  1. Thank you for providing an option to transfer to one of the two servers. There is another question though, which concerns minority like me. What if my beloved gameplay is RP-PVP, and I still believe they will do something about it? Because of this I feel like staying on LC until any communication will be done concerning the future of the server. Are there plans to take some action to improve RP-PVP gameplay experience, which is killed now? If it would be clear NO, I think I would move to The Progenitor, but only after a clear answer. Thanks again!
  2. OK. Let's be straight enough. A little background: I'm in general positive person, as well as I have experience with creative industries and management in the field. To my understanding the following points are appropriate: 1. Each decision like this includes choosing lesser evil, and surely people try to make it as flawless as possible, also according to the strategic goals, values of the company they are working for etc 2. This decision (free transfer to PvP from RP-PvP server) definitely was not the lesser evil. It could have been predicted, however I think the data (which is accessible to the company) on player behaviour would confirm it already 3. Customers you are aiming for have different values, so in case of mass product you try to approach wider audience and people with different values 4. There are people who have a mindset and values fit for RP-PVP. RP PVP is definitely not closer to the values of PVP. 5. All the transfer process in Lord Calypho situation was not a good solution to retain customers with this particular values. I bet, some of the people who did transfer, feel (or will start to feel) cheated and that they were not provided the right amount of information where are they transfering and what is the cost of it 6. People who decided to remain...I know, it was probably good intention, but in last post community representative stated, that they encourage people who enjoy RP-PVP to remain on server. That sounds absolutly cynical, as there is NO encouragement in ANY form of action, reality is completely vice versa. The game definitely wasn't intended to be played as it is now on empty server. So where is this encouragement? You are kidding me?? 7. People who are rolling alts on another RP-PVP (NA) or RP (EU) servers also feel/will feel alienated because of losing their stuff, friends, legacy, history etc on LC 8. Now imagine the feelings of all mentioned players, when they will realise, that to sort things out in any way they will have to pay for transfers. (Note: I'm sure, that there is no technical problem to make free transfers to several servers, it is corporate policy to enable more revenue from paid transfers) 9. RP-PVP crowd is not the biggest one, but one of the more mature, stable and loyal group of clients (I wonder, if company is analysing their numbers, they would see it right away). It doesn't pay for itself, but also contributes towards creating decent environment to attract more clients who try product out 10. Corporate policy with focus only on revenue will take you nowhere. From the facts, I can clearly say, that this game is either managed unprofessionaly, or the main focus is on $$$ and greed (one of the worst corporate values) contribute towards the fail. Of course, you can make quick buck today if you do not care about the product on the long term. But it's not the case anymore in our ever-changing reality. Please, don't be shortsighted or you will lose. And - the most important - passion matters, not money. Company has to be passionate about how they create or run their product, not only say it in PR. People will feel it in the end...
  3. Still staying. Some of us even try to do something - establishing a guild which could incorporate all remaining active LC players (republic side for now) in one place, so at least some gameplay is possible.
  4. Indeed, but RP servers usually have more name-decent crowd, as well as people who actually report completely inappropriate names (according to the naming rules) more frequently Indeed, I used wrong expression
  5. Just to state (if that means anything..) - I will not use the current transfer. RP server naming rules, as well as the fact, that some of my character names are taken are too important for me. The disgust being 1 of the total 3 players on the fleet will make me rather quit the game, than move to current free transfer choice. EDIT: Oh, and by the way, I investigated the target server, as well as name availability. I think some of the people who transfered, will feel disgusted too after some time. It's just, that RP or RP-PVP servers have different mentality. There are not enough warning on the way too. I'm pretty sure, that some of the people transfered with a thought, that they will retain their names (a point about this in a FAQ after 3 clicks is not enough to realize it).
  6. It was stated in a way already, but I would lke to emphasize again, that I would rather stay on dying server and move only to RP-PVP one in another continent (or even with another language). Why? 1. Can't stand seeing lorebreaking, stupid, leet, copied, ascii'ed etc names, and you have much less of this on RP servers (name policies exist) 2. PVP! it's much more fun to be able to kill/die/run/chase other faction players if you see them. 3. PVP servers usually have more dedicated gameplay in warzones 4. RP servers tend to have more mature (physically and/or psychologically) population That was the reason for me to choose RP-PVP, and as all 4 points are important.. It should be possible to retain them.
  7. Yes! Please, it should be just a couple lines of code needed fixing. There is no possibility to play music like in lotro, so gives us back a droid at least. And holo dancer. Indeed - I was shocked, when my dancer became not "holo" anymore, just some weird twi'lek with sith corruption around her eyes! Too much stress for my poor characters, some of them had to start taking meds after this had happened There was something in patch notes about fixing holodancers, so they can't be targeted by skills. Well somebody solved this apparently by making them non-holo non-dancing Pretty please with a cherry on top!
  8. Someone should hire us to design such encounters Anyway, Im glad there are more people, who understand this. Comparing it to dance steps is indeed very exact. And the problem of it being the same all the time is also true, exactly that leads to "work" connected to the raid encounters. You practice a lot and you achieve it. However, it just means, that if you invest enough time and energy, you will reach it. It is not very exciting for me personally. I would prefer "improvisation", which is, that you still have some things "set up", but you can switch roles and react to what's happening, so it's not just practice and perfect implementation. Of course, there are people who have fun with the 'traditional' option, and it's great, just not for me. Another comparison: a) (raiding now) classical pianist, who is practicing 5-8 hours a day to perfectly perform Liszt or Chopin b) ("AI" raiding) jazz pianist, who is more focused on improvising and listening to other ensemble members, as well as switching roles with them and reacting to the music "flow"
  9. A meaning of casual player (in an MMO) for me (which is probably also about me) is: 1. Player, who has no commitments and can come and go as he wishes (no raid or instance times, no responsibilities in guilds etc.) 2. Player, who is focusing more on what is fun for him, with no sense of having to work "hard" or be serious about anything in-game related 3. The sense of "freedom" and in general relaxed and mature atmosphere (in psychological sense) is much important aspect Personally for me, when I go into virtual world, I want to rest from work and routine in real world (even though I love my work and life), so it's no way I will start "working" in a game. It doesn't relate much to playing time, which can be sometimes up to 5 hours per day, but it tends to be irregular. Which means, any time I log off I do not know when I will log on, for how long and if I will at all I played one and only MMO 4 years casually, I would say, I could compare my knowledge of game and class, as well as skills with so called "hardcore" players, but it's just that all the points above were important and very much true for me.
  10. Well, it didn't work out, as you remember, as Starkiller started fighting the Palp, wisely avoiding his force lightning. I'm pretty sure, there were at least a few moments, which should have been quite humiliating for the Emperor.. Anyway, I just had in mind, that story told by different storytellers and using same characters often has inconsistency. Plus, all this Sith stuff is overrated. They always lose, and - - what can you expect of individuals, who name themselves with an anagram of $%!#! (joking) this guy is definitely stronger:
  11. The problem with the godlike Palpatine is, that Galen Marek somehow managed to defeat him without any companions.. Well, it's the problem of having a lot of EU writers.. And make players happy and "epic" in every new game
  12. Then why would you need live players raiding with you then? Scripted robot players would do better. It's all about fun, isn't it? However, looking from aside both mine and your perspectives are right. It's our own decision how to play and with whom to play. It's a clash, when people with different values group to achieve the same thing. The point is, that damage meters are not "objectively" needed. Some people need it, some don't. Of course, there is no reason not to have them for people who "need" them. Just not everybody does.
  13. Statistics and metrics can be often misguiding, as they do not take any circumstances and "human" stuff into account. I mean, its much more important what kind of people your guildies are and is it fun doing content with them. All this "know the performance so you can improve" is illusion IMHO.. You do not have metrics in life (how good father or bad husband you are), but still, somehow you get a "feeling" about your "performance" anyway, its just it is not so cold and empty as just having numbers.
  14. If understood right, I can relate to the OP. I've tried "serious" raiding in other game.. Well, for me it feels more job than fun. Main problems - no versatility in your role and boss scripting. What I would consider innovation in raiding, would be - 1. removal of class roles (well now its not only dps, heal or tank - you also must be aware of surroundings or move when needed somewhere, or run, or hide or whatever, you may have secondary role, but still - there is one main role you perform, it's always the same and in the end there is no versatility in it.. as well as in gear - to perform this role best there is always a best gear with best stats for it). So in the end that you just react to situation and use skills accordingly, and you can choose, which skill to use in that particular situation 2. shift from scripting to AI, so bosses each time behave differently (which very much connects to the first point) That would make raiding interesting for me. Beating script isn't so much challenging, even if boss is "very hard". AI based approach would be also good training for brains..creativity, intellect and reaction.. Does it make sense?
  15. Fine opinion, which again outlines that every creation strives from the values and socio-cultural environment of its age. Just one little notice - if you talk about "works of art", you can't actually name one or another as "superior". They just are - coexist in their own paradigms. Superiority is a subjective matter.
  16. It's subjective probably, but in general I like all the "reality" of traveling between planets. I remember myself even walking through planetary station, it really feels nice! On other hand, it might get repetitive after hundreth time, and routine kills fun. As was stated many times before - probably the ability to summon other players (which probably will be implemented somewhere in the coming year) will solve this frustration. Such a long thread dedicated to this! And I'm making it LONGER
