  1. Cross-server gameplay will ruin my server. My server's community is working correctly. If cross-servers come in, I'll definately be more inclined to unsub. The people on my server have been working, yes working, to make it a better place for pvpers since launch. Cross-server gameplay might be good for PVE servers though. Rolling on a pve server, you're probably going to have WZ insufficiencies, and Bioware you don't want the PVE server to collapse because pvpers refuse to play there. So you make cross-server WZs. But only for PVE servers. When WZs get cleaned up and we can have premade 8v8s, many pvpers will want to play on both PVP servers and the PVE servers that allow for cross-servered WZs, cause the pvp gameplay will be slightly different. This means that pvpers will boost PVE servers that otherwise wouldn't have them. Its a win for all. But if all servers become cross-servered, it'll be a disgusting mess that destroys communities and leads to unsubscriptions of players who are respectful and helpful of their fellow players even as they are killing thier characters. -edit- Maybe have some pvp servers in the cross pools. And some PVE servers be same server only. Players can reroll where they want to go, or even better you could offer character transfers when it happens.
  2. Oh yeah, forgot to mention our 'disappering act' problem. On my server for whatever reason the Imperials can pull me out of stealth after a 'disappearing act' at least half the time. They all have some aoe hotkeyed it seems. Whereas when I watch an assasin or melee agent stealth in combat, they ALWAYS get away. Even when dotted they get around a corner. And we get detected in stealth too often as well. I have 3 points in 'Sneaky' skill as a healer, and I ALWAYS get spotted if I don't have "Sneak" on boosting my stealth. I don't mean to whine on stealth. But in WZs it just underperforms as others have mentioned. And in Huttball I will use a disappearing act maybe twice a game, and that's only time I use stealth. I love Huttball btw and have found ways to compliment many teams as scoundrel heals. How about make it so a 'dirty kick' coming out of stealth hits thru cc immunity?
  3. I only play scoundrel. I'm against us being able to 'triage' force dots and snares, but some class should be able to remove force dots to make Voidstar tolerable. I agree we don't do much damage, but I'm okay with it. It's mostly a factor of our not having enough energy resource to do damage and not that the abilities don't do enough damage individually. "Kolto Cloud" costs too much energy for using in WZs or FPs. In the Ilum 30v30s and 60v60s we have on our server, "Kolto Cloud" is fine as is. And it's fine in the little bit of pve OPs I have done. But for WZs and FPs it's bad. Perhaps all scoundrels can get "Kolto Cloud" as a base advanced class ability with 15 second CD, and Sawbones top tier skill simply lowers the cooldown to 12 seconds, which it is currently, and lowers the energy cost of it.
  4. Hi, I'm not sure if this is board to post this in, but is it possible to have simultaneous combination keys generate new abilities? ex1. If a scoundrel presses both keys for 'charged shot' and "blaster volley' the ability created is a more powerful aoe spray. The ability could of course cost more than the sum of the two individual casts to generate. ex2. If a scoundrel presses both keys for 'thermal grenade' and 'XS Freighter Flyby' instead of the getting either effect, the XS flys by and drops several grenades on the ground that detonate all within 2 seconds. ex3. If a scoundrel presses both keys for 'underworld medicine' and 'kolto pack' he gets a larger heal with a single 2 second cast time, at a slightly larger cost to balance it. Sorry I've only played scoundrel or I'd give more examples. Is there a problem with keyboard technology that prevents simultaneous combination button presses from registering correctly? Is that why I don't see it in any games? The potential of combo keys and the plethora of abilities it could add to games such as ToR, while potentiallly also reducing the number of distinct keys to press, seems worth the effort to develop.
  5. I have no problem with evil characters, I play one. I said that in my post. And if my Republic character could also do some of the things Sith can do, he would. I was making the argument that being evil is enough, and that the game would be better if Sith were outsiders. The politics and infighting would be much more immersive a setting as an mmo than what we have in ToR. I was also making the point that having a 'Nazi-like' faction is really wierd for an mmo. And why anyone who is a fan of the Star Wars movies can say "Hey I want to be a Nazi!" is really bizzarre to me. I suspect immaturity or stupidity, until provided with another reason, other than the possiblity of total apathy to the story and setting of the game by players who just want to shoot lightning.
  6. I think Bioware made a mistake with Sith being playable. It should have just been lightside/darkside and people fight along localized factions for control of the Senate, the Republic, and all its territories. Sith are supposed to be evil, so evil I can't imagine why anyone who is a fan of the Star Wars movies and franchise would want to play them. They are supposed to be more evil than even anything we as humans here on Earth are. And Bioware does a great job at making them close to as evil as us. I want to play with dark force powers and play bounty hunters, but being a world destroying tyrant? Not what I'm looking for, and I'd be fine with being less powerful than Sith npcs because my characters can't be as evil. By the way I play a backstabbing, executing, stealing, lawbreaking, chaos-loving smuggler: evil enough to be a concern for the 'good' people of the Star Wars universe, but no Sith. I know it's cliched but having Sith as a playable faction is like if there was a WWII MMO and you could be Nazi's. I don't know why anyone would want to do that, and that Sith outnumber Republic players on nearly every server is disheartening.
  7. I totally agree GusVIII. George Lucas would do a great job on an expansion. He'd fill it with interesting characters, settings, themes. He'd ask for big bang special effects too I bet, and that'd be a sight to see. With playtesting, he and the guys at Bioware could get the feedback necessary to keep him focused too. He basically said in the interview that he wouldn't make another Star Wars movie cause of all the nasty, disrepectful (my words) criticism he got from Eps. 1-3. And that makes me sad. Cause he created many blockbusters, and the people criticizing him can't even write a short story. Also I thought the love scenes were fine, the characters were both disassociated with how people are supposed to naturally engage in romance as a result of their stations and societies. It made sense that it was awkward. It was a classical representation of such romances from medivial periods when royalties' emotions were confined and they had to explore passion with their minds and not allowed to trust their feelings.
  8. That sounds interesting. I thought Willow was a great story and movie too. I wonder if it will be like that one.
  9. I saw the interview of George Lucas recently where he said he would make no more new Star Wars movies and I became very sad. I was wondering what are the chances that he can come work with Bioware to make his own expansion for ToR?
