  1. Derp trolling...crashing all the EA servers. DOS attack
  2. LOL so much...done this and actually said "WALL WALL WALL!"
  3. WHAT?! After all the mini-yoga and stretching exercises I've been doing on my left hand?! I swear, I think if I keep it up I'll develop an ADDITIONAL JOINT on those fingers!
  4. If I didn't know better, I'd say that you REALLY want cross-server queues...
  5. I freely admit, there is indeed a learning curve on the controls, and they aren't perfect by any means, I get the occasional "finger strain" trying to 2, E, F1, S all at the same time. Still, with practice, I HARDLY EVER self-destruct anymore.
  6. This has been brought up before, and the consensus seems to be that this inability to multi-queue is a temporary thing, only for early access (which we technically are in until Feb., don't forget). As for "why", I would imagine that it has to do with subs being able to access it at one date and preferred at a later date...GSF had to be split off so that it wouldn't interfere with any other Q'ing during the time when only subs had access to it, and the system will (probably) change at full launch.
  7. ^This. (Grammar and spelling aside...KIDDING, don't get mad). But this point is well made...situational awareness. If you go in for a kill and are so focused on it that you ignore everything else, you're asking for trouble. And if you dive in on a target without scoping around a bit, you're gonna get jumped. As for the "whining", well, I think it's just human nature...everyone likes the ships that they personally love to fly and hates the ones that kill them most often. So yeah, there will be lots of cries of "foul!", "cheater!" and "nerf!". Hopefully the devs are saavy enough to understand this, and any changes made for full release will be well thought out. And hey, it's still technically early access, don't forget...I'm trying to cultivate a "wait and see" attitude, myself.
  8. I admit to having been one of the annoying campers on occasion, although I try to get under the sat, squeeze up tight to the bottom and look DOWN, 'cause that's where they'll be coming from. For the record, I only really do this if a point has changed hands more than twice from lack of defense. At that point I'm like "Okay, fine, if no one else is gonna defend this, then I guess I'll sit here". And I fly Scout, which means it's the only really effective way to hang at a point alone without getting my hard candies shot off fairly quickly.
  9. A deathmatch with a kill-die ratio...that could be fun...although I just pictured 12 gunships sitting just inside the range of their mothership and got a cold chill...
  10. Or maybe management is suidgy about anything server related...I don't know if you were playing at launch, but if you were then you remember the vast number of mostly-empty servers and then all the hoo-hah about merging servers and transferring characters and blah blah blah...I wonder if it might be that non-tech-saavy management just breaks out in a cold sweat at the mention of "server-anything".
  11. Oh, I love the "controls are bad" one. That seems like such a cop-out...so if they sucked at Street Fighter back in the day, did they say there were "too many button combos"? I used to play a PC game called "Starsiege" back in the early 90's, which required a joystick and ALMOST EVERY KEY to play. Oh, and there was an option to use joystick AND mouse. At first I could barely move from point a to point b. (and even when I got the hang of it, I looked like a spastic octopus or something, hands all over the place). If these folks think THESE controls are bad, they must be youngsters who never played a game with REALLY weird controls.
  12. That occurred to me too...right now I am really liking the GSF we have available, but if they introduced other types of matches, who is to say I wouldn't like another type more, and not play "Domination" any more? And yeah, then you have a diluted player base and my queue times, which can already be long (granted I'm on a PVE server) would go through the roof. That would just stink. Maybe the influx of new players at full launch would help compensate? Although I keep reading things about "tons" of new content...let's hope that it isn't SO much that it bewilders new players with options, or just thins out the crowd at every match so much that no one waits in the Q long enough to actually play. As a player with somewhat limited time, I can see just having to log off and do other stuff with too long a wait.
  13. I almost always solo unless there's a friend or two online, so I actually upgraded the range capacitor on my scout so I could see where the other players were. It would be great to be in a group where some scouts had the comms to sneak a peek. I thought about getting it myself, but solo, I can never tell if my teammates would take advantage of it. That might just be a jerky assumption on my part, but I've also gotten to like the damage capacitor and distortion radius copilot skills...
  14. I've had good Tuesdays and bad ones...I think being on a PVE server might be a hindrance, too...sometimes I wait a loooong time in Q.
  15. Hmmm. I think you have much more patience than I do...OR...you're a much better player and can take the time to answer questions without getting massacred. Both are quite possible.
  16. I was thinking of it as more of a tactic for the Dailies/Weekly...just hitting ships as they come back on the field wouldn't get much req, that's true.
  17. Are you saying this as a frustrated new player, or as a more experienced player who is suddenly getting some really easy kills? And I hope you're wrong about the Q pop...it seems to be kinda slow now.
  18. So do you think that they will introduce dogfight-heavy content at launch, something where the kills are the point? I'm just curious what others are thinking/predicting.
  19. You know, I've been wondering about using this as a tactic...I only tried it once, heading to the enemy spawn point to kill 'em before they were ready, and it seemed to work. It seemed to really throw the other side, and we won the match. So you're saying that your premade keeps the enemy pinned just inside the spawn area? Interesting. Cool idea.
  20. On the opposing side? Good teamwork. Specifically, Gunships with buddies and Scouts that sucker away sat defenders. On my side? BAD teamwork. Specifically, grabbing points then INSTANTLY running off to hunt the enemy...and then spending the rest of the (losing) match flying in circles wondering how all those points got taken away.
  21. The reason I ask is, it seems to me, in a "Domination" game where the goal is to capture and defend points, that taking and holding those points should garner MUCH greater rewards than simple "hunt and kill", but as far as I can tell, that isn't the case. It seems as if a player who ignores their team and just racks up kills can get great requisition rewards, even if the team they are on loses the match. I know there has been more content promised at full release, and I can see there being different types of matches..."Domination" being only one type. Will we see straight up "attrition" matches, with victory being based on total kills? Or total kills-versus-deaths? (Wow, THAT could get screwy). What are the thoughts? Anyone want to whip out their crystal ball?
  22. *sigh* Yeah, I know, everything you say is accurate...I just feel like a nudge saying something like this in General Chat, and offering up advice after the match on ops chat at the beginning makes me look like an arrogant jack*****. Also, I don't think F2P players get access to the forums (? do they?), so at general launch it will probably be worse, because they won't even have the OPTION of going here...oh well, I said my piece and did it civilly (I hope).
  23. I have another idea about sensor focus, though I may be wrong...in my experience, I can "see" enemies at the extreme range of my sensor radius, but all I get is a little red box, I have to tab or e it to get info, but when I get closer I get the players name and a health bar...I think sensor focus gives you this info at a greater range. Maybe...thoughts, anyone?
