  1. So, I just hit 50 with my sith juggy, and I thought I should spend some of my 100 commendations on new mods. Since the worst thing I see is an undergeared tank in any FP.. (even for soft mode) Guess what? This mod vendor is MISSING several TANK mods! Guardian hilts? Nope, not there? Force wielder hilt for the SA-tank? NO! Commando barrel for a powertech tank? Nope! You got one tank-related mod per class, and two enhancements that are "meh" upgrades for a fresh lvl 50 tank (where the flying F did the immunity enhancements go?), but you got enough crit, surge and alacrity mods and enhancements there for feed any dps or heal spec - but not much for the tank. I submitted a CS ticket about it, but the ingame Customer Service sucks so bad, the only message they give me is the copy & paste "go to the forum and post in the message box section". Well, I've posted it. Fat chance this will change anything. I sense the force is weak here. Prove me wrong. I dare you... Prove me wrong... (I'll just go on a wild guess that the republic fleet vendor lacks the same stuff)
  2. Oh lord, I've lost count of the times when a dps juggernaught or shadow assassin queued as a tank, without the gear for it (really, I dont care of he's specced right or not - if gear is wrong the rest is equally wrong). So don't put too much blame on yourself. Inspect the tank, does he have a shield equipped? Does the rest of his stuff even have a moderate amount of +defense/shield/absorb? If not, feel free to reverse the charges and blame him. If the tank is doing his job with even a moderate amount of skill, using his taunts, interrupts and defensive abilities, you should not get any hits on you, nor should the DPS - provided they are on the correct targets. Which means healing is much easier since you just have to focus on the tank (and the occasional heal that silly dps guy who aggroed a new pack..) The holy triumverate of instances are: 1. If the tank dies, it's the healers fault. 2. If the healer dies, it's the tanks fault. 3. If the DPS' dies, it's the DPS' fault!
  3. Funny, I haven't seen a ***'s mention thats not pvp. I'm mostly an explorer and pve person (I like PvP but this system - meh, can't be bothered). My biggest gripe in this game is the crummy layout of our starship (why is the mailbox in its invisible spot, far away from the kiosk and the cargo locker??) and the holocron torture/puzzles. You really want me to jump on boxes, run along pipes, fall off, repeat it until my eyes bleed, when I have a flippin' rocketpack?? In any true sense of Star Wars - I should either: A - Fly up with my rocket pack to the holocron. B - Shoot the holocron so it falls down, then pick it up. C - Shoot something else that makes it fall down in a comical sense. THAT my friend is star wars. Not the epic, braindead puzzlejumping. Rant aside - make the pyro a viable build as well, so I can have more fun.
  4. I agree that NEED should be disabled for something not designed for the class you are currently playing. That would mean people in heavy armor can't need on medium/light and so on. My bet is that if this is implemented, it will probably come in an expansion with a label of "loot 2.0", just like Diablo 3. In other words - don't hold your breath.
  5. You might as well be trying to ban stupid people from using the internet. It will never happen.
  6. I just noticed this bug last night. I run swtor launcher normally, type my password and hit login, the launcher does its verify/update stuff and when it's done, you can hit play. This time I forgot to turn on my Corsair Vengeance 2000 wireless headset, so I powered it on and.. play button got deactivated. Funny, right? So I had to exit the launcher, and start it up again. Now my curious nature got the better of me, so I logged in anew, play button was all lit up - and I adjust the volume directly on my headset and it got greyed out again. Nothing to do but hit exit and fire up the launcher again. Anyone else notice this weird bug?
  7. .. or like me, coming back after a year, finding server merges have invalidated all my characters names, forcing me to rename them - which I find odd, as I prepurchased the game exactly for the "sales pitch" from EA/Bioware that you'd "get the name you want". Ain't it nice how game developers can go back on their word and screw you ten times over? Or "forget and dismiss everything in order to move forward", as some would say.
  8. I agree - get rid of the orbital stations. Once you've seen one, you've seen them all. They do not add to the game, they detract from it since we have to suffer through an extra loading screen just for that piece of garbage. It's almost to the point that I exclude going to planets I know have this crap you "must" visit. After having visited a station once, you should get the choice to go directly, just as when you want to return to your ship - then you dont have to visit said crap orbital station. I think thats a good workaround. Maybe you don't mind visiting, but other people actually do mind.
  9. I'd suggest playing the game in windowed mode while setting it up, when you're done you can always go back to full-screen.
  10. So I got this snippy answer from customer service to post my "suggestions" here. I will do that! Here's the reason why your game is epic fail and why I want my money back: - You have little content, and what you have is repetitive, as in - every planet is a repeat of the last. The missions are always the same, the bonus missions also, I feel like falling asleep at the keyboard. - Holocron puzzles. These are just plain insulting. You want me to run along ledges, jump onto boxes and pipes (and fall off when the animation isnt right) when I play a bounty hunter with a friggin rocketpack on my back? That IS insulting. Any BH in the movies (or jedi/sith with force jump) would have made short business of said holocron, why can't I? - Get rid of EA, nobody likes them. - The legacy system, from what I have heard, is nothing but a pile of rubbish with moneysinks. Nothing in there with actual meaning or worth. I know the game is new, and thus "not polished compared to other MMOs" but that's really not a good excuse. Those "other MMOs" are your competition, if you can't stand up to them then you're in big bantha poodoo. You need to fix prevailent bugs which are ruining endgame content (making the 50's leave), spruce up the mid-content (seriously.. why do I feel like I am doing Alderaan all over when visiting Hoth?? Not to mention Balmorra..), why does the game feel like a drudge and a timesink other than having fun?? My server has turned from heavy to superlight. 50 people in fleet... all afk. And that's on a good day. I gave you 3 months payment. I recon I won't see hide nor hair of the legacy system "live" before my time is up. Too bad for you, cause I'm definately not resubbing because "it comes after the 3 month payment".
  11. Good thing I already removed my subscription, I paid 3 months in advance and regret it. This **** is what we get when EA is involved, though I have to admit I am not impressed with BW since DA2.
  12. The whole binding system is utter stupidity copied from earlier games and was only introduced as a game mechanic to lessen the amount of item trading. As far as game mechanics go I don't care one way or the other about "binding" but the logic is beneath questionable intelligence, as well as socially awkward; Imagine a son asking his dad if he can borrow the car, and the dad answers: "Sorry son, its bound to me." Or maybe you inherit something nice and you can't use it because it was equipped once? ***? Btw, Luke Skywalker's first training with a lightsaber was one that belonged to his father. Suck on that! How could he ever equip it?! Why does SW:TOR blindly copy such illogical code? People say "SW:TOR is not WoW", I'll just ask what a lot of people are thinking: "Why does it work in the exact same way?" Let us trade the speederbikes we make, damn it!
  13. Even so, with BW starting fresh in this genre, they managed to copy every detail - down to their very flaws - from the rest of the MMO genre. Making this "just another MMO". There's a good reason why people are saying "If you've played one, you've played them all." Class storylines were one step in the correct direction. Ultimately, it was only one step. In my opinion, way too early for launch. It shouldn't have been just one step, it should have been a running start. Oh - and yes you do compare with other MMO's and other games. Would you give a new car company some slack just because it's their first year producing cars, and their model didnt pass the Encap safety test? No, you don't. You still compare that company with other companies that have been producing cars for the bigger part of the last century. Games have come a long way since pong. And cars too.
  14. I'd be more interested in having my UI show sith corruption, to be bluntly honest.
  15. Same has this guy. A game forcing me to play the same FP until I hurl, no thanx. Oh and everything except class storyline is a copy of all other MMO's out there, and space battles are poorly simulated mini games. Need I continue?
  16. Huh. Yeah this is the first thing I wanted fixed with the UI ever since starting to play this game. By the way, that was sarcasm right there. How about fixing something really troubling for us instead of some non-important gui flash? And bringing it out like its "the shiz!" just makes it all the more rediculus.
  17. Why do you want so much WoW in SW:TOR anyways? U know they are two completely separate games right?
  18. Why did Bioware opt for the "one server, one galaxy" path, instead of the multi-cluster/multi-shard type that for example Eve-online and GuildWars (1 & 2) uses (one common login server, no server selection). This matter-of-factly removes all this server imbalance stuff and forces your developers to introduce needlessly complicated functions such as server transfers (character transfer between servers), and now this legacy level stuff with incentives towards picking sides (ref last Q&A). I understand it being done "because of" PvP, english/french/german languages, but all those can be easily fixed anyways even in the same server, and world PvP in this game is so limited I don't think you can actually use it as an excuse. :-p
  19. Find the skill mentor at your fleet and reset your points. How people can miss this is beyond me.
  20. Unfortunately, you are totally right. I still hate Skadge, and Mako loves/hates me every other minute.
  21. lolwut? This encounter is basically easy. Just aim turret, it fires automagically (no clicky-clicky!). Here's the easy way to do it: All 4 players on turrets turn around and aim "inwards" and cover your teammate that's opposite you. If you don't know what that means, run away before you get an idea and your head explodes. Basically this allows you to get extra time before any mob reaches you, since what you are shooting at is behind a teammate. And once they pass your teammate to get to you, they'll be killed by the crossfire of all four. If you still can't manage I would suggest you listen to the poster above me telling you to go back to simpler things.
  22. I agree with MarcusAtticus. This game is getting mind-numbingly repetitive after you reach level 40 (in my case I believe my brain's left hemisphere felt numb around level 44). The class storyline is the only thing that makes this game work for me - the rest - Flashpoints, Heroic 2+/4+, Quest, Quest, Quest..... this is boring shiz, really. And trying to get a group together is rediculus. I'm not asking for an instant LFG-FP tool here, but heck.. I need to be on the Fleet for this? If I want to go to the downtown pub, I don't need to go downtown to call my mates and "LFG" them.. no, I chat with them BEFORE I go downtown.. big difference. But maybe the BW devs don't drink for all I know..
  23. Notice how it's always the same anticlimactic feel when you reach max level, and then some schlob comes crying that PvP isn't tailored 100% for him? I've seen it in every god damn MMO. There's always someone who starts to ***** about how ENDGAME stuff in a game that's barely out 1 friggin' month isn't tailored to his needs and already its WAH WAH WAH. Seriously, you ask perfection at 1 month?? Go back to WoW or whatevs that's been polished for X years. We want Star Wars, you just want PvP epeen ****. Move along. These are not the droids you are looking for!
