  1. If you're having trouble finding your friends, just start looking in General for them. Say you're looking for players from your old server with whatever name they had, or members of your former guild. You'll eventually get them together again.
  2. Your problem, OP, is trying to play a game with no servers located in your region of the world. Your only choice is to move to America or wait for Chinese servers. Or re-roll on another West Coast server. Or wait for paid transfers to go back to a West Coast server. Personally, I'm not having any issues on Jung Ma. It's just the same as Ajunta Pall to me. I get slightly more "lag" due to server location, but it's so miniscule that it's literally impossible to notice the difference.
  3. None. Surprising, considering the names I chose were fairly "RP-ish" and they survived the transfer over to Jung Ma after the other RP-PvP server was given first chance to gobble them up by transferring first. /happy
  4. A suggestion to the forum moderation team. One of the biggest reasons there is so much negativity on the forums is that you allow it. By allowing it, you are allowing a cancer to spread through your community. The forums are full of trolls and doomsayers, topics about cancelling subscriptions and why others should leave as well. Topics about why the game is terrible and unbalanced. You, the moderators, are responsible for ensuring that the forums are a positive place to visit. The mass cries of people talking about unsubscribing, and general negativity, need to be silenced. The posters need to be banned, and their posts and threads deleted. Locking the topics still allows them to be seen, and without bans to back them up, the same people just keep spreading their filth all over the place. In short, the forums need a lot of censorship. Yes, I know it's a terrible thing to consider...censorship. When we hear about it, we scream with rage. How dare people silence us, right? Here's the thing, though...these are your forums. Your job. Your livelihood. Nobody has any "rights" to post here. You, the moderation team, should have a goal in mind to make the forums look like a shining beacon for your game, with nothing but positive threads and helpful players. I'm sure you're wondering why I'm saying this, though...it's simple. Most players will never post on the forums, ever. Many won't even come here. The people that post here are mainly people that thrive on drama, to see if what they say can rile people up and get them to bend to what they're being told. However, all those players that don't post here? A lot of them still read the forums from time to time, trying to see if they can find something helpful for a problem they have. They are instead met with a sea of crying, childish forum locusts, hellbent on doing nothing more than destroying your game, because you have not given them exactly what they desire. The people read their comments and they believe them! Why do they believe this rubbish? Because a handful of players...maybe a hundred, out of thousands and thousands, worldwide, are constantly spamming their vitriol. The "innocent" customers see page after page of this, and because they know no better, they fall victim to it. I urge you, take steps, drastic if needed, to clean these forums up. Keep them positive, even if their are legitimate complaints, and your average player will be thankful for it. A rather notorious competitor in the MMO genre has employed this tactic rather extensively on their own forums. It is my suggestion that you take it a step further. Honestly consider the benefits of strictly policing the forums, and I think you will find that there are more positives than negatives, even if you don't take it as far as suggested here. At the very least, create a policy to ban the talk of subscription numbers, "Leaving" threads, and anything else that is generally leaning towards getting other players to leave. If a player is going to leave, they should come to that conclusion on their own...not with the help of the forum trolls spreading misinformation. Thank you for your time!
  5. Will immediately quit the game if any of these "wants" are ever added to the game via MTs. Will also immediately quit the game the moment it goes F2P. /shrug
  6. Free character transfers and balancing of server populations. I'm not talking about even Republic to Sith ratios. I'm just saying, I want a Heavy -> Very Heavy population for all realms. This would mean merging and transfers so players can get together, and shutting down of old servers. If they can figure out some other way for bringing life back to servers, I'm all for it. All I want is people to play with. That's it. I love the game, but having nobody to play with really, really sucks. It's why my friends have all left. They didn't feel like it was a multiplayer game, because they did all of 1-50 by themselves and never saw anyone else around them from either faction. Server used to be Heavy to Very Heavy all the time. Sometimes full. After the servers had population increases. Now it's constantly Light and fleet has 10-15 people online at peak hours. Not fun.
  7. Pretty much what you said in the OP. I like ToR. Only like. I'll be switching to another game like Diablo 3, and probably Pandas or GW2, if the server populations aren't fixed pretty ricky tick (fast). Everybody I talk to loves the game as a SINGLE player game, but everyone hates the multiplayer, because it DOES NOT EXIST. Sure, the content is there...but the players are not. This was due to the MAJOR screw up of creating more servers than World of Warcraft, with 1/10th the population. There needs to be at least 50% less servers. 75% less servers would be better. Consolidate the player base so we can play with others, or we're just going to keep on leaving.
  8. All of the above. Also, fix server populations while you're at it.
  9. Yes, server population imbalances make me want to leave the game. I love SW:ToR, but when you don't have anyone to play with, how are we supposed to enjoy an MMO? The problem is that merging servers will cause all kinds of havoc. Players will lose the names of their characters, guilds...just lots of general bad things. BioWare needs to open up free character transfers to and from any and every server, including PvE->PvP, PvP->PvE, RP->Whatever, etc etc. Let players stabilize server populations on their own, and begin to slowly close down a few servers until there are nothing but High+ population servers left. At that point, they can open up a new server or two when the population actually begins to grow again. It will grow, too. When players are having fun on thriving servers, they get their friends to join them. When players are mad because they have nobody to play with, they do not try to get their friends to join, because no rational person wants their friend to waste time and money on something that neither of them will ultimately have fun with due to lack of other players.
  10. Seems fitting, in the continuing cycle of making Republic players look like total clowns.
  11. It's the same ambient noise they have used in several games. It's like faint murmuring, like hearing a small portion of a bunch of conversations all at the same time. The first time I heard it was in Neverwinter Nights. Hearing it here brought back good old memories. So it doesn't bother me.
  12. Buying level 12 and 15 Orange Belts and Bracers for various classes from the GTN for 1-10k, and turning around to sell them a few months later for 150k+.
  13. Free transfers will fix the problem. Close servers to new character creation. Send out e-mails and notifications that a players character(s) are going to be forcibly relocated to a new server if they do not do it themselves. Allow them to free transfer afterward so they can still go where they want to go, if they were unable to access transfers before the forceful move. The transfers alone will even out the player base. Anyone that doesn't take advantage of the free moves deserves to be stuck with their dead realm until BioWare forcefully moves them and closes a server down. They need to cut out about 50% of the servers. No kidding. Open up new servers and allow free transfers to those servers from overpopulated realms (i.e. have queues) afterward. Now, how they implement this is up to them, as I have no idea what their hardward/software restrictions are, or exactly how much work it would put on their staff. However, it needs to happen. Fast.
  14. Server merges / Free transfers Server population and faction balance are the number one problem with the game. There is no arguing this point. We need fewer servers. At this point, I'd take a cross-realm LFG tool too, even though I'm very much against it. I just want to play the damn game, but I can't because TWO of my guilds have died from people unsubscribing and going back to World of Warcraft. I don't care what their reasons are. I like ToR. I just very much dislike the fact that we have a bajillion servers and the entire playerbase spread out across them all, to the point that people are leaving because they think the game is dead with the lack of players. BioWare needs to get on this immediately. It's already been too long.
  15. Or they could just *********** merge servers already. ToR has more North American servers than WoW does, with not even 1/10th of the playerbase. I logged into WoW today to count the players on each faction, as well as ToR. Republic Side on my server (Standard Population) had 174 people total. I went over to my WoW server, which is listed as Medium population depending on time of day. There were over 2000 players on the underpopulated Horde faction of the server. I stopped counting when every single bracket of player levels (1, 2, 3, 4, 5...etc) each had over 50 players of that level. More players level 1-4 on my WoW server than on my ENTIRE faction in ToR. I don't even care if they were gold farmers. You take any four level range and compare it to my ToR server. Yeah, ToR isn't nearly WoW big. At this rate, it never will be, because players are LEAVING because they have NOBODY to play with.
  16. Clearly you did not play World of Warcraft at launch, or for the first six months. Good day, sir.
  17. Why the hell does it matter if the 13th day of the Month is on a Friday? What is "weird" about it? Is this some American joke, or...?
  18. Worst tanks in PvP and PvE. This isn't going to change in 1.2 with the current changes as listed. Terrible AoE threat and damage in general. Less survivability than Powertech/Vanguard and Assassin/Shadow. A few gimmicks that make them somewhat viable in Huttball only. This needs to change, immediately.
  19. Sounds like you need to roll on a more populated server and quit staying on your sinking ship. I see about 1000 players on either side of my server at Primetime.
  20. There are no other MMOs beside SW:ToR. Sorry.
  21. You must really hate yourself if you force yourself to keep playing on that server. You'd literally be better off re-rolling on a higher populated server like everyone else on your server did and wait for transfers. The game is not any less populated now than it has been since launch. The difference is that...yes...there are too many servers. People have moved from the less populated to the high populated. You're going to have a miserable time if you keep punishing yourself in the meantime. =\
