  1. I don't think there is a magic formula. All things being equal, they should win 1v1.
  2. Hiya, Here's my rates and corresponding samples: http://battlewraith.deviantart.com/journal/Commissions-295078415

Is there a spec based on Keith Richards?
  4. Hiya, I was running a deal on black and white renderings, I have it listed in my journal. But I'm open to other commissions, just let me know what you're interested in.
  5. I think people underestimate the advantage you actually get from cover. You can't be pulled or interrupted. I'm SS spec, so in addition I get ballistic dampeners and a hunker down that's available about 2 thirds of the time. That's pretty significant when you figure that I also have 2 knockbacks (aimed shot and pulse detonator) and 2 snares (pulse detonator and leg shot). Also aoe armor shield, ranged interrupt, etc. The ballistic dampeners can be refreshed every 6 seconds, so when the opponent is snared or cced I can get up, move away, and plant again to get three more. IMO it's not that gunslingers are super squishy compared to other classes. It's that the tools a gunslinger posseses have to be actively used to stay on top of the situation. If you get caught off guard you can go down pretty fast. But I think that's also the appeal for a lot of people. You have to have some skill and good strategy to make it work and that's why the class is rewarding.
  6. That assumes that you have no team support, no? It's not common for a gunslinger to have much support in pugs, thus the perception that they're an easy target. If someone is actually guarding and/or healing you, your defences are more than adequate to get the nuke off and lay down some damage.
  7. I'm hoping to do some Star Wars commissions soon, but I'll do a few freebies to start. If people are interested, post or link their refs here and I'll pick 3.
  8. Thanks for the replies Here's my friend's commando Satanas: http://i886.photobucket.com/albums/ac66/battlewraith/SatanasDarktimesfin.jpg
  9. Thanks FredeGail! I hope to have more work up here soon
  10. Hiya, I've been doing fanart for other games for several years. Now that I'm playing tor I thought I'd try some in the Star Wars theme. I just have one pic of a twi'lek gunslinger at the moment. But hope to have more soon. Thanks for checking it out. http://i886.photobucket.com/albums/ac66/battlewraith/TwilekGunslingerfin.jpg My gallery is here: battlewraith.deviantart.com
  11. I think most people who play gunslingers know what the issues are. And I think most classes have issues they deal with. Beyond that, fun is subjective. I'm having fun on my GS. I had fun in the 1-49 bracket and I'm having fun in the 50 bracket. As far as I'm concerned, that pretty much makes your post irrelevant. I'm glad that I don't know you and that you aren't trying to enforce your idea of what's fun on me and prevent me from having a good time on builds you don't like. The other main point in this discussion seems to be that Gunslingers will do poorly in ranked warzones with premades. Maybe they will, maybe they won't. When it actually happens, people will be able to see for themselves. Until then, I think the discussion is pointless like the "i don't think it's fun so you shouldn't either" line of bs. Moreover, everything is subject to change. Maybe gunslingers will get buffed. Maybe Sorc/sages will get nerfed. Maybe i'll get a pony with my cowboy hat. Is there nothing better to whine about? If something's bothering you about a class play something else--don't make a public service anouncement.
  12. Hi, I just got my character to 400 biochem in order to start crafting the hi-end reusables. However a main ingredient is a biometric crystal alloy and I have no idea where to get it. People ingame told me they drop from bosses in flashpoints and ops. Are there specific missions I need to do in order to get this? Or do I keep doing flashpoints, etc. in general until one drops randomly?
  13. It depends on what you're fighting. To be honest, sometimes there isn't a whole lot you can do. For example if you are a fresh 50 with little in the way of gear you will go down really fast against someone in full battlemaster. But in general, gear aside, success as a GS, particularly SS build, hinges on good tactical placement of your character and being ready. Also using your powers intelligently. Generally the highest priority for me is being in cover and having hunker down activated. Having protection from interrupts and stuns for 20 seconds is important. If its a melee running in, you can time your aimed shot so that as they reach you it goes off and they are pushed way. you can keep blasting as they come in again, then hit pulse detonator and push them back at range. At that point, you can use your snare to root them and then move away, or flashbang them. Your ballistic dampeners are only good for three shots, but they can be reapplied. So if you take some hits, you can stun or knock someone away, get up, and then put more distance between you and the target and get back in cover which will apply three more. I think you can reapply every 6 seconds, which isn't bad. If you're fighting something like a sorcerer or another ranged toon, using your interrupt at the right time, getting up and breaking los, etc. are going to be important.
  14. Hi, I recently hit 50 and have started getting champion gear for my gs. Is there a specific set of blasters that can be used in the off hand?
