  1. I agree wholeheartedly. Don't like it, don't buy it. I don't donate money to the Mormon church (not singling them out, just picking a random one) or support anything they endorse, I don't expect people who are offended by what I do to support me in any way. For similar reasons I boycott verizon wireless, vivendi, the RIAA, all corporate bailout banks, BP, and a slew of other things I despise. It's also why I spend almost every penny I can on games supported by valve. I am a human, I can make my own choices in life. That said, I am a pragmatist, and I understand that the logical utopia that we all should live in is about as likely as my puppy growing up into a gilded unicorn. And that Bioware would be shooting itself in the foot to alienate a group of potential customers over a few megabytes of data. If it brings in that extra $2000 a month in player subscriptions for bioware, I'm okay conceding the need for those offended to -uncheck- a box at install. Making us all check one to install the same sex options, however, is going too far with the pandering. I'll cut ignorance a little slack, but in this day in age, I just sort of wish we would take the warning labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself.
  2. Simple answer: the fact that this even needs to be considered a sensitive subject makes me seriously sad about the state of humanity. I understand if a developer doesn't want to include it for whatever reason (however misguided) but the fact that we even need to discuss hiding it is silly. This is life we're talking about. Just ignore the stuff you don't like, and go on with your lives. Personally, as a straight male who just isn't that interested in making male characters, if same-sex isn't introduced in the next six months (a very reasonable timeframe) then I will be cancelling my account. I came for the story, and I got 95% of one with my shadow. Issero is a terrible romance option, not only is hitting on a guy not for me, but he's basically a talking popsicle stick with a similar personality to one. I don't care if me chasing Nadia around with us both wearing twi'lek slavegirl costumes makes some people uncomfortable. On that very same stroke, picturing someone actually following a romance with issero makes me equally uncomfortable. I'm not forced to do it (well, technically I am, but I'm arguing for a perfect world here) so I just use that crazy thing I have called a "choice." As for the people with objections to the content itself being on their computer, I can understand that, again, however misguided it is (fantasy game? not real?) there should be an option on install on whether or not to include the bytes of data that make up the affront to any deities. Beyond that, seriously, guys. Grow up.
  3. It's actually not on my hip. The only reason it bugs me is because 1.) It's not there outside of cutscenes where it's drawn, 2.) we can't use blaster pistols, 3.) It just doesn't make any sense. If we had an attack that used a blaster pistol (like the scoundrel's scattergun,) that'd be different. It's just jarring and nonsensical. I hope they change it sometime, but it's not high on my list of things that need fixing (the multi-barrel assault cannons only firing from a single barrel is so irritating I can't use them, despite liking them the most.) I hate things that are obviously there for a purpose (the little missile rack on the shoulder of the high end PVP gear) that are just aesthetic. Something about it just REALLY annoys me.
  4. been looking into a hybrid assault/gunnery build (16 gunnery 25 assault) because plastique is so disappointing.
  5. I've used Aric, Dorne, and 4X. All of them work just fine.
  6. I'm kind of surprised that nobody's chimed in about the single-barrel fire thing. It really desperately ruins all multi-barrel guns...
  7. It certainly frustrates me that we don't get proper pushback protection on channeled skills like full auto/grav...
  8. The more I play assault, the more I like it for the blend of pvp/leveling. Too much discussion about endgame specs and not enough about how to spec while leveling, IMO. I still think it feels like something much better tuned for vanguards (no synergy whatsoever with the heals) but it does grant mobility and lots more survivability in pvp (no more getting locked down, if you are getting focused in a BG, you can just run in and spam your DoT/grenades to do as much dps as possible and **** the meters) and it does give you a decent ability to level in PvE. I like the simple, yet interesting rotation of instant cast things you can use while moving, paired with the channeled and cast time skills that it synergizes with. I also like that I don't just sit there and spam grav round/high impact bolt and absolutely nothing else. Seriously, I HATE the rotation of gunnery, it's so boring. I don't mind being somewhat stationary, but not having 100% pushback protection on my MAIN dps skill, not to mention all the interrupts, makes a gunnery commando a flat out liability in pvp if the enemy knows what he's doing. It does stink that the spec built FOR commando DPS is just so not-fun as a solo-queue in pvp, and is more boring than a vanilla WoW hunter in rotation. IMO, give combat medic's combat support cell "builds charge" system charges from using charged bolts or some offensive attack. That could be useful for some nice damage rotations.
  9. I've been playing around with my specs, and while Gunnery does lots and lots of potential damage, in pvp (this is sub level 40) I find that I'm just getting demolished. so many interrupts I might as well just switch to combat support cell and heal. So, great for pve, bad for pvp. With Combat medic, I went 24 deep (currently 35 now) and have been rocking in pvp, except I have no real fun while questing. Sure, I don't die, ever, but there's nothing fun about fighting. I did try assault for a couple days, and it seemed like magic. In PvP, my big damage stuff was instant cast, and I could burst out so much damage it didn't even make sense, even in the middle of the fight. topped the damage meters by huge margins. And in PvE, I found survival lacking, but again, it did work. I axe you guys this, If you planned on leveling another commando while doing pvp AND pve, what sort of spec would you progress with? I'm very torn here, because I like gunnery the most in PVE, and combat medic the most in pvp, but assault seems like the bastard child spec that functions okay in both.
  10. does it piss anyone else off that your multi-barrel guns only fire from one barrel?
  11. it's just too bad nadia is awful for shadows. I hate our companions. I just used a friend who was 40, but had a healer. tharan + other heels = easy.
  12. I just wear the slave girl outfit. And one for nadia. SEXY SQUAD.

Within ten seconds I had him pegged as the most annoying character in the entire star wars universe. Even worse than emo anakin in episode 2 and 3. HE'S ACTUALLY THAT BAD. I don't care that he has a great voice actor or is a throwback reference. He needs to be mutable, or better yet, beatable. I seriously want a minigame where you eject him out of the garbage chute or fire him out of your proton torpedo bay.
