  1. That's another option to have the CM Reputation Vendors carry them. Although having them in the Cartel Packs would probably be more appealing to BW since it would encourage crafters to purchase more packs.
  2. The packs would contain a profession specific "token" which is not BoP. It would be tradable or sellable until it was "used". So, if you received an Artifice token and you couldn't use it, then you could trade or sell it. However, once you "used" the token and received an actual schematic, then it becomes BoP. So, if you tried to use an Artifice token by a character with Armormech, it would give you a message stating that you do not have the required profession to use this item. You would then trade or sell it as you saw fit. I would consider using a token the same as opening a pack. You get the thrill of "gambling" that you get something good. But you don't get to change your mind when the bet doesn't pay off. The idea would be good for BW too. It would encourage people to buy more packs if the only way to get a rare schematic is through these tokens. So I don't see it necessarily causing a conflict with the "golden goose".
  3. You can learn them. You need to reverse engineer the Enhancements from 69 or 72 gear you get from the Basic and Elite Commendation vendors for a 20% to learn the schematic. You cannot Reverse Engineer the 78 mods yet that you get from the Ultimate Commendation vendor.
  4. Speaking of weird experiences, I was recruiting for and Ops group the other day. I had asked for one DPS and quickly received five replies. I accepted the first responder and then whispered to the other four very politely that the spot had been filled. I felt it was polite to respond to each person that asked to join. Once we went to enter the Operation, one of the DPS in the group realized that they were locked out. I then went to the second DPS that responded to invite them to join. Only I discovered that they had placed me on ignore. I thought it was the strangest thing since the only thing he accomplished was to prevent an invitation to the Operation that he wanted to join in the first place. The only thing I said to him prior to his ignoring me was, "Sorry, just filled".
  5. The schematic would be BoP, but the items that you craft after you learn it would be BoE. So they could be sold on the GTN, or made to give to your Alts, or anybody else. If you received a "token" for a profession that you don't have, then that token could be sold on GTN, or traded. So it wouldn't be useless. Once the "token" is used, then the resulting schematic becomes BoP. So you wouldn't want to open a Biochem schematic with an Artificer. I suppose there wouldn't be any harm in making the schematic Bind on Legacy either. The point is that it shouldn't be able to be sold once you find out what schematic you got. Otherwise the schematics would become a commodity and lose a lot of their value. You take your chances, and if you get a "Purple" or even a Legendary schematic, it would remain rare and the items you craft would be valuable. It would also discourage people from simply farming the schematics to sell. The more schematics you get, the greater the chances of a duplicate.
  6. I was inspired reading another thread about crafters needing some love since the advent of the Cartel Market. I am a Master Craftsman and really enjoy that part of the game. I started thinking along the lines of schematics being included in the Cartel Packs. To make sure that they would have value for a particular character, I would suggest the following. - The schematic "token" would drop for a particular profession. (Artifice / Synthweaving / Biochem / Cybertech / Armstech / Armormech) - The "token" would be not be Bound prior to being used. So it could be traded or sold on the GTN. - Once the token is used, there would be a random outcome and the resulting schematic would be BoP. So you don't know if you will get a "Green", "Blue", or "Purple" schematic. - The gear crafted from these schematics would NOT be able to be Reverse Engineered. You can only learn them from the original BoP schematic which cannot be sold or traded. There are many options available for what gear could be included. Artifice could get unique lightsaber crystal color combinations to craft. Special armor set pieces for Synthweavers and Armormechs. A line of distinct weapons for Armstech. Implants, Earpieces, Stims, etc. Whatever categories each profession has could be included for schematic ideas. This would really give crafting a shot in the arm and generate excitement again. You could even sprinkle in some Legendary schematics. What do you guys think?
  7. Ironically, I was just telling my wife that we need a Bind to Legacy Offhand for the various classes. The Gree Event is returning again in December. This would be the perfect time to introduce the item(s). It would generate a lot of activity because people would want to get them for the different classes. Come on BW! Give us a Legacy Offhand for the holidays.
  8. This is new since Patch 2.4.1. Flourish no longer works properly for my Lvl 55 Jedi Sage. Ironically, it does work properly for my Guardian. When I type /flourish or use it from the General menu, my Sage simply stick his hand out in front of him holding his lightsaber hilt (no beam) with a message that states "You display your weapon for everyone to see." But he is not waving it around dramatically like he used to. Same thing for my Shadow. However, it works properly for my Guardian. (curious) Is anyone else noticing this new phenomenon?
  9. I submitted a ticket on this yesterday. It has happened to me 3 times. Each time I had to completely log out of the game and back in. Then the messages appeared. Although all of the "new" messages were marked as read already. It seems to be a new bug since 2.3.2.
  10. I have thought of this too. There are times when I would like to access the GTN from remote locations. Usually it is because I was crafting items and then started running dailies or other missions and then my inventory fills up with the crafted items. If I could access a "GTN Courier" then I could list the items and clear out my inventory.
  11. I believe BW will realize that they have gone way too high for a one time use item. It would be more reasonable to purchase if it were able to be added to collections. Right now, they could cut the price by 80% and I still would not buy it as a one time use item. I would feel that it would be too wasteful to ever change the colors on my armor and thus it would take away from the fun of the game. It's not that I can't afford it. It would just be a foolish waste of money. Come on BW, make these purchasable dye module able to be added to collections, and include the account wide unlock in the original purchase price. Don't make your loyal subscriber base feel like they're being ripped off.
  12. Yes, I have every single piece of the armor sets. I have added many sets previously. This appears to be a bug that just appeared after the patch 2.3.2.
  13. I have been adding complete armor sets to my collections. Since the Patch 2.3.2 happened, I have not been able to add any sets or individual items to collections. I did submit a ticket. Howver, I was wondering if this is universal, or only specific people / chars? I have been unable to add the following complete sets / items. - Forward Recon Armor - Phantom Armor - Derelict Purple Hawkeye Crystal
  14. In the April 27th Q&A Patrick Malott (Systems Designer) provided some very useful information regarding the crit chance for crafting items. It would be extremely useful to have similar insights on the crit chance for crew gathering missions. I have Artifice, Archaeology, and Treasure Hunting, all at 400. I have one companion with maxed out affection, and the rest are above 50%. I would love to know the baseline crit chance for gathering the "Purple" materials. Does it vary depending on the Grade of the material? (i.e. Grade 1 Gemstone vs. Grade 6 Gemstone) It seems like I send mission after mission without success sometimes. What factors modify the baseline chance? I try to craft Purple items for the GTN for various levels to help fill the gap as people level. But the amount that I spend just to get the mats seems enormous. If you do manage to crit, how is the quantity determined? Thanks for any insights that you can offer. EPCOT
  15. We have three accounts in my household. Since we don't have a 4th computer that would allow all four of us to play at once. So I understand about shelling out $45 or $60 a month to play. I still consider that cheep entertainment based on the amount of time that we spend on the game. However, I am the only one with a Level 50 character. I do the same thing that you do with my daughters. We play when we can at a slower pace. However, I developed my Lvl 50 separately. I still have to pay for the other two accounts, and only get one account free for 30 days. You have two sons with Lvl 50s, so you get TWO accounts free for 30 days. Stop complaining. Think of it like a frequent flyer program. The airlines have been giving preferential treatment for eons to their frequent flyers to encourage more use of their services. If you don't fly that often, or spread your business out among different airlines for the cheapest fares (i.e. different characters), then you don't receive the same treatment. If you would quit over a one time $15 savings, then you are either too stubborn for your own good, or you didn't like the game to begin with. I consider the game a good value. If you look at how much it costs to take the family to a movie nowadays, you can get a whole month of entertainment on SWTOR for the same price.
