  1. The quest Dangerous Auction is presenting a problem. When I go past the dialogue with the 3 BHs and start the fight, one dies but the other too I can't beat. One is the gold but I can't defeat him because Razah as lvl 27 just wastes Mako (or me). Am I missing something? Is he supposed to be that strong? I am lvl 22 PT dps with decent gear. Thanks.
  2. Where does one respec? I have a lvl 18PT and screwed up a few points...went to the trainer at Fleet and there was no option to reset. Tks.
  3. If someone (e.g., me on behalf of one of my toons) wants to purchase a set of crafted armor, what is the best way to post the request other than spamming Trade? Just fyi, if you are a craft on Infintie Empire and make BH armor pst. Tks.
  4. If there are any BH armor makers on Infinite Empire, I would love to RP (and pay for) a full set of lower level orange and have some fun with the process. PST if interested. Cheers.
  5. I find that genchat LFG works very well, even in off-peak hours. What I prefer about this route is the friendships I make, since a dungenon finder is like a warzone placement...in-out...it doesn't alllow for those periods to get to know your partners. Those periods -- yes waiting, but questing or chatting or crafting for one another -- are amongst my favorite. A dungeon finder might be more efficient for the end goal of forming groups, but I question whether it helps re: the social aspect.
  6. Agreed. If people classify this game is grindy, then their perspective is rather limited.
  7. Too insensitive? The bastard killed millions of his own people. If there is a hell, I hope he is there with his father.
  8. Leaving opinions on slicing, inflation, cash sinks, etc to other threads, what interests me in these discussions is who, how and why BW is and will make "balancing" decisions re: the economy. Does anyone know if they have real advisors (with practical experience) helping them. I don't mean the local uni economist (no offense, but economists are, well, economists). I mean people who have developed working economies in other games, or at least studied them? I ask because IF one believes the TOR is a long-term success with a strong population, establishing working economies is important. Just curious...any info?
  9. To LEPERJACK Hhmmm...interesting proposition. I am a non-sclicer and in theory I don't like tinkering with economies unless we know things are screwed. As per my previous post, the individual slicer is not proven to be a long-term detriment to the economy...way to early to tell so (although BW may have solid data on this, we don't). We would need better analysis on the purchasing power parity of those credits. My issue is the cash sprint...why do people have to screw around with so many alts and make slicing such an issue...human nature perhaps? So, to answer: no on the nerf IF the alt issue could be solved. Otherwise yes, but that is likely to make things more difficult for crafters as cash liquidity dries up. Perhaps..we'll see. Note: I was leveling my L14 BH with my mate tonight and had to keep borrowing cash to make pots. It is clear that crafting profitably will require discipline.
  10. All true in theory; reality is more complex. There has to be some level of cash generation, and slicing was a mechanism for doing this. Slicing itself (as instituted before) may or may not have had the potential to create inflation. We never saw that economy evolve. The real issue creating inflation, imo, is the practice of what I term the "cash sprint". And slicing has been the alleged means for this (its still an early economy), although to be exact it has been the practice of using multiple characters to slice and gain relatively large cash postions. I believe that in the scenario where the multiple account practice was not possible, then slicing itself may have been reasonable since at endgame things are different. Who knows, as we are in early days. What I wonder is who is making the decisions on "balance"? I would love to know whether there are so-called experts examining the system. I never played WoW much but I assume the economy worked well. EVE has a good economy from what I understand. Most MMOs don't...it's not easy.
  11. I never played SWG. What is stopping people from using their imagination in this game and doing the same?
  12. It's too bad you rushed. I have been playing a few hours a day with friends. Now at level 13. We are loving the story, srewing around with some light hearted RP, etc. I would expect to hit level 50 sometime in March. In addition to the endgame content, I have 5 alts planned out in terms of their backstories, and it is my end of 2012 goal to get several of them to 50. Which may be optimistic. Yeah, I am slow. But I have a feeling most casual gamers are as well. Just enjoying the ride...
