for solid DPS but are easily interupted, countered, and lack PVP flexibility. Go nerf somebody else like that hutt ball announcer.
  9. On my server, I was able to do all the four man heroics through Nar Shadda on the Republic side without issue. However, there are fewer people playing on each subsequent world. I’ve gotten lucky and done some since then but not all. Many runs have been with non-standard trinity groups. It has been even harder to get some of the upper tier flashpoint groups together. I have not been in one since Mandalorian Raiders. I will note that I have gone back to Taris, to help a friend do some planetary heroics while leveling since at this time they have had trouble getting groups.

    Game Dying already?

At the moment, I am not sure anyone outside of Bioware / EA really has an accurate means of judging the actual player population. Considering that the free month is now up for most players, it's no surprise to see lower numbers online. The only real and accurate sense we can get for the game's "health" as a whole will be in watching what the companies do. Will there be a major price drop here in a week for the digital editions? That would be the first sign of a lack of subscriber retentions like with Rift where the collector's and standard editons were suddenly offered for a third of the launch price. Geesh how ripped off I felt...
  11. Uhm.. Used to. But now there are SO many healers in war zones lately that its hard to tell who is being pocket healed and who is just there too.
  12. Yes it's stupid, unfair, and unfun as currently implimented and far too grindy for a modern MMO. Dare I say, SWTOR is a few steps away from being an Asian mmo clone and I am just waiting on the item cash shop a few months from now where you can skip the bag grind for $5.95 per wookie token? lol I think my biggest problem with it is that gear wasn't supposed to be so overwhelmingly important to preformance and instead it feels like a primary determining factor in play. This isn't a high skill game but come on...
  13. Happened to me too. Though in one case I am trying to figure out how they got past a force field into the last chamber before any console was hacked.
  14. To be fair, Bioware gives players their first PVP quest at L10 and encourages people to involve themselves with it as early as possible. I am not going to blame some new player for entering the war zone to try it out. I am not going to blame some low level guy or gal that wants to PVP at low level or not. It's their sub fee and their fun to have too. This problem could be fixed by level brackets for war zones. However, with the current shard (server) system in place brackets are simply not practical at the moment as the populations are not high enough to support them without implimenting cross server warzones. That's supposedly in future plans but time will tell. Really, one has to wonder why they didn't impliment cross server features from the get go. They cloned so much from WOW but seemingly learned little from the problems WOW had to solve along the way. As it stands, blame the company for a sucky PVP system. Not the players trying to enjoy it. You know... trying to... O.O

    Slippery Slope

Obviously, what occurred on Illium was not what the design team expected. The problem is that it appears the company is looking to punish players for not participating in the game “the way they desire” when those players are paying money to “play as they desire.” To be honest, the problem would not have occurred with better thought out mechanics for Illium from the design staff that is outraged. It’s a good example of meta-gaming cross faction and an insight into what players of games really want. The cross faction warfare that was expected for this game is suddenly not a given fact in anyone’s mind. I am not sure this can be changed without compromises that would ruin the fun of playing. Should those players be punished for what occurred on Illium? I lean toward no, simply change the mechanics and redesign Illium while warning customers that this will not be tolerated in the future. They will need to invent better reasons to fight each other rather than cooperate in game. For the record, I have NOT been part of any exploitation of Illium.
  16. Of all things I play on an RP server and the PVP WZ ques are very active. I typically play 5 - 10 warzones every morning and could go more. They are notably slower to pop since the 50 bracket was added and I don't know how fast they pop for the 50s right now through out the day. I know that Bioware has stated cross server WZs are in their future plans just not their near future plans. Outside of mergers that's the only hope for some people on low population servers to get their play fix.
  17. I guess it depends on why you PVP? SWTOR has a very casual friendly PVP system that manages to be fun for most people. That’s all it is and why people will continue to play. It’s not an e-sport requiring L337 skillz or a thing to be taken with too much seriousness. It obviously wasn't designed that way… There are a lot of ANNOYING things in the game’s current PVP system and if I were looking at it as a real competition I’d throw a fit too. Yet, I still play and others will too because it’s just a fun little game to while the hours away with. Don’t try to turn it into something it isn’t.
  18. Before this cost change, I had been able to afford to use PVP commendations to equip my companion characters as well as myself with solid gear while leveling. I am not sure that's as true now. I wonder if this change is an ill thought attempt to make crafting skills more valuable and useful outside of biochem and perhaps infuse more life into the GTN?
  19. Because there is no need OP. Bioware has their own system that's very SW movie like for space combat and while there is room for improvement it's fine for what it is. I actually like it as an arcade-y and cinematic diversion from questing, flashpoints, and PVP on occasion just as it is right now. This game just wasn’t meant for sim like space fights. It’s a casual theme park MMO for SW fans.
  20. I was actually sitting here thinking about rolling a consular and then I saw that jpeg with the white robe and headress thingie. ROFLMAO! Thank you for saving me from er... that. I am sincere.
  21. If people were not complaining I would know that there was actually something wrong with the game.
  22. No. Its a bad idea. Frankly, it's a shame we can't just get a group of community volunteers to serve as referees to handle bots /afk/ exploiters etc. They would have to be watched too but its more workable.
  23. Just quitting takes all the fun out of things. Revenge is better therapy. Alts are easy to make and if you know the enemies play times its a simple hunt. Remember that we aren't talking about skill. If we were we would be talking about premade against premade. We're talking about dealing with thugs no one wants that are always one step shy of getting banned via reporting.
  24. Maybe later. I need coffee for now.
  25. I am just your ordinary, nice guy that wants to play in peace and have a fun, competitive, brawl with my random fellow pug gamer, and not just win. It’s nice but it’s not everything alone. The play is the thing. If it’s not a competitive match I don’t care for said match. You understand?I have nothing against a group of friends that want to play the game together. I don’t mind a competitive bunch looking for a fight. But, you see there are premades and there are premades and I am sick of a certain kind of premade… There is this trend for groups that can’t cut it, to move over to your typical PVE or RP server so that they can mow down the average, random, under-geared, Joe and Jane gamer in a warzone to feel good about themselves without real competition. They are little more than electronic bullies typing NOOB and worse in say throughout a match. What do you do when an elitist bunch of jerks walk into YOUR PUG, claim they are so leet, you must do as they say, don’t mess up “THEIR WARZONE” cause it’s all your fault, and proceed to sap all the fun from the game for everyone else playing on the same side and the other too? You know them. They vent for PUGs, they have all the loot and stims, play only the supposed OP classes they can exploit, and turn what should have been a knuckle biting 15 minute hutt ball match into a two minute snooze where they score 6. They use the other PUG players to soak damage and get killed in the civil war so they can snipe kills and end the match looking undefeated with a big number. Then stand there and say they are good while their own team mates feel shafted and the other team like they have just wasted too much time for nothing. I am tired of turning the other cheek and sick of seeing good competitive solo qued pickup games ruined by idiots that have forgotten why people play and take the fun out of gaming for everyone else on the field for the worst of selfish reasons... I don’t want to become them. Just remove the fun for them. So, I humbly ask your advice. How do I ruin their day so badly they don’t want to que anymore and the rest of us can then play in peace? I want every dirty trick you can think of to sabotage them and this thread might become our evil guide book to freedom. I want to know how to hurt them spitefuilly and maliciously for MY FUN and that of the other players when playing with a jerk premade and against a jerk premade. I want to see them lose and have their ego crushed painfully. Can I whisper plans to members of the other team? Can I pass the ball to opposing players? What can I do in what warzone and even better get away with quietly so they fight amongst themselves? How can I mock them? Hurt them? What do you recommend to drive a nail through their eye? Maybe with enough "get them" advice I can go back to playing in peace. So please share your tips and KNOW they will be put to very good use cleaning out trash from the game and ensuring some people simply aren't bullied anymore. Thank you.
