  1. http://forums.riftgame.com/official-rift-news/patch-notes/145022-rift-1-1-3-30-11-8-00am-pdt-4-00pm-bst.html Rift really doesn't get enough attention or credit. Comparing thier 1.1 and swtors 1.1 is hilarious.
  2. Roll an alt? Hah, get to max level and the thing to do is roll an alt? Awesome. -.- This whole game is terrible.
  3. I hate to say it, but I think WoW looked MUCH better, that scenery wherever the pic was taken was beautiful
  4. This is literally one of the worst MMOs I have ever played. I have been playing these games since I beta tested UO around 15 years ago or so... Why would you release a game like this? This game is almost fully single player, you took the fun and function out of what makes MMOs; MMOs for what? Voice acting? That 95% of the community will space bar through in a month. I know I may be the minority in how I feel, but I think enough people feel this way to make an impact. Lets do this: -no reasonable UI -no targeting abilities -no customization UI at all -no BASIC MMO function that has become the expected standard in these games, these days. You aren't competing with MMOs from 06/07 you are competing with MMOs as they are NOW, why would you release such a basic experience? - the only direction you can go is forward and backward in basically every planet. - the entire game is on rails from start to finish, it feels like one giant corridor with different colored walls - ability delay - lack of creativity in design over all when it comes to classes, functions, instancing...etc - no reason to visit ANY planet you have ever gone to, placing every flash point in one place almost assures this. There is 0 ambiance in this game, no birds, no critters, no nothing in these planets to make me feel like anything but a monster to kill lives there, so interesting. - Planets have nothing interesting but place holder NPCs and some backdrop NPCs that cant even be targetted, there are no POIs or nothing that is a 'wow' factor on any planet I went, underwelmed doesn't even begin to state my feelings. - flash points are more or less terrible and violently uninteresting, I could only stand to run each one once or twice at best, they are just not fun - being in groups isnt fun, targeting is totally screwed - in fact almost everything about this MMO hearkens back to the bad parts of the old school days before people had great ideas in what is fun and taking the tedium out of these games while still maintaining a good challenge, fun and intersting content. - challenge to me doesn't equal more buttons - the wildly obvious FPS lag on tons of machines high end or otherwise, 5% of the population my ***. - low res textures - gear is ugly and there is very little variation in it at all - itemization in general is boring as hell and not even fun, getting a new peice of equipment was never even exciting and I never ran across anything unique. - the fact that I feel, since you, have chained yourself to having fully voiced content, new interesting content will move at a turtles pace, because there is so much more time and work that needs to be spent just to release anything in your voice acting based MMO. - the PvP--- oh god the PvP, just all of it. Everything that has to do with PvP is awful. I have quit many MMOs in my life but I say I have never actually sat here and written out why. Your massive ego and oversight and placing all of your resources in the wrong place. Rumored 300m was spent on this MMO and we got fully voice acted quest system with the most bare bones MMO mechanics I have seen in these games since the mid/late 90s. Someone telling me this is an MMO makes as much sense to me as someone claiming an XBOX game is an MMO, yeah it has multiplayer components, but this game is a single player experience. Which the few classes I played, from a story perspective, cant even hold up the gameplay. You have (in my opinion) screwed up majorly. I will literally never resub to this game again, no matter what changes you make or what 'amazing' content you pull out, this was such a massive let down, I don't care to ever be apart of it again.
  5. way to deliver on your promises: This vid is hilarious
  6. Best graphics in MMO history? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. I'm sorry.
  7. I can't say whether or not GW2 will be for me, but I can actually and honestly say that SWTOR is the first AAA mmo that is literally missing things it is supposed to have. I really feel this way and though it is an opinion, it is a pretty accurate one.
  8. Also I will add that everyone I know that is playing: several close friends, my girlfriend, also just internet people I know, have all been playing MMOs more or less as long as I have and are alrdy burned out on it, for literally all the same reasons. So it goes both ways.
  9. I care because this has been my favorite genre of gaming since i was 12 years old, I am 28 now.
  10. I think alot of us sad because all of the money went to making a single player experience and very little to designing an MMO. I don't think anyone wants this game to fail (at least not many) but we are just bummed because as it is right now because this game is missing. I feel their priorities were really misplaced. Anyone who has seen these kind of crazy numbers at every release has also seen them completely dissipate within the first 3 months or less, I am seeing the same pattern with this game I think time will tell that it is true. AOC/WAR/RIFT were all supposed to be the best ever, 2 barely exist and one has shrank by unbelievable amounts but still maintains a steady base. If they don't nail it within the first 45 days or so, there is little chance to come back from it. IMO I think this game is missing more to it then any AAA title before it.
  11. They should of released it with modern day standards, instead we have a single player game with multi player functions and MMO features that literally feel years old. Rift had 1/4 the budget or less and released with almost every MMO feature you could want right out of the box. UI/Dungeons/Questing/several WFs/world events/dynamic content/.. etc Yes there were bugs, but we weren't missing entire parts of games that make an MMO an MMO. They had all their bases covered when they released and other then QUEs a screwed world event the first month, they nailed it.
  12. No, it is definitely as far as MMO mechanics/UI go, very very far below standards.
  13. You don't but it is very hard for me to deny that they released a very finished SP experience and a very unfinished MMO. This feels like the first MMO I can actually beat.
  14. Ugh, I usually don't jump into these things... it isn't as much about what is working/not working, it is about what is missing. I can list them, but I don't need to, if you read the forums you will see thread after thread of what this game is lacking-- most of these threads aren't looking for mind blowing innovation. They are looking for MMO standards and basics that make an MMO interesting to play, functional and fun. You can say that it hasn't been out for this long or that long or 7 years or whatever, that argument is invalid. These games should be built to compete with current expectations of players and MMO standards. They have had 5(?) years and the largest budget IN VIDEO GAME HISTORY to examine all the good systems, UIs, functions, mechanics and so on, and they chose to release a game that is about as bare bones on the "mmo" parts that make an MMO feel like an MMO as they could. Car companies don't release a car with parts under the hood that 'worked real good' 7 years ago and then just tell their customers to wait while they implement modern day car enhancements and functions. It is the job of this company to release a game that can match and compete with current systems that have more or less become standards of this genre, and for the most part they did exactly the opposite. That is why people are mad, not because they didn't get exactly what they wanted; they didn't get the basic systems and mechanics that are expected in a modern day MMO. I am mad too, I have been playing these games for around 15 years and SWTOR feels years behind the day it released. (also in beta months ago)
