  1. One thing Saberwing has done to prevent issues like this is to restrict guild bank tabs specifically to rank. Only our highest officers can access the tab that contains our most valuable assets. Alts are brought in at ranks below this that have severe limitations on the amount of withdraws until they are verified. Definitely look into restricting the bank tabs if you haven't done so already.
  2. Thank you again for your hard work! Rather than create another thread right now I'll just post the Tanking Min/Max spreadsheet I've made here. The Values tab has all of the information saved from KBN's original post. SWTOR Tanking Min/Max and Augment Spreadsheet
  3. I have heard, I do not know the cost, that you can purchase glasses that correct some aspects of colour issues due to colour blindness. While not ideal, it would help.
  4. And if neither of those suit your fancy - feel free to look up Saberwing. It would be hard to find a more laid back crew that likes to kill stuff - quite a few of us are older, have families, have jobs, and have been gaming together for a while so you would be welcome to join us. We have quite a few families and couples that are in guild.
  5. Had a few NORbies join us for that NiM EC run - that was fun. We then played around in ToS later, Braxton was an amazing resource - thank you again. We had our first full clear of Ravagers this last week. Took some newer folks into HM SNV. GSF queues have been popping and we are sitting cozy on Corellia for conquests.
  6. Saberwing - the largest GSF guild for the Republic on the Ebon Hawk - heartily supports this event! If you are looking for a group you can do a /cjoin GSF (this works for both Republic and Imperial sides) or a /cjoin SBR (Pub side) to ask for a group. Groups of 4 will be balanced to have newer pilots paired with those with more experience within our ops groups. Our voice chat will be available for this event as well. Saberwing TS Info: sabercult.com pw: darkbluecheese Looking forward to flying with and against you folks!

  8. Recently started an operations group Thursday at 8 EST. Looking for 2 tanks and a healer to run a Wednesday night ops group. The day and time is subject to change by group consensus. Sunday fun run at 4 EST is going to be 16 man NiM EC. (hope to get some NORbies to join us!)
  9. Time differences. That screenie is a different group altogether from the one we had from about 8-9:30 eastern.
  10. I never saw any "turret nonsense". It was a fun setup. Usually we would attack the Imps at their base, die to people just outside of the turrets but perhaps within the range of NPCs. I can only recall just a handful of people dying to turrets on either side for the hour and a half we were there. We would try to meet them in the middle on respawn. But you know how large groups go! We'd get strung out, become easy fodder, die, and then regroup again at our base. After that, we'd push back, usually through. There was a good stint there for about 15 minutes where we steadily pushed into their base and then had to slowly retreat. There was some awesome work by some of the PvPers on staying alive despite all the blaster fire and lightsabers. Sorry you missed out on all the fun.
  11. When Saberwing first heard the call for PvP in the Black Hole, we had no idea what to expect. We took our two PvP groups there and formed up with folks from The Core, The Defender Program, and a few other people who responded in /enemies (/cjoin enemies for PvP grouping info). We had a BLAST in the Black Hole! The back and forth between bases, the steady retreats and the difficult pushes. It was most enjoyable. Thank you Imps for the fun. We should play in the Black Hole again sometime.
  12. Ah, SWG. Saberwing spent a TON of time in SWG on Starsider. Space, PvP, and enjoying some PvE activities takes up our time. Even if you don't join us, it's always good to talk to another person who understands SWG's unique atmosphere.
  13. If I weren't a Saber, I'd be a New Outrider! These folks are some of the best around! Impside and Pubside conquests...impressive!
  14. Outlaws Den would be the perfect host for such a spectacle.
  15. I'm reminded of a story: A young, up-and-coming business man was invited to a rich, well established Tycoon's home for a dinner party. Many people were invited and the young business man came a little later than intended; traffic and business had kept him longer than expected. But when he arrived there wasn't much seating left at the table. Judging by some of the folks who were already seated, he knew he already had far more wealth and potential than some of them could ever hope to achieve. Others he saw were some of his competition, others still role models. There was only one seat left near where the Tycoon would sit or a few seats near the far end of the table next to the folks who were far lower on the totem pole. Of course that young man sat near where he should sit. He sat in that last seat by the Tycoon. When they Tycoon entered the room to begin the party. The Tycoon did not begin the party as the young man expected. Rather they Tycoon reprimanded the young man for being presumptuous and arrogant and cast the young man out of the party for his insolence. That was the day the young man learned something.
  16. Darn - must have just missed that match! Saberwing has enjoyed a TON of games this week. Shoutout to all the pilots we've flown with and against. The skies have been full, our blaster energy low, and our hearts warmed by the battles we've fought - thank you!
  17. 1] I'll double check this but I was confident it was the ship as a whole. It's hard to see when another friendly is on the target but it slowly chips away at both shield arcs. 2] The reason I have to check 1] is because I run with this talent of blaster drain. It seems terrible until you suffer from it's effects. Also consider how much shield damage you are already doing - a small drain isn't going to change it much. With that consideration, it makes the shield power drain seem the "terrible, a non-choice." The weapon power and engine power drains work better in a dueling capacity. It's the difference between you killing that T2 scout and you dying to it or even Renegade-One in a gunship. 3] Saberwing has enjoyed using the Starguard as an anti-battlescout ship. Like Nemarus said, it is almost an instant kill after shields are stripped. Land that cluster and one heavy hit and they are space dust. I think he's experienced this build from us often. Of course this require retro-thrusters. The build is effective at taking out gunships as well but barrel roll may be better suited in closing distances. Again, it depends on how the other team is reacting and backing up their gunships. It's very hard to fully utilized directional against a gunship when there is a scout on your 6. Largely used by us as a 1v1 dueling ship that takes the cake; ultimately, I have to agree with other folks in that this ship is a strong addition to a concert effort but against one [a concert effort] it lacks survivability in comparison.
  18. I'm all for entrepreneurship. But sometimes it is not necessary. I believe this is one of those times. Here is an opportunity to build a different culture than what others have pressed against us. Here is an opportunity to build relationships just for that purpose. A short rant about how MMOs have changed: No longer does the player, in general, seek to interact with new people but only stays within their small community to work for personal benefit. You did not have to be in the guild to participate in operations, granted that guildies had preference until that spot was earned by your part even though you were from another guild. People did not make cash grabs, but helped readily without asking for reward. Although it was expected to tip someone who helped you do something you did not normally do or were incapable of doing solo or in your guild. Haha, the days of being tipped for healing are long gone. Saberwing had this happen often in SWG, the elite Hoth battle, getting people their heavy X-wing, or completing the last mission of their space progression - we always did it for free, declined tips, but if it was insisted we accepted graciously. These things were the norm for where we played, but it does not seem to be the norm any longer. Thank you Tam for your well reasoned and thought out responses. A few points I'd like to raise: If guild recruitment is open, then why not just open those slots on a rotating basis for free? Example - you get on the roster one week, the next week you are off and you may re-enter your name for placement again. Much like a lunch line where everyone has to be served first before you can get seconds. If the fee is truly nominal for a guild that has such large access to resources and pulls large numbers of credits in regularly, then why not open the slots for free. Depending on the individual though the amount can seem stifling. Consideration - The person who joins the guild is also contributing to conquests which further secures your guild's position on the leaderboard. In a way, you are charging for them to help your guild. Suggestion: Offer it for free with the expectation of a tip should they receive the title. Everyone should tip someone else who provides a service, it is the polite thing. Requiring the tip though usually just leaves someone with a bitter taste and the one doing the service with less tip money. This card of: "We can do it because others do it" is never a justification. Your argument stems from the very thing you claim to see in your opponent - a pathetic and childish response of "Mom, why can that kid eat candy bars and drink pop for every meal and I can't! I want to too!"
  19. Special welcome to the GSFers who have joined us lately. We have had a guild from Shadowlands join up on top of some Ebon Hawkers.
  20. Clarification: One can say that as a certain group they have a high rate of winning. But in GSF queues, because one cannot dictate the entire make up of a full team; to say that you do better and achieve more wins compared to another relatively equal group is a bit biased, especially without hard numerical data. Even you concede a distinction of different levels of piloting skill. One group cannot simply claim they win more; it is presumptuous and entirely arbitrarily. As I can recall in the past month, when I group with Sabers for at least a full group of 4, we have only lost once. I will gladly concede the point that I do not get the opportunity to fly often with them. Some of those matches were extremely close and others not so much. I say this all to stress the point that our population is quite large and extremely diverse.
  21. GSF and PvP queues happen frequently, PvP picks up around 2-3 central time. GSF I've noticed is a little heavier around 5:00 central and later. Flashpoints are kinda random, I'm not knowledgeable about those at the moment but with tacticals they pop quicker.
  22. Kloma, thank you for the shoutout. Saberwing doesn't tolerate much junk. We are a laid back crew (older folks with lives, families, and jobs). We have a few PvPers, GSFers, and the like but as a whole, very casual. The best way to describe Saberwing is - "Saberwing does what Saberwing wants to do." We've been doing pretty decent in conquests (not top of the leaderboard material) but grouping up for open world PvP, killing commanders, and completing objectives together. We have had a few transfers recently join our ranks and they have enjoyed the environment immensely. I'll be on this afternoon more but if you want to try to get ahold of a Saber, try the channel /cjoin sbr.
  23. The Ebon Hawk has proven to have exceptional queue times and there is a great deal of balance - it all depends on the matchmaker honestly. For example, last night Saberwing was being pitted against a bunch of newer players while the Imperial aces were also facing a bunch of newer players and the two queues never righted themselves. Most of the time you are in for a fun ride. If you are interested in a GSF guild on the Ebon Hawk: Saberwing for the Republic and Eclipse Squadron for the Empire are both openly recruiting pilots.
  24. Enjoying a low stress time of killing commanders, expanding the guild ship, and shooting Imps in the face. We'd love to have some more folks join us - we've been in the top 5 of each conquest so far. We plan on seeing a number 1 spot eventually.
