  1. +1 This is essentially the main complaint from subscribers (like me) about this system.
  2. In such a model subs should get bonus items and content. IE Newest zones subs only (or unrestricted sub only). Sub only races/classes. Bonus XP, the monthly Cartel Coins etc. I see the argument of such a system discouraging subs yet other games have used, and continue to use it.
  3. One round of dailies more than covers all that crafting and saves loads of time to grind gear/cash on high level planets
  4. Except I can also craft all the orange stuff and still have tokens
  5. You mean the purple lock boxes from the fleet vendor from space rewards cause my ship is fully modded? Yes I buy them. How about when I have a ton of left over tokens from a planet? Yes I buy the purple lock boxes. Or do you mean the credit boxes from slicing missions? Yes I use those too. It's more limiting than it seems
  6. You mean if you want basic game mechanics pay for them. Seriously limited quest rewards for F2P accounts? By far, dumbest idea in an MMO I've ever heard. I expect 90+% of preferred players to not stick around after seeing all the basic stuff that got taken away.
  7. For the record I'm a subscriber. So criticizing me for "not paying for the game" is absolutely pointless. I'm merely voicing a concern about the long term viability of their "subscription solution."
  8. Exactly but as the forums show people are saying these free changes aren't enjoyable. Pretty much undermines the entire purpose of the change. Now granted the vocal people are always the complainers and BW / EA will make more money with this system then they were before. The question is, does the income hit the target? I'm betting not.
  9. Oh don't get me wrong I agree. Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free? Unless they go with a GW2 / NWN type store only model (which they seem completely against). But I think the restrictions they chose though create a very poor environment for growing a new fan base.
  10. If no one continues to play after F2P this model is a failure. The complaints are the restrictions, especially for preferred players, are going to lead to people not subbing. If they felt the game wasn't worth $15 before why would creating an unpleasant game environment change that? The only way this F2P model leads to more subs is if new people, who were turned off by the idea of paying $15 a month decide they like it enough to pay $15. It really doesn't make any sense to me. IMO would have been totally better off with less restrictions and more cartel stuff.
  11. Could not agree more. This F2P model restricts basic game elements in an attempt to revive sub numbers. I expect this to completely fail. IMO using a GW2 / NWN type F2P system with microtrans for cosmetics (hell even XP/Valor boosts would be reasonable to me) would have been a much better long term solution. But this is EA after all, what else should we expect
  12. I was rather disappointed with companions too. Outside of Mako I found the other BH companions to be utterly worthless for leveling as they required too much downtime between fights.
  13. Don't know how Rep ends but the Imp ending for Belsavis was just awesome to watch
  14. I actually hated Voss, more for the story than art work. Quesh & Belsavis were my fav 2
  15. Depending on which faction/server you on you may earn enough Warzone comms doing your dailies to buy an additional bag each day or you can just farm them if you enjoy the PvP enough to commit that kind of time to it.
  16. Do your dailies, the mods are well worth the time. Do you PvP & Ilum weeklies (reset Tues 7 am EST) worth 3 Champ bags each every week. You can just fly to Ilum to do the daily/weekly but I can almost give you a 100% guarantee the factions just trade and don't actually PvP. The PvP bags are so random I wouldn't save for the 1000 caps. On my main I've opened almost 40 bags and only gotten 3 pieces of gear, my friend hit 50 like 2 days ago and has gotten an item from almost every single one and is already nearly fully purpled out.
  17. Agreed. This game was marketed based on it's story, which I agree is better than every other MMO I've played. However, it doesn't exist at 50 which is a huge problem imo. They got away from their strength, the story, and they don't do the end game grind content as well as others.
  18. I lol'd irl here. I got my Hot Shot pilot title on my 2nd try of the final space battle. It was easy once I saw what they changed from the last mission using this map. Sure some people may have issues, I personally didn't.
  19. The internet's anonymity brings out the worst in people. When you don't have to worry about getting punched in the face many people forget their manners.
  20. 1: Run Flash Points. - No point at 50, your orange gear + mods are better than most, if not all, gear that drops 2: Run Hard Mode Flash Points. - Most of these are bugged and not currently worth the time investment as orange + daily mods = better 3: Do daily repeatable quests on Illum for gear upgrades or just for credits or just for (gasp) fun. - Don't find these fun, the PvP daily/weekly is a joke as everyone just trades and credits are easy to make without doing dailies. 4: Do repeatable group quests on other planets, some of which have specific goals in mind, for instance, there is a planet where you can do daily group quests that reward orange level gear specifically for your companions. - Again see the reasoning behind #1 5: Craft. Believe it or not, some people LOVe doing this and it is actually quite entertaining in this game. - Crafting is done by your companions, requires no investment on your part other than REing items 6: PVP. It's pretty good here. Lots of reasons to do this, particularly with the coming ranking system. This will keep some people very busy for days on end. - Couldn't disagree more. The warzones are very basic and in it's current state I don't find any enjoyment in these. 7: Socialize. Yes, people do still like to just "hang out" and have fun shooting the breeze. Get in there and meet new people you anti-social gits! - First thing on the list I can agree with. Lot of former WoW guildies I haven't talked to in forever have moved here, only reason I'm still around at this point. 8: Space Combat. Many people enjoy this very much. - It's like 5 maps where the stuff doesn't die as fast and they throw in a super ship. Super easy and insanely repetitive. 9: Run normal mode, 8 man operations. Some good story here and very simple to organize and complete. - No different than WoW, once you've seen it it isn't new and the nonstop grind for gear killed my interest in WoW long ago.
  21. There's several good ideas here and Bioware apparently is reading this thread as a Dev linked another forum post here. The account datacron idea is amazing. I can't stomach the idea of farming every datacron on 1 toon, let alone every single one I make. This would be a great addition. The biggest problem I have with this game is the leveling, Yes, it's way better than any other MMO I've played, but it's no where near as compelling as I hoped. It's not that the class stories aren't good, it's that they're so short. They account for maybe 10% of your leveling experience. That leaves the other 90% doing quests you've already completed on your main. There is hardly any difference between the light and dark choices, I have leveled 2 toons to 50, one light and 1 dark, the choices by no means can be counted as a separate story. Since this game is centered around giving a better questing experience I think these are major flaws. An introduction of more planets to choose from and/or and expansion of the class stories would be a huge lift to the repetitive nature of leveling that sadly even this game falls into. On another forum post someone suggested starting planets based on races instead of classes. I think this would be a much better idea. Would add variety and allow for a more individualized feel to each character, ie a Chiss BH has a bit of a different story on their home planet than an IA would. This would also allow the current starting planets to be used as the second stage to advance the class stories and perhaps allowing the tweaking of some existing planets level ranges.
  22. Agreed. I have 2 50s and can't bring myself to level another alt. There's hardly any difference between light and dark choices, I leveled 1 of each. I cannot bring myself to go through Balmorra again, the only thing that would interest me at this point is running a Republic toon to 50 but even that has minimal motivation as I know once I hit 50 I'll just be in the same boat again.
  23. BH 50 BH 50 yes BH x2, different servers SI 30 Trooper 25 IA 13
