  1. You can put down your crystal clear Biodrone attitude and start comprehending what people want.

If Bioware hadn't made WoW 0.5 in space there would be quite many more happy customers. Instead they offered a one time experience with inferior MMO-mechanics. If you come from SRPG and specially KOTOR-games you are probably blown away with this game.

If you have MMO-experience and are still amazed by this game (and I'm not speaking about artwork, that is well made Star Wars), then I have a suggestion to you concerning about one particular bridge in London.

I'm guessing your "MMO experience" amounts to WoW, and a couple of short stints with Rift and Warhammer Online.

Most of the complaints I see around here can be summed up as, "this game should be more like WoW". The remainder (from the same people, generally) are that it's just "WoW in space".

    :/

  2. How your character is specced makes a pretty big difference in what role you play, and how you play. A healing Operative is very different from a Concealment Operative, for instance.

It'd be nice if people could display that somehow, so you have a little more idea of what you're getting up front.

Say, once a Scoundrel has invested X amount of points into the Sawbones spec, give them a title like Doctor. That sort of thing.

  3. Seems like the Agent storyline is pretty often considered the best one. It really surprised me, too-- since Agent was the one class I looked at in the list back when the game was in Beta and thought, "well there's the crap one".

Imperial Agent is one of the best storylines I've ever seen in a game. One of the things that makes it good, I think, is that it doesn't feel like it's trying to pigeonhole you as either a 'good guy' or a 'bad guy', and your character kind of feels like he grows over the course of the plot.

  4. I have a hard time telling what 'light side" and "dark side" are meant to be anyway. If light side is anything that isn't purely dispassionate and selfless, and dark side is anything that's driven by emotion, ok... but that's pretty meaningless.

Genocides have been carried out by people who claimed to be motivated by a dispassionate pursuit of an ideal, and great things are done in the name of friendship, or love, or even anger.

Meh. I think the problem is that the whole thing is just a shallow construct for a lot of not-so-consistent fiction.

  5. Boba can disagree all he wants, but all he ever did was stand at the side of greater men and get pwned by Han Solo by accident. I really never understood why he was popular. He never actually did anything cool whatsoever in the movies. I guess standing around holding a rifle was the cool thing back in the 80s.

C'mon, he does seem pretty cool in the movies. You never see him do much, but he ends up being the guy to capture the target nonetheless. And he's a regular guy who talks all snarky to Darth Vader.
