  1. You can still post without an active sub ... I can't play anymore, but can still post.
  2. I call bull on this. Healing van be easily balanced. it's just that when balanced propperly a healer is NO fun to play as solo. You will need someone else to do your dps, always. A balanced healer should heal a little bit more then one person's DPS on a light armor class (assuming same gear level) which means you can outheal a bit more then 1-2 dps on a medium and 2-3 DPS on a tank class ( assuming they use defensive tricks) the downside off that balance is that you get to do no dmg. The moment you let a healer do a bit of dps and a bit of healing, balancing becomes damn near impossible. And yes to OP. Mythics pvp team has NO idea about balance. I left WAR because after continuous rants from the top warrior priests AND the top bright wizzards from our servers that they wanted their own classes to be nerfed because it was breaking all forms of balance and required no skill to play... And they still didn't nerf us! I mean in the heydays of AE roffelstomp the entire EU forums tried to explain stuff to them, and they never got the point. Only after one of top guilds of our EU server where let ontothe test server and proceeded to completely own the dev team did they turn down some AE, but not nearly enough. In the end I left because with full gear a warriorpriest took No skill at all to play. You could not run out of resource while spamming AE heal, and AE heal did the highest HPS ... OH and there was a bug that let you cast it while on the run ..... sheesh it was so broken and mindless. For the love of god Bioware, keep those idiots away from the pvp.

    My thoughts on PVP

I was planning on starting my own thread on this, but the OP basically captures it, so I'll just add my 2 cents here : - Warzone leavers. Please, PLEASE put a hefty punishment on this. It really sucks to loose a warzone because people leave after the other team scored one point in Huttball. Sometimes your good players get skillfully avoided by the enemy team, which makes it look to the noobs that my team is being overrun, and 2-3 players leave while we tie up the score .... They do not get punished but I will loose the game because it's a 5 vs 8 fight for a few mins. Same goes for joining halfway in ... every leaver gets replaced by somebody in the que and it is REALLY frustrating to join a game halfway. So either put a BIG penalty on leaving, or let me tick a box that lets me wait until a new warzone opens up. I do NOT want to be put in a warzone that has already been lost by the leavers. - Rewards. Currently you only get bags from wins. That means that when I'm pugging, I have a severely lower reward rate. This can't be the intention right ? Sure I can group up with the PvP guild (I'm a fairly skilled player, so they let me join when they need a 4th) But I actually like the challenge of fighting in a PuG vs a premade. And atm I get punished if I try to make the hutball games tense. If I join the premades, we roll over the enemy team 80% of the time... no fun but good rewards. If i PuG i win 20-30% of the time, not really fun and crappo rewards. -Dropbags. For the love of god, take away the random loot chance. I know why you do it ... the "maybe I 'll get my item i the next bag" syndrome triggers the dopamine receptors in the human brain very effectively. This is why people can get addicted to gambling, but ffs , it is unfair, and for those who know enough about human psychology and physiology it is just downright insulting that you thing your game needs a crutch like that to keep players from leaving. - Opening scenes in Voidstar. All nice and all but PLEASE remove them. There are two minutes between the opening of a warzone and the actual start of a warzone. very often you'r not the actuall first pick for your slot. So someone else gets a pop-up and doesn't click it... you get the spot, but your loading in begins 1 minute before the game starts. On the defending side you get an unskippable fly around on a scooter, for about a minute ... subtract your loading time and taadaa ... you have missed the start, and can't leave the start area untill the stupid force field goes down for the second time. by this time a good enemy will already have bombed one door. The worst game I've had in voidstar was a game where a 4 man premade had let their timer expire so half my team was spawning while the first bomb got placed. By the time I first got onto the fighting area the first doors where down and we had to run into the second room ..... Guess what, before I reached the secong doors, the bomb was planted! So you run after everybody to try and stop something at door nr 3 ... same thing . I got to see ONE opponent. Really not kidding here! ONE, the whole enemy team was so far ahead of my when I spawned that I never even caught up on them. All just because off that stupid scooter ride around the place. Same goes in lesser extend to the attacker, but at least you can spacebar through that bit. Missing critical fighting time JUST because of a stupid opening cinematic that adds no value whatsoever other then your first run is completely bonkers in a competitive pvp environment. TLDR: - Implement a leaving penalty - Give rewards for loosing - The random chance in drop bags is insulting and annoying - Voidstar opening cinematics need to go.
  4. People underestimate the amount of free time MMO players have on their hands. Just because it isn't perfect doesn't mean it's going to fail. The people complaining about "nothing to do" are the ones that rushed through the game and have already done everything that is in the current version ... those are the hardcore guys (or no life guys) that NEED an MMO to fill their time. Most of my guild is still leveling up or gearing up. Doompreacghers and Naysayers are always over represented on forums .. take a few deep breaths and enjoy the game. It's all going to be oke, I promise
  5. Ahhh, yup. I just tried to login and got the same. That'll teach me for posting about it before trying it out Well time to go buy a gamecard i guess
  6. Please report that man to the Empire, he needs to turn in his Sith card ! What is the world coming to ... Siths not backstabbing people !? All kidding aside, i kinda like it that you can use /s to talk to the other faction. It makes running into a red name even more exciting, as you can never be sure if he/she will attack you or chat you up (or both )
  7. Ditto. I was wondering if this was just me:) Well It's one way to keep your subscription levels up ( I unsubbed and removed my CC info the moment they deleted a thread about people being billed on their CC while they had pushed the button to unsubscribe... Mythic did that in WAR, so i'm pretty sensitive about it... it might have been just a troll of blizz employee... but deleting threads is censoring and does not make me have faith) Two days ago my account said zero days left, yesterday it said I would run out of time soon ... today I can still post here soo .. just FYI, i like the game so far so will buy a gamecard when i do actually run out.. but they'r not getting my CC info anymore untill I get conformation from some guildies that the billing is indeed working as intended. (cause atm, it certainly isn't )
  8. Most of the delay whine was that they missed the window they reserved, and then took another window. They have a weekly maintenance window of 8 hours. That is quite big. IF you miss that window for whatever reason ... just wait a week and do it in the next window, instead of taking away 8 MORE hours of the game. People who have a life plan make plans, if they say the server is going to be down between x and y you plan to do your stuff on a later day ... Then when you try to log in on that later day and find out nothing happened between x and y, but they are doing it NOW, you get mad. When they delayed 1.1 they should have delayed it for a week, instead of rushing it, and still missing the deadline. They actually managed to have patch 1.1 be both delayed AND rushed (needed to be hotfixed within 24 hours) which came across pretty amateuristic. Couple that to the fact that BOTH the reserved and the actual patch times where in the middle of the day for Europe (seriously, between 16:00 and 19:00 CET can NOT be called off-hours) you get a LOT of angry Europeans. I'm assuming they'll learn from this (I mean they would be hard pressed to do any worse for 1.2 then the way they did 1.1 ) PS : give Europe a separate patch window guys! And stick to your schedules! Making everything happen on US time and claiming patches are done on off-hours is insulting to the whole of EU. And not sticking to your own schedule comes across kinda noobish. lets hope the influx of new players keeps going as I bet the whole "only one patching time"is a budget thing (it'll cost more to have two separate teams) which can only be solved once they have enough subscribers to make it cost effective.
  9. You are not making sense in that statement. PvE is just that : players versus environment. People who think pve is indirect pvp is the reason they did not, and will not give a combat logg other then maybe your own. By focusing on only one aspect of the game (for example the dps out-put for dps classes) you are missing the point that the end goal of your pve experience is a dead boss..... not a maxed out dps. If a dps includes a debuff in his/her dmg rotation that makes the boss take 10% extra dmg, his or her dps will be lowered.. while everybody else's dps goes up 10%. Net effect : boss dies faster, but people like you will tell that dps that he/she needs to step it up, because combat logg shows his/her dps as lacking. Same goes for healing and HPS, if I give my tank 10% extra armor, and another healer doesn't his HPS will show higher .... but MY tank will be alive at the end of the fight ... Removing the combat logg was one of the most brilliant things this MMO brought to the table. If you can't distinguish the great/good players from the average/bad players without tools like dps meters you should not be making that distinction. Edit: I'll give another small example. In that other MMO, I was a hard core raid healer. You had some fights where there was lots of repositioning, and being close to another raid member was a big nono. The guy at the top of the dps list, was always the guy that did not move. he would just stand there and expect everybody else to run away from him when they where close, instead of him moving a few feet as well, because that would lower his dps. We stopped healing him, and lo and behold the encounter became a lot easier. Same goes for healing , i would regularly run quite a bit 9lowering my overall HPS) to b in a position to heal the tank IF he got knock backed by the boss ( he shouldn't ... but sometimes they did) This action prevented a wipe on knockback, at the cost of my HPS. Now if the OP would have been my raid leader he would probably called me a bad healer... (and i would have stopped saving his *** for 5 tries for that Luckaly my raidleader was good enough to notice that we got a LOT closer to killing the boss if ONE of the healers did something like that, letting all the other healers just focus on their HPS and not getting OOM, then when we all where doing the same thing.
  10. Oke you DO know that the dev tracker has been down for quite a while now (at least it is for me) And that they delete about a third of the threads ... forcing people to repost their complaints in other (less-related) threads all the time right ?? And "we didn't know this would happen and are looking into it" does not constitute adequate reaction. No roll back means ppl who farmed a broken system gain, while the guys who didn't don't. I haven't seen any reaction on the silly loading screen bug either... but then again dev tracker is down, half the threads are disappearing, and the other half are buried because people keep re-posting what gets deleted..... Oh and no search function. So yhea, no info is reaching me other then deletes, closing of threads and warnings about not being allowed to talk about forum moderation.
  11. Hehehehhehehehhee that actually made me laugh. A few hours ago I would have agreed with you. But sry, mods have been locking or deleting everything in the last few hours. Not just flames, double posts or unrelated posts. And I don't really have faith in the fact that they will start listening to feedback right now. I mean, the imbalance could not come as a surprise, and still they put out the patch. On the other hand, if anything is going to open their eyes and ears, it'll prolly be a *****torm like this (and right before resubbing time ... oohw that much hurt)
  12. server is down dude... check the server status page
  13. + 1 to you sir. Yes they close basically everything atm, and throw infrictions left and right.
  14. It's because of the amazing stupidity of what is in this patch. There is no way you can tell me that the Ilum farming was a surprise to them ... I mean Cmon .... I feel hard pressed to accept that the loading screen bugg was a surprise. They had a tendency in WAR to only listen to a select bit of the player base (only from american servers) At some point they even get send back to the drawning board when a raid group from my European server all where finally allowed on the test server and completely rolled over the dev's team. I can still remember the "some factors of area of effect damage might need to be tuned down" ...., oooohhh really ..... We had been yelling that for months at that time, and not just the guys getting beaten on ... even the guys doing the killing made very well articulated feedback about it. Which got ignored until it got shoved in their face.
  15. Is this their first MMO ? No it isn't. They have (or should have) loads of experience with patching . And for crying out load, if you reserve yourself a patch window that is almost 5% of the gameplay time (8 hours per week) the least you can do is stick to it. I would rather have had they waited with this patch until next Tuesday... they definitely could have used the time.
  16. Being able to do the next planet with the actual challange it is made for. As a sorc, I already get heals and a tanking pet..... I had to skip half the content between 20 and 35 just to keep quests in the green because i did a few pvp and space battles. +1 for this
  17. Remember : Vanilla wow just had onyxia. We had to wait frigging Ages for other raid content to come out. Seriously, the end game raiding in this game is better then WoW at launch .. it's just that wow took way more then a month to grind to max lvl. plus at max lvl you could start gearing up for Onyxia ...
  18. Just FYI : You can roll an alt of the opposing faction on the same server. And the Nar shadaa auction house is neutral. So roll a republic, put up an auction on your alt selling a grey item for 200k, switch to main and buy the auction. Boom, instant cash transfer. And yes, republic needs more people
  19. I it just me... or do other people also get : SWTOR.com is currently unavailable while we perform scheduled maintenance. Please check back again soon! On that link ?? And the mods have deleted FAR more threads then they closed / responded to ..... so I am still pissed. I don't expect much of a forum in the lines of feedback, but until today I have NEVER seen any of my posts threads get deleted. In the last few hours more then half of the threads i read got deleted, and after some serious flaming they went to locking them. I expect these forums to be an absolute sh*thole for the next few days. Both because of the patch srewup, and because of the way they treat their paying customers.
  20. Powertech. At least, on my server I have trouble with a few powertechs... while mercs... I never noticed fighting a merc, so either my server has none, or they are easy. Powertechs have heavy armor, that annoying pull and the rocket punch for 3k.
  21. The forums .... I've have NEVER had any of my post disappear until today. Today any thread I read disappears. So good luck with this one
  22. I agree. At the VERY least, lower expi for pvp and space combat around lvl 20 ... i had to skip half of the quests of two planets to get into yellow quests again. i would really like to have done some bonus content .. but alas, the next planet is already almost below me, so got to hurry over there .
  23. Well, at least it didn't get deleted. Forums are for flaming, especially the general forum. If you want real objective opinions and answers wait a few days or post an interesting question on a sub forum. Currently they had a few very big mistakes in the new patch, so the general and pvp forum will be a bit hot-headed until all the "i just got killed" people are playing again.
  24. We keep flaming because adhere very strictly to RoD e-10 : Do not post about locked or deleted threads or other moderation actions. And there are a LOT of people who have seen threads get deleted. Not just the whiny flaming threads. And yes OP, I agree that this launch was better then I have seem of any MMO so far. People either don't remember or weren't at wow launch. The current forum state is such a mess because they wanted to control the flames instead of letting them pass. Currently I'm just seeing if i get banned before, or after my sub renews 19 mins to go
