  1. Well, it's not going to make an entirely huge difference, but you could get oil slick, for one, which is another move to try and help mitigate damage, but other than that you can get Power Armor in Advanced Prototype to get an extra 2% reduction, but like I said, this isn't a perfect fix. Honestly, I'm not sure why you are having so much of an issue... edit: I wanted to add something I had read from the Sith Assassin codex explaining their observation on tank differences... And from the BH forums: (The point of this was the focus on shield/absorption).
  2. That is my opening move! I run to the side of an acid pool when huttball starts...wait for some unsuspecting bloke to pick up the ball and...burnt alive in acid, away from their precious friends.
  3. The way you could tell this is by looking at the color for the quests, and if that doesn't work then look at the cost. The better quests cost more money. But, thinking off the top of my head, I want to say it is: Moderate > Abundant > Bountiful > Rich. Those are the only 4 ranks you will normally get for missions. There is one other, although I couldn't remember the name (if even has a unique name), but if you get a mission schematic it will give you a one-time-use for a mission that will yield the highest amount from a mission.
  4. Trolltoll, of the Boy's-soul legacy. You gotta pay the troll toll if you wanna get the boy's...soul. (it's always sunny, anyone?) Plus I'm a BH, requesting payment for things is suitable. *mustache twist*
  5. 1. I don't understand the question. When you crush something with RE, you have a chance of getting a critical. Green to blue, blue to purple. If you crit, it will give a message. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=45866 for more information. 2. The bonus of +10 is relative to the time it takes to perform the crafting/mission. It reduces it by a porportion tha tI am sure is answered elsewhere...but I don't know offhand. 3. Slicing is a secondary profession. If you look in your codex, you can see what it pairs best with. If you're looking for just making money, check this thread out: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=132015. That will give you a list of skills best for your class, and it's helpful. 4. Be careful about how quickly you burn out your funds while sending companions on missions . Unfortunately, guides are not terribly common yet. They will eventually show up.
  6. My friend was having this issue last night and I hope I can shed some light on this (he was having it with artifice). There appears to be a bug that new trainable schematics aren't appearing shorting after you reach the appropriate skill level requirements. If you click the dropdown to show "all" rather than "trainable," or you relog/perhaps leave the zone area, it should refresh it. There are patterns, it's simply not populating. Try any of the above mentioned things...if it doesn't work, open a ticket.
  7. I play a tank powertech, and I honestly have no issues in pvp. I don't get the 2.5k hits, but I do solid sustained and aoe, and take a lot to die. Plus, grappling people into acid pools then stunning them in it is a good way to giggle in Huttball. You'd be hard pressed to not see me with 6+ medals a game, and in the top 3 for damage overall, plus a solid amount of protection. Do I think I'm OP? Eh, not really. Perhaps I haven't played against enough 50's to really know the full ins-and-outs of the pvp for this game, but I haven't seen any real "issues" with fighting other classes. But then again, I'm a tank...I should take less damage.
  8. Lord, do you have any idea what you are asking? Eesh, here goes. SWG had some lovely aspects to it, such as: a rich variety of races to play, along with the ability to shape each character to be what ever class you wanted to play. Want to be a Bounty Hunter? Level up to gain access to that tree by spending your exp accordingly. You are only given one character per server, so roll your character the way you need to. Massive world to explore with lots of creatures to find. Many many class choices, and they all felt very "Star Wars." Space combat was vast, and could feel like a challenge at times. Grave reliance on the community and players. You needed to have musicians and dancers so that you could heal your wounds in the cantina. Equipment was primarily crafted, and so you needed people to be armor crafters, architects, and weapon makers. You needed parties to do missions that were around your level (aside from a few exceptions). There was a sense of community when I played it, and it is one of the only things that kept me playing at the time. Some Bad things: [*]World was massive but replicated with much of the same throughout. [*] Missions (quests) were little more than a "go to there, kill these mosters and their spawn base, return for money." [*] It was entirely a grind game. Every class tree required substantial grind. The worst offender was to be come "force sensitive" and eventually a Jedi. The original system was "master as many trees, in a non-sequential random order that will never be made known to you, and hope you pick it correct." Then, if you did become force senitive, you had something like 2 deaths, then you were perma dead. [*]Never felt like there was "end-game" things to do, perhaps I just missed out on the various areas you could go to with a larger group, but the universe felt empty to me. Honestly, SW:TOR is a huge improvement in terms of an MMO. The fact that BioWare put their stamp on it says a lot, as their games are phenominal. This game is rich, and filled with life, while still maintaining the Star Wars and MMO feeling. My only complaints over this game would be: Few races to choose from. I wish I could be a Kel'dor, and this makes me very sad that I can't be. Minor gripe, really. I miss being a creature handler in SWG. Going out and taming a Graul for a pet, then making him whomp on things was awesome. Just don't really have a pet class so much in this, replaced with companions that are sweet, and useful, just not as awesome as a Rancor or Graul.Auction house is unfriendly. SWG's was quite nice, but really, it isn't a terribly difficult fix I'm sure, and I am sure there is a reason BioWare did it the way they did. I hope.It would be nice to be able to decorate my ship (player housing). You could do so in SWG and it was a neat thing to go out and find a giant rancor skull and place it on your coffee table. Really, these are minor issues at best for me. The game is involving, and emersing, and I appreciate it. The grind in SWG was a HUGE deterrant for me, that and the fact that force use was damn near punished, and that was not cool. Hope this helps?
  9. Eesh, was intending to lighten the mood. I am going to continue playing a tank so long as one is needed; which is...forever. Granted I'll have alts, sure, but for the control freaks on the field, nothing is better than a tank . I know what it is like to have bad tanks, from being in other games, but I enjoy the added responsibility. I am actually a huge fan of the companions as viable alternative characters. Mako has healed BT for me and some friends many-a-time now. Granted, it's a very low level FP, but the point remains that there is always something to fill the needed roll, even if it will never live up to the potential of human control. Smitten by the game, and will stay so for a while, I'm sure.
  10. I guess that since I play a tank I either have no true input to this post or...I should take away from it that I am not needed and useless. Got it, I'll go back to my dark corner now.
  11. Trollololol, lololol, lololol, lololol. Trollololol, lololol, lololol. Seriously, the post made it clear of its intent, and it has been restated 42 times now as to what skill was being talked about. Silly players are just silly people.
  12. Hate to say it, but your suggestions sound like things implemented in FTP games, and they are some of the biggest annoyances for a new player. The spamming for credit sales will be far less likely until a "free demo" is implemented; although it is always an reality no matter the phase of the game. I'm sure that this is not something new to BioWare, and one would hope that they didn't overlook something so common as "credit spammers in the future." I give them a little more credit than that. (see what I did there?)
