  1. I don't think GW2 is pvp oriented. Sure, it has a brilliantly designed pvp system, but they have also created an incredibly vast pve experience, and you'd be doing yourself a disservice in ignoring it.
  2. SWTOR will never be able to match what ArenaNet has done PVP-wise. At most , expect to see new warzones (there's one coming out "soon"), and updated class balance. I doubt there will be world pvp because the engine simply is unable to handle it.
  3. This has been a problem since the event went up.
  4. This is the thing I hate the most about this game. I don't even want it mentioned anymore because BioWare would do a poor job of it. I wish Obsidian would make Kotor 3
  5. I don't think a broken patch that damages more stuff than it fixes would do anything at this point. The people who've moved on have left already, and they will probably not come back. The only thing BW can do is try to hold on to the players they have.
  6. It actually is a problem with SWTOR as well. The class stories are, what? 10% of the content? Every time you level up an alt, you're going to be playing the exact same stuff for the most part, just like Rift.
  7. I agree. Gameplay wise, they will never be able to compete with GW2. The biggest problem, I think, is that the stories themselves are nowhere near the quality of previous BW games. I'm a big fan of Kotor and Kotor 2, so the Kotor 3 aspect of the game, the Jedi Knight story, is one that I was really anticipating, but it was dreadful. Everything I loved about Revan and the Exile, Kreia, all of that wonder was mauled. Really, other than the Agent and maybe the Sith Warrior stories, the rest of them are really generic by the books BioWare.
  8. Same issue here, same server. Started getting random fps drops all of a sudden.
  9. I thought it would have been the smart move to offer new content before gw2 shows up, honestly.
  10. This. There's been hordes of failed mmo's, and pretty much all of them are either terrible games, or incredibly lackluster launches. Blaming SWTOR's failures on the mmo market rather than on its dated concepts and wow-clone design is silly.
  11. I made an inquisitor to play through the story, and I was wondering which ac would suit me better. I intend to do mostly pve, with pvp on the side when I get bored, as well as flashpoints. I won't do any endgame whatsoever. If I play a sorc, I think I would go the healer route, but after 1.2 I remember I kept running out of force whenever I healed anything, even a heroic. I don't have any experience with assassins at all, so I wouldn't know where to start with those. Suggestions? Thanks!
  12. The problem with that is the original GW could barely be described as an MMO. It was more of an online RPG. The vast majority of the world was completely instanced, and you can easily play the game without speaking to another soul. Also, WoW wasn't doing anywhere near as badly then as SWTOR is now. GW2 is an MMO proper, with instances only for the personal story and dungeons, and SWTOR is in a much more delicate state.
  13. The problem with the bolded is, quite simply, why on earth would anyone continue to pay 15/month if they purchased a game that does literally everything else SWTOR does better, with no subscription? The only thing SWTOR does better than GW2 at this point might be the story, but that's a might because no one knows how GW2's story is.
  14. I don't think putting a patch on the test server is going to help BW keep players from going over to GW2. They should have it live by the time it releases
  15. I never said features are content. 1.2 has content in the new warzone. The main point is that they should release new things to do in a timely manner, otherwise why am I giving them money every month?
  16. I think the game launched with enough content. The problem is BW is very slow to update. The last content patch released was 1.2 in April, and it was soured by massive nerfs to almost every single class. So, 4 months since any new content, coupled with a broken engine, horrid pvp, and bugs still left over from beta, all amount to why people are complaining. Take Rift for example, they release a *lot* of new content every two months, more than the one fp and warzone we got in 1.2. Guild Wars 2 will launch with plenty of content, and ArenaNet has already proven that they can add content pretty fast. The finale for the last beta weekend was implemented in a mere 12 hours, to show how they can use their technology to quickly release new stuff to do. It's silly to expect 60 dungeons at release. In fact, it would be overkill, and would only confuse many players. However, the lack of updates is what kills it.
  17. With the game bleeding subs still, it's logical to say that its potential will be pretty hard to be realized at this point. Sure it's still early, but it's not going to get better
  18. Stop comparing SWTOR with how WoW was 8 years ago. If it can't keep a quality consistent with games currently on the market, why would anyone play it?
  19. I don't think SWTOR will see world pvp anytime soon because the engine simply can't handle it.
  20. Didn't read all 22 pages, but the reason investors say that swtor is a failure is because the profit simply didn't match the risk. They took on a massive risk, with the game costing at least 200M to produce, and with that risk, a good profit is expected. Right now we're not even sure they made back the initial investment, and if they did the profits would be marginal, so the risk was nowhere worth the investment.

    pvp sucks

1-49 pvp is pretty fun I think, but level 50 pvp is horrid. Playing GW2 pvp for a full day last weekend only reaffirmed my opinion.
  22. Are you sure? I remember seeing on the launcher that it was on the 30th, but I might be mistaken!
  23. If you don't move them by the 30th they will be forcibly removed, but they didn't say what would happen if the destination server was full. Typical. As for the OP, my reasons for not transferring were because on my new server, I managed to nab a great legacy name, while my old one had a rather crappier one by comparison, but much higher leveled. I've been trying to get my new legacy to a higher level as for it to not be deleted when they force the transfers, but I got sick of the game eventually, and decided to play it safe and delete every character on my old server in case I decide to resub in the future, however unlikely.
  24. I believe they will. ArenaNet has been doing pretty well with this model for 7 years already with GW1. On topic, I don't see why BW wouldn't make the game buy to play. Pay 60 dollars for the disk/download, and then have it without monthly fees. Surely it would be a better option than what we have now, and as much as this game has flaws, I think it might still be worth a one time purchase.
  25. Last time they added content was in mid April, and that was soured with every class getting nerfed. So, new content every four months is good? Why would that justify 15 dollars a month?
