  1. Been trying to figure out of it will be easier or harder for 4 new players to improve and reach a good level in Arenas. Problem with 8 vs 8 was that very few new guilds queing kept queing for long because they got destroyed in their first games. I can understand this seemed like an impossible barrier to overcome. Btw kudos to the teams that took their defeats and indeed improved and became better! In 4 vs 4 individual skill would however seem to become even more evident as opposed to 8 vs 8. If this plays out like it did with 8 vs 8 rated im afraid within a few weeks very few "set-teams" will be queing reguarly, but I hope people will have an easier time keeping their 4 man team alive and interested and willing to try improve, even when taking defeats.
  2. Snipers will be fine in Arena's especially as MM. Orbital Station might cause some pain at times, but the other maps really dont offer alot of LoS, unless the snipers team mates decide to gimp him by fighting near em on purpose. Guess its possible that bringing a sniper in your comp will require better and more coordinated switches, but snipers bring so much CC to the table, and its burst is insane. About marauders, I also think Carnage might actually become a usefull spec. Wont deal the same big overall numbers as Rage, but imagine an MM sniper and Carnage Mara bursting a target with gore.... Anyway, players > classes (except the fact that only possible healer is Operative/Scoundrel)
  3. Normally I play engineer aswell, but when I do play MM, mostly Huttballs my "opening rotiation if im just sitting still shotting with no pressure" would be Shatter Shot ---> Ex. Probe ---> SoS --->FT --->Laze Target "instant" Snipe ---> snipe ----> Ambush "with proc for fast cast" This "rotation" makes your snipes practically free and makes your ambush activiation short aswell. As MM i will never cast ambush without the proc, its a waste of time, and 2 snipes doesnt really take long to cast, seeing as 1 is instant. Guess the suprise of being hit by ambush as the first tick of dmg that also sets of ex. probe can be nice, but there a big red dot on your target when casting ambush, which any half decent player will see anyway. If he wants to LoS you in the 2.5s casting time, he likely will. So get the proc for a shorter cast first imo. And yea, dont really play MM alot, so i may be dead wrong, but I like to use the passive buffs the tree actually gives me, even though it aint PvE But agian, its PvP. Not really such a thing as rotations, you will be doing alot other things in between dmg that will break your rotation constantly, but this aint a loss. Scoreboard doesnt show how many heals you interrupted, how many seconds you rooted sentinels/marauders keeping them from smashing teammates etc etc. About 1 vs 1's where did Notomorrow's thread go? Contained alot of very usefull information?

  7. Coral for sure deserves a spot on that list of dominating teams, they took Civil War and Novare to a new level, which other guilds struggled to catch up on.

  9. Yes, its true that we have had worse and better month for rated for sure. Problem with competative PvP'ers seems to be that if they win to much, they quit, and if they loose to much they also quit! I should'nt have said that "more teams queued", thats not true of course, was part of the reason it was so easy getting wins just when rated launched. Everybody was queing... To make a better exampe, take me fx. I also got invited into Warmonger/Impetus PuG group being led by Skulm a few times, and at that time, i was a fraction of the sniper I am today. Same went for alot of players, competition got way way harder later on. Agian, I completely understand that winning 400 games in a row isnt that fun though, was just trying to goat people into coming back, im sorry
  10. There is always someone winning all the games, and its a fair choice to leave a game because of it. People dont get paid to win in this game after all. Its also a fair point that this game currently has very few good PvP players left, partially thx to bioware for never actually supporting rated. But I remember the quality of the teams queing rated back then, and it was abolutely ****, mostly because it was new, and even the PvE guilds queued for it. With that in mind I was just trying to suggest they should at stayed a little longer
  11. What is so special about 3k rating? Is that somekind of special landmark, where when you reach it you have proven that you are the best of the best for all time? In that case, I would say Fluffy has the honors, leading Harbinger to 3k rating at a time where alot more, and better teams where queing. I dont really care if they made a good decision, I havent played GW2, if its a better PvP game than SWTOR then I salute their choice!

  13. Warmonger were very good no doubt. Looking at the screenshots you gotta wonder why MvP's played without a tank? That would be a massacre agianst any of the later ToFN PvP guilds aswell. The other teams had players, who looking at their stats clearly are playing below the rest of their team mates ability. In my humble opinion Warmongers left the game before the good players from a number og different guilds decided to join forces rather than being dragged down, and of course destroyed by what was at the time by far the best setup. Not Warmongers fault of course, and I dueled enough of these guys to know they are exceptional players, but they were not unbeateble. Would be nice if they took a peak back for arena's to test themself agian. Then they can leave after the first undefeated week ? Oh and HEY EASYWAY WERE ARE YOUUUU! I miss our duels! <3
  14. Actually me and my mates have been wanted to try this. 2 engineers, PT tank and OP healer. Snipers set up orbitals near a wall, PT pulls a guy in, stun him then 4 wall bangs. Its likely only gonna work once though, people will just LoS like crazy when they see this coming the 2nd time, but still, would be funny as hell

    Assassins and 4v4s

    They are fine as dps, I have been playing abit on my sniper working with assassin dps, both as madness and Deception (madness was mostly for fun, I was playing lethality at same time). Guess its one of the harder dps classes though, but it has the burst to kill people. Guess as tanks, PT's and especially Jug's are just superior.
  16. Full door in Voidstar is 20 sec? Ill admit I have never counted Anyway guess stalemates in voidstar was only an often occuring event in 8 vs 8 rated. If you are unlucky enough to get games in normals with 3-4 healers on each side then that sux, but in these games you wouldt cap the door anyway even if AoE only interupted on first tick? Edit: Oh you are talking about dissarming the bomb? Guess thats pretty much impossible, but its gonna be hard even if people could only interupt with single target abilities anyway.
  17. Its a really small difference though, I mean....with your change, the sorc would just re-cast lightning storm? Your team would still be forced to try control him at some point, unless you plan to make him run out of force? No, it needs to stay as it is. People need to learn to pay attention and help the "ONE" guy trying to cap by CC'ing the last members of enemy team.
  18. I wont flame, but I dont agree. No reason to make this game any easier than it already is. If a guy is alive and 6 players are all trying to cap together rather than CC and cap, they deserve to be interupted with an AoE attack. Simple as that
  19. Has been tried by Drama playing on some of their alts. http://www.twitch.tv/gerikke24/c/2811021 I think 2 MM snipers can be deadly. Tons of CC, roots and knockbacks and the ability to make really fast and smooth target switches. In the hands of 2 good players, its a class with a lot of tools. Then agian, most classes will be able to perform well in the hands of good players Coral is running Vanguard DPS and Smash Mara. Possibly the 2 classes snipers do best agianst. Also Coral seems to be putting almost no pressure on snipers, I see almost no switches between em at any point, so they are having a very easy time doing dps. Would be fun seeing 2 snipers agianst other comps.
  20. What about me, im all about love aswell man!!? Just wanted to add that White Noise whilst disbanded, still exists, although only with a smaller part of its former player base. Our new "casual" PvP guild is called Herbs & Derps and will be emote spamming your warzones like crazy to fill out the time until 2.4 hits. /wave /kiss /whasp
  21. I rarely solo que so cant really tell and normally I would call ******** on anybody trying to convince me that one side has a significantly higher win rate than the other. Last night however, me and my 3 friends suddenly found our selfs concidering "que dodging" a handfull of Imp players who simply were so bad even I and my normally gentle nature got angry . Have yet to try that rep side, so maybe its true afterall that rep side has less of the "100% retard with no clue" kind of players On a more serious note, there is 0 Imp PvP guilds on ToFN queing for normal warzones these days. Those of the strong players that still que, mostly just log in, group up, wins 2 games in a row for daily, then logs off agian. This means that most of the day Imp teams are 100% solo que, or premades from PvE guilds that wont be able to carry the other 4 players they get teamed up with. Guess Harbinger, MvP, Coral and Ad Vic isnt queing much either, but I have at least seen a few "to me new" rep guilds queing with strong premades these last few weeks since i returned to game. Would have been fun if Bioware had implemented some kind of PvP win ratio tracker on each server, to resolve questions like this
  22. I play engineer, and I have choosen to use the 2 piece bonus from the healing set, and the 2 piece bonus from fieldtech. Not sure if it really matters much, but the 10% better shields for me when i play engineering seems better than other choices, concidering how many shields i can pop during a warzone. I get + 100k healing in almost any warzone that isnt a 3 cap or massacre in voidstar. Lethality has better shields and reduced CD on them, so yea, I guess it might be worth it for you aswell. They are planning to swap some of the set bonuses around though, so this is not gonna be possible for ever.

  24. Orbital is a defense mechanism more than anything. Any half decent player will, unless pulled or pushed or stunned into the area leave long before the initial tick. Which is the point, when I want to make melee classes think twice before trying to walk near me... Concidering arena play, which is the only form of PvP that will matter, Engineers will suffer as a spec if the dmg is nerfed even a little. Engineer currently have three very long CD abilites which potentially can burst down an enemy in Arena's. EP + SoS, Orbital, and Wallbang. And the orbital even requires you to play with a Powertech to pull the target in there. So I hope, if this goes through, that the engineers somehow, will be able to retain thier dmg from orbital. Cause when wall bangs gets nerfed, as it should we will only have EP + SoS left, and thats every 45 sec. Engineers will have no place in arenas then, cause we simply wont be killing anything. Agian, when reading the dev's thoughts on the matter, it seems mostly that they are concerned about the ability from a PvE perspective. But yea, guess we will have to see what changes they actually propose before crying to much about it.
