  1. I leveled up my sorc from 10 to 50 in pvp and have tried out quite a few specs including one very similar to yours. Not saying I'm an expert or anything, but I do at least have some idea of what's going on. I use a more healer oriented build as I pick up Resplendence and Healing Trance. With these, you rarely go out of mana while healing. http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#600GGrRbd0dMZf00MZcM0M.1 As far as your build goes: If you are going that deep into the healing tree, pick up Healing Trance. It's our best heal outside of our bubble. I'd argue that Valiance + Egress just isn't worth it. You are using 4 talent points just to get 20% speed boost for only 3 seconds when you cast a bubble. Granted you cast bubbles often, but I've never been impressed with this talent. I'd pick it up if it I needed to only spend a single talent on it. Instead, I would pick up Psychic Suffusion and Wisdom. That's +2% healing and +10% aoe damage. This will affect your channeled earthquake and Force in Balance. I personally prefer Critical Kinesis over Upheaval seeing as I cast Telekinetic Throw quite a bit more often than I do Project. It's cheaper and the snare is very powerful. However, I can see arguments for Upheaval. The main problem I see with your build though is the fact that you aren't going to be able to sustain healing when healing needs to be heavy and you aren't going to be doing very much damage. I'd suggest you check out the sithwarrior.com forums. There is a log of good discussion on pvp sorc.
  2. I'm currently a level 49 healer and I've leveled up in warzones as a healer since level 10. I have to say that if you aren't getting the 10 and 25 kill medals as a healer then you should probably rethink how you are healing. I don't play for medals. I couldn't care less about them. I do play with some dps thrown in because I believe it's the most helpful for the team. I'm pvp spec'd so I don't have an aoe heal, but I'll still do around 400k in a warzone. As a sorc, we have the aoe knockback. You not only "tag" everyone you hit with this, but you also disrupt them as well, which means they don't do damage for a bit. We also have a stun that will both tag someone and also prevent damage. Doing this by itself should award you with the 10 kills medal every time. If you aren't doing dps some times as a healer, then there are serious issues. A teammate isn't going to be on the verge of dieing all the time in which case you should go on the offensive. I'll typically target an enemy who is around 30% or less hp and start to dps them if none of my teammates are going to die without my heals in the next 4-5 seconds. Our lightning or telekinetic throw has a very nice snare on it so the enemy can not run away easily. I'll typically channel and then throw a rock at them. This not only ensures that the enemy dies, but it also makes them die faster and reduces the damage that the enemy is able to do before they die. That said, I rarely get the 75k damage metal though that'll probably change once I get better gear. Below are the medals I can get in most fights: Medic – 2.5k healing from a single heal Healer - Healing 75K Savior - Healing 300K Quick Draw – Getting a killing blow on one player Commando – Killing 10 enemy players Soldier – Killing 25 enemy players Defender – Earning 1k Defender Points Warden - Earning 3k Defender Points Once in a while I'll get these, but it's very uncommon. Assassin – Killing a player in a one-on-one fight Combatant – Dealing 75k damage
  3. Bolstering Bolstering works and it makes the 10-49 bracket not only get queues quickly, but it also makes them quite enjoyable. Making it more tier based will severely hinder the ability to pvp at a lower levels. Even as a level 20 healer I felt very useful in the BG (I'm level 48 now). They may consider bolstering hp and perhaps resource regen based on level, but even if they don't it's still fun. Premades The premade vs premade is a good idea, but don't punish people who simply queue with a friend. I would say that if you choose to queue with 3 other people, then yes you should be in with others that choose to do this. Otherwise keep it as is. Battlemaster vs new level 50s I haven't had the "pleasure" of dealing with this yet, but I will in a couple of days. However, if it's as bad as people say then I don't think the fix is separating out the battlemasters. The fix is to lessen the gap between the two. Queue times You may not mind long queue times, but it is the one and only thing that kept me from enjoying pvp in WoW. I was a full time raider there. Here, I've leveled up my toon purely in warzones because I enjoy the pvp so much. The way Bioware has handled pvp queue times has been phenomenal. Random Warzones I actually liked how Blizzard did this. You could either choose the default (random) or you could pick which warzone you wanted. You just had an understanding that if you picked a specific warzone, you'd have a longer queue time. This solution worked quite well. That said, there need to be more warzones that can be same align vs same align. It can get tiresome running hutball over and over again, but it's better than just sitting there waiting in queue in my opinion.
  4. I read the patch notes just like you did. To me, mission rewards are the valor/xp/commendations from completing a warzone. I would think doing a warzone is a warzone mission just like a space minigame is a space mission. The current bug prevents you from advancing in a daily/weekly mission. It doesn't prevent you from receiving the mission rewards when/if you are able to complete the mission. Regardless, there is obviously still an issue they need to address. Hopefully they will get to it soon.
  5. I think he hit the nail on the head. There were 2 bugs. One which prevented people from getting credit for the quests (this one has *not* been fixed) and one which prevented people from getting the rewards for simply completing a warzone (this one apparently *has* been fixed). I'm not saying the bug for quest credit isn't important or anything like that. I'm just saying that they never said the quest one was fixed yet. They have not lied to you.
  6. I've been leveling up a Sorc healer from to level 10 to 46 in almost exclusively pvp. I have to say I'm completely fine with healing thus far. I know that in a 1 vs 1 fight I will most likely not win, or it will take me a long time to kill someone with lower gear. However in a 2 vs 2 fight with anything, there is no winning for the opponents unless they also have a healer. If they both target the dps, I can outheal their damage or otherwise use tricks to cause him to not die. If they both target me, I can kite and stall long enough for the dps to whittle one of them down. If I join a large brawl, I can easily turn the tides even if our side is outgeared/outnumbered. I love having this type of power. This is all with the healing debuff. It's already uncommon for me die in a wz. When I do die, it takes a while and 2-3 enemies focusing on and chasing me. This means they aren't focusing on the objective and our team effectively outnumbers theirs while I'm running them around in circles. This is a huge advantage for our team. Without the debuff I would be basically immortal. Healers are currently balanced. It may or may not be the best fix to bring them in line, but it works.
  7. I came to the forums to post something very similar. Bioware, this is a simple quality of life change. For me, it is the single most aggravating thing about the game. Yes, even moreso than the currently outstanding bugs out there (and yes I'm affected by quite a few of them) Here are a few examples of when this gets aggravating: Browsing at the Galactic Kiosk: Probably the most frustrating time to get interrupted. Browsing a vendor's stock Using the cargo hold. Equipping companions. Pvp: Though, I'm a healer and having to explain to my guildy that he died because a companion completed his quest so I couldn't click on his name in time was rather amusing. I know there are other instances, but I implore you guys to change this. Make it so the quest will go to pending in pvp or when you have too many windows open already. Don't make me replace another keyboard, monitor, and window.
