  1. I wonder what people mainly use their CC breakers for. Is it so you can take an action/attack/cast or is it mainly so you can move and retreat or attack. That's where the connection of resolve bar and my actual character begin to get a little blurred. When I see the resolve bar, the feeling that I get is that I at that point am immune to anything that would stop my movement.

When a casual player might encounter this they believe that resolve is not working or is just simply broken all together. With roots and snare and the difference between the two being near neglligible in actual combat you can see where they might draw that conclusion. I don't think that the resolve system is broken persay, but it could take a look through for some fine tuning.

Increase the time, adjust the vaules on resolve generation or sosmething along those lines. Resolve is not diminishing returns, they're accomplishing the same thing overall in the end. Maybe resolves the more hardcore of the two, but I seriously doubt that since you have no direct control over either.

  2. That's where the "use it smartly" comes in.

    You are not smart.

I'm quite good actually. CC is ridiculous and if you really looked at how it effects the pvp in some points you'd know. Just like how some classes benifit most in some warzones, alot of classes benefit from the crazy CC..

**** I know I do, but it's not reason to let it get out of hand. I'd rather have good game play, than the CC-easybutton / frustration it can be sometimes.

  3. Resolve and diminishing returns aren't working the same in SWTOR. I think they approached a way of diminishing returns more ridigly. It's basically a straight cut-off of all CC for a set amount of time DEPENDING on the actual CC that put you into RESOLVE IMMUNITY or at least how it is intended to work.

First Resolve is granted at 1000/1000 resolve points and you will be immune to all incoming CC (stuns). Realize that if your Resolve Bar is sitting at 999/1000 that you ARE NOT immune to CC until you've surpassed the 1000 threshold.

Follow me here: Each CC thats on the resolve table grants a certian amount resolve points. A 4 second stun grants more resolve than a 2 second stun in return a 4 second mezz/sleep will also grant more resolve than a 2 second stun but less resolve than a 4 second stun.

I fairly sure this is how it works on my Sith Assassin.

My Shock ability a 4 second stun fills resolve...

My Mezz ability (out of combat 4 second sleep) grants about 75% resolve. I can perform two before someones resolve is full and they are immune...

Spike a 2 second knockdown (****** one at that) grants little resolve just under a 3rd..

Now how diminishing returns works in my understanding is that stuns would not only at a point become completely negated, but before reaching that point the CC would also become less and less effective. Your 4 second stun now only stuns for 3 or 2 seconds, and then the target is completely immune to that one ability? or it all? This I'm not sure..

I'm probably off somewhere there but I hope it is a overall view of it. SWTOR could adopt something like this and maybe blend the two in some way. The Resolve System is a cool, fresh idea. You should already know that it would not be perfect in it's first implementation. So tweaking should definately be on the option reel for Bioware.

  4. @Darkmikesta (Not a flame, just a refferance)

I just wanted to say with the situation like the warzones not counting and it being around for a few weeks now. If the devs had the fix and just put it in with these others instead of holding back. Just putting it in, letting players actually see that they are competent and can fix issues that they are concerned with.

Right now, they are just telling people to believe in them and are not really showing anything to help players play along. This is how I know, they don't have the fix for it yet and may not even be close if the note for the fix is still not mentioned in anything before Patch 1.2...

They can easily prove me wrong in next weeks patch. That would make it a month with the bug quite prevelant. We'll do Bioware a favor here and not count the beta time.. #howsboutthat..

  5. Patch 1.2 is going to say volumes about Bioware and the direction the game is heading in. If they can pull it out which I hope they do and fix the issues that matter than more power to them. That said, they have some serious things to look at, a laundry list that needs to real cleaning.

If they fail on this patch and only create more issues, then that hopefully will be enough for people to understand what others have been trying to express. It will be March, well enough into the release to have a general feel of how the devs are doing.

    Good luck Bioware..

  6. If they do ever allow full pre mades.

    Its going to result in.

Other team is pre made.. Drop out of game, or Set afk and let them win in 3min.

We all know the above is true.

Only way it will work is if its pre made vs pre made only.

    Pre-mades will be facing pre-mades..

So if you have a lame in your group, drop them. I'd think though pre-mades will have regulars in their groups.

  7. I look at Accuracy as a PvE stat more than PvP..

That's probably the wrong thinking there but,

    Accuracy (Mobs) - Expertise (Players)..

I've never seen accuracy stacked and then used in PvE to really see how much the increases improves damage and defense.

  8. Or you could use your CC breaker smartly and wait until your resolve bar is full to pop it.

    Lololololol.. Pro advice right there..

Maybe once CC breaker gives some type of immunity will this be cool. To each their own tho, but one CC breaker to 6 other possible CC's in the same second you use it is a little "Meh..

    That's all I'll say.

  9. now maybe people will stop qqing about these issues.

I think there are some confusions about what people ***** about on these forums. Alot of stuff is repetitive, much of it is QQ.

But a good moajority have solid concerns and take time to form their arguments to be comprehensive. Just every time their works gets flamed tho, some people really put some thought into what they post. Especially when trying to exrpess their concerns with the game.

I don't think anyone thought that SWTOR wouold not eventually begin to implement some of the basic things we've been asking for. It was never about IF they would ever, it is what they are doing that made me unsub, the poor handeling of their customer service, and lackuster / questionable patching techniques.

Their patches have had issues in just about every deployment. There are bugs that simply should not of made it into live. Features that without question should of been in at launch. It's the fact that the basics are not really being met.

It's cool to come back and fix things, Thats exactly what the devs are supposed to do and those are the things they will need to continue to do to help their game grow. Just because people come on here and ***** or QQ about the game. Doesn't mean we don't have a real interest in seeing the game succeed.

TL;DR: This is a start on some of the issues they have in game. It's good to see somethings like UI, and Guild options starting to be implemented. But they don't get mega points for putting in **** that should've been there before..

They still have ALOT to do before their game is anywhere near acceptable for myself.

  10. Hey I am not even sure if this is the right spot to post this, and sorry if it is not. But here goes.

I am playing a Mac desktop and have installed Windows Ultimate 32-bit OS through BootCamp. I use an IntelCore2 Duo CPU @ 2.66GHz with 2 GB of RAM. Honestly I don't really know what all of that means.

So when questing open world i get frequent lag spikes and find that waiting in the same spot for a while and then going helps a little bit. And forget about running around on Republic Fleet. However lucky me, I do fine in Warzones but my open world PvP is definately slow.

I have done all the obvious fixes; turned off shadows, bloom etc. Lowest graphical settings and am on Fullscreen(windowed). The windowed bit seemed to help a little last night.

So my question is can I replace my video card or something of the sort to dramatically imrpove game performance? If so please be specific as I am not great at all this stuff.

    Thanks for your time.

    Unsubbing has improved performance ten-fold

  11. Bioware, E.A who ever is in charge of this "game"..

You guys preach and praise about how your target players are pleased with your title. How your content is being recieved well and players both old and new to PvP are having fun..

That's *********** ******** YO! and don't close my topic on some flip ****.. This is about your game..

This is for YOU Bioware / E.A, from YOUR playerbase..

He tells you straight up, he's a FANBOY!

and for us (the ones that took the blue pill).. the lawls..

  12. Please sticky this, the pages are filling up and passing by to quick to not have this. This will also able the Devs to take a look once in a while rather than not seeing anything to do pages filling to quickly.

How can you post bout bugs when you don't even know how STEALTH is supposed to work?

  13. Seriously its been like a month since people have started reporting this damn bug and there is no response from Bioware about fixing it i have done 5 WZ today and 3 have been wins and none have been recorded. The supposed answer by some fools on these forums is because my team outnumbered the other team which is completly false they have all been narrow wins with either the same amount of players on each side or maybe one player missing. FIX THIS DAMN BUG BIOWARE for christs sakes.

UPDATE: THANK YOU BIOWARE just looked at the upcoming patch 1.1.3

    http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=287959

It's near the bottom, sad part is its not coming until next week but at least this hell will end now.

Lololol hahahahahahahahahaha lawlslawlslawsls lmaomaomaom rolfolfo omwtfffeverrrrrr..

    It's not you..

  14. I totally would except I like the game and I think it has potential, especially if Bioware fixes stuff. Plus I enjoyed KoTOR and I still haven't played all of the class stories yet.

I feel you, I as a player just reaches a point of true frustration while playing that I haven't experience in a while. Just playing the game I can literally feel how broken alot of the things are.

Mechanic wise as well as in design. I only said unsub not to troll but to help you also to AVOID the headache that you will enevitably feel while playing SWTOR..

Maybe unsub now so you don't spoil any chance the game might have in the future if they fix stuff..

Your choice, your time, your money, .. #twocents

  15. Ok so SW:TOR was released DEC 20th. Today is Feb 10th. I believe it has been about 6.5 weeks. I think the level of "O-M-G the game is totally broken" posts is a little overblown.

The game has not even been released long enough to say it has been out "monthS".

Give the developers a little bit of time.

From my time with the release of SW:TOR it was a great release. I don't even know if I was disconnected from server (when I didn't want to be of course) one time during my play time during early access.

I know there are complaints with PVP, with server imbalance.... ect...

But lets give the Developers .. you know .. more than "weeks" to fix the issues.

It has been six weeks. Not six months.

I have read that there are leaked plans all the way up to a version 1.5. So they are working on content.

Heck, in a perfect world I'd love to go to the cantina and sit down, and play some cards. But I'll be patient.

Uhuh.. I'd unsubbscribe in the mean time. You're money would be spent better elsewhere..

    Like on something good

  16. What you say makes perfect sense. The element that grinds is that I convinced several people to leave WoW to try SWTOR. Some have failed to get past level 30 but those that have got to 50 are having such a bad time that I feel angered by what this game is.

And then I look at the game and see everything that they are saying and more because I've done the end game content...

My rose tinted glasses have broken and the sewer I've dragged them into is up to our necks... I want to lash out and make Bioware understand how pathetic this game is - I want my rights to count but I know they don't actually follow me into MMORPG's so developers can do what they want and as a consumer I either take it or leave it...

    I feel you my dude..

  17. Ilum has been annoying lately, not that it's never annoying really. On the Republic we're pretty much always camped at our base getting 20 valor a kill facing 2:1 odds or more. That's pretty usual. Doesn't bother me. I'm a Battlemaster and fishing is good.

The Imps on top of our base raining random lightning aoes down is pretty normal too. I used to be able to just go up their and kill them and that was it. Now I go up there and kill them and they just respawn right there with full health. If I manage to kill them again, guess what? They're back a short time later.

In fact they don't just do that on top of our base, it's everywhere. I can't kill an imp anywhere without them magically respawning with full health. And on Ilum you don't get credit for killing them twice in a row. And of course when they do kill you after respawning with full health while you're still recovering from the battle with them you had a second ago, they get 150 to 200 valor. Seems fair.

So it's pointless, they can sit up on our base for all I care. Raining down aoes and insults as usual. Cause we're the cowards for not wanting to die repeatedly to the numberless hoard while a slide show of red plays across the screen. Right...

I realize it's an exploit, but does everyone have to do it? Do we have to stoop down to their level? And why? We are already suffering from ridiculous odds. Outnumbered and outgeared, we now have to deal with this.

It's getting harder and harder to keep playing. I barely had the patience to grind my way to the Valor and Gear I have and things weren't nearly this bad. I'm really afraid for the new 50 Republic players and even the old 50s. Nobody wants to put themselves through this frustration anymore.

    Just unsub dude for real..
