Sorc mobility is just too limited. Phase Walk was a good start and arguably provides some degree of tactical leverage over other classes. However, Phase Walk has one major flaw: Melee who survived your DoTs can still see you on the map and may even potentially pursue you if they're feeling like they need the extra cardio. Worse, if barrier is on cd, you could even die. Giving Sorcs the ability to fly obviously solves the melee problem. Of course, other ranged classes will still be able to target you. In the interest of balance, this problem can be solved by increasing the Sorc's attack range to 100-meters, bearing in mind that vertical navigation while in flight will be indefinite. And before it's brought up, yes, I'm aware that the lesser classes which require skill will still be able to LoS you, but there are some issues you just can't fix.

Played since launch. Played both factions. Encounter more kids and/or social incompetence on Republic. Just my personal experience though, not making an anecdotal fallacy.
