  1. So, i was thinking of transferring one of my toons to another server. My only question is, will I loose all quest progression if I do so? LIke, the kind old monster one, getting the doctors rep to level 10 after grinding materials for hours. I'd rather not have to go through that again, since the quest can't be completed till the Rackghoul event won't pop till next month.
  2. The problem with Illum is the fact in order to get anything done, you need a group. And you will not always have a group with you. If you don't, you get ganked. Equally, there needs to be people on the opposing team, if no one is there, you're collecting armaments... for hours... the new Illum is even worse then the old one. At least then you could actually accomplish something in your time. really it needs to work similarly to how Winter's Grasp in World of Warcraft works. It needs a rotating schedual and a means to queue into it where the battle takes place over the course of 20 minutes. In that time if it up to the teams to capture all the points and win the battle, or perhaps a set number of kills.Thats what this place feels like it could have been, and why there are even destroyable dropships in the first place. There just needs to be a means so that you will always be able to schedual an amount of people on the feild to fight. I know how much you guys love to think that MMOs are a community and that the voice of a single person will rally and unite a server, but spamming" LFG Battle of Illum" for an hour to get 5 people Republic side, does not a strong community suggest. This game needs Group finders, maybe not now, or soon, but eventually.
  3. Yea, Grouped up with 4 people on the "new" Illum PvP today, let me say first getting armaments is annoying and tedious in it's own right, trying to find the buggers. Second, even with a good group of 4, lotta good that does against one regular guy and three guys stealthed right beside him waiting to ambush you, stun lock, and 3-hit stab you to death. I know the old Illum was broken, but at least you could get stuff done. Unless you have a good group of your own stealthers, you're basicly Valor fodder. Instead of trading bases, it's become a game of lure bate and beat the living snot out of your opponent with over powered stealth mechanics.
  4. Still the big mystery on what exactly we're gonna get out of Legacy, beyind unlocking powers and special character creation options, and I currently don't see a cap anywhere in sight. I suppose it's to encourage tons of alts, but I'd like to also know what I'm working towards. Regardless, Hopefully it'll be worth the wait. My Current Legacy name is Nar'valen, level 12. What's yours?
  5. Not technically true, we have Awe which is an AOE stun ability, granted it only incapacitates the enemy for 6 seconds, and is easily broken by a single tap.
  6. Looking for flashpoint group in SWTOR: anywhere between 1 minute, and 10 hours, give or take. Looking for Dungeon in WoW: Garenteed 30 minutes or less. To those who say it ruins communities, I still haven't seen one even with the lack of LFD finder in SWTOR, and wow still keeps on top with roughly 10 million subscribers. If anything it would annoy me to the point of wanting to cancel my own subscription. I've been 50 for nearly 2 weeks, and haven't done a single level 50 flashpoint, heroic or normal. And not for lack of trying, I've advertized my interested at least once a day during, with minimal interst at best.
  7. Oh, and that argument about a paper tiger, my aunt fanny. With that sort of name a single hit should take out an operative. Well, when that mechanic kicks in let me know, because all I saw was a guy stun locking me, and takeing less then 3 seconds to kill me. What defenses do I have against that? how do I counter a guy who can kill me in less then a few seconds? You describe to me in full detail, every classes defense against it, and I will call off my desire for it's nerf.
  8. I'm a Jedi Sentenel Watchmen spec. I just watched myself get stunned by an invisable operative, and 3 shotted before I could even break the stun. They are pretty OP and I don't care what you say about skills, being stunned and 3 shotted before you can even blink isn't being a bad player, it's being steamrolled by mechanics.
  9. Hey there peoples. It's been a while since the game Launched, I'm sure there are plenty here who have gotten through the point of getting their legacy and their surname. So for a small list for curiosity sake, write down your Legacy Last name, the server in which they are on, and at what level they are currently at. Mine. Nar'valen. Begeren Colony. Level 9 I really wish I knew what the level cap was, or exactly what we're getting into with the levels in the first place. But we may not see results on that for many months.
  10. I'm not sure if it's just my server, the Beregan Colony. But there is a rather large gap between level caps of Empire Vs Republic. I'm a level 50 Jedi Knight. In the last warzone I was just recently in, There were only two people over level 30, including myself. and at least 4 others 15 and below. Whist on the other team I could count at least 4 different level 50 Imps. Now I am not a rather versitile class in PvP, we all know Melee is at a dissadvantage, but the amount of skills and abilities vs the amount the team has is rather staggering. I know they plan to make a braket PvP for level 50s, my fear is that there won't be enough people interested on Republic side if this keeps up, so the que will be as affective as waiting for a group for Heroic Flashpoints. Which I havent' gotten into a single one yet. I don't even like PvP much truth be told, but I'd like to do something in the game besides alt leveling. What about everyone else, to those with the keen eyes, what has been your level differences in most Warzones, are they equal, or are you often queued with the alts who haven't made up their mind what class they want to stick with? Bonus mention for the class those level 50 toons usually are. Mine: Sith Inquisitor.
  11. Actualy it was more along the lines of WotLK, but I digress, the system in and of itself has existed for 3 years. MMOs are more or less a game of taking notes from their compeditors and doing things better or worse. This page may have been good to copy as well for their launch, or at least within the first few major patches.
  12. Make friends and Pug Flashpoints. Brilliant IDEA! I guess joining a guild and trying to get to know people, Spamming LFG Heroic Flashpoints in whatever chat I could find, were nothing more then exercises in futility. I can assume less then 5% of my current server is at level 50, and arn't around for more then half the time I'm around. Great odds there finding a "pug". We currently have 148 people in my guild including alts, and only 2 level 50 characters, myself included. I'm just saying, if the server is the issue and people just have some fear of committing to a single character without restarting, it would be good to have a back up system to Flashpoint/gear up. Good looking gear, not that ugly Jedi Knight PvP gear they got going. Would be good for general low population servers as well.
  13. I suppose it verries from Server to server, but at the moment it feels like the game has sorta haulted at least for my main toon in terms of getting gear. While I'm hoping to do heroic Flashpoints, the LFG advertizement is for Esseles, and only Esseles. I know I'm on an RP server, the Begeren Colony, but on average you'll get a lot of people who work towards max level. I was one of those people who pushed it, got myself to level 50 within the first two weeks of launch. I just wish the game had itself a LFD finder ala Warcraft. Guess what, it worked for the game. People who played WoW, I hear saying that the system ruins the game... but here is the thing, if you are in the mood to do some progression on your main, most of your guild isn't past 40, and The Republic Fleet has about 1 other level 50; it would be nice to have an alternative option then spamming "LFG" for 4 hours with narry a response. If we could que up with other servers at the same time, in order to get into Heroic Flashpoints, would make this much more streamline.Otherwise I'm in for more or less a month or two of waiting around. And don't give me that "you can always level up an alt in the meantime, that is what it's for" Yes I know, I am trying to anyway, but once they get to max level they will have the same problem.
  14. Ah, these answers have been most helpful. Granted it still makes the game as grindy as any, but now I know the method.
  15. Nobody able to help clear up this info? I can't seem to find the info myself on Google, mainly due to part it keeps glitching out on me to where I can't search for anything. And this forum has no search function.
  16. Hey, still new to the game, like everyone else. But Honestly I am a bit confused about the aqurieing of special PvP gear, since it doesnt' seem to be clearly defined in game itself. There are Centurian Comendations, or Champion..., some battle master too. then on Coruscant, they have PvP vendors who need an artifact Pvp upgrade. I don't mean to sound dumb, but I don't recall how these tokens are aquired. Just to have some clarifications please. While I'm here though, I'd like to ask about PvE armor too, and why there are three methods of getting different armor, yet I can't figure out how to get any of it. I can assume Heroic Flashpoint tokens, but whats up with Tionese crystals and Collumi Comendations... I'm part idiot, but it's still not quite so clear how half of these things are aquired

  18. I have to agree as far as I can tell, The Jedi Knight/ Sith Warrior arn't quite up to scratch with other classes. Even through introductory quests I felt them not quite as good as other classes. I have a full level 50 Jedi Knight Sentenel... let me say first of all, the final fight is pretty damn hard. Not sure if it's the class, or the mechanic of the fight, but I needed a friend for a "solo" mission. In PvP, maybe I'm doing something wrong. But I hardly get medals for my efforts, no matter how much I attack, no matter how many objectives, I always seem to do less then others, who go down for "damage done" and "kills done" In general they feel very squishy and brittle. Either compensate their damage to be a bit more in the case of Sentenel, and increase their durability in their tanking stance. I may be biased, but with the lack of utility and overal brittle nature of the class, we could use a bit of fixing.
  19. I actually played to the end of the game without knowing his actor. Simply because he wasn't using his gruff voice. But I enjoyed the experience through level 50. I thought the actor fit. Very noble. well meaning, and willing to do what he could for the good of the people.
  20. In a sense, Bioware is trying to force the Jedi Knight into a moral dilema, which is present in the lore itself.
  21. This whole Legacy thing has me intersted. Perhaps on purpose from Bioware to keep people on board till they roll it out. I'm currently level 8 legacy... or was it 7... I should check. Either way I'm getting up there slightly. Thing on my mind though is what exactly it'll have. I've searched what I could online and all I could find is the use of a last name per server, a set of perks relative to the level you are at (perhaps a talent tree) and special character customization options. Is there any hint at all, that I may have overlooked that could indicate what these things are gonna be, or is the whole community in the dark, and we got a few months of waiting? Just thought I'd ask.
  22. Not that, I mean normal Corellia commendations, not the "DAILY' ones. Unless those can be converted, the mods they offer arn't what I'm looking for. Well they are still useful, the armor and weapon slot mod. But everything else I'm a little out of luck on otherwise. I guess I am better off waiting for the rest of my guild to reach 50 so we can do heroic flashpoints.
  23. Not suer if this is the right forum, the one I thought I should post on is in regards to Heroics, which is what I'm not after. I'm currently trying to get a few good mods for upgrades, which would require some comendations from Corellia. Problem is I can't seem to find any daily quests outside of [4 heroic]s . I'm not trying to be antisocial, that comes naturally. Regardless, I dont' know if they exist, and if they don't, I dont' understand why not. Doing the group ones and normal ones would yeild comendations faster, giving a reward to those who like to be in groups. Those who like to on their free time solo, should have an option too, a much slower, but still plausable option. I know you can still get comendations through very, very random drops... but that is what they are, random drops. You could farm mobs for a day and not get one to drop. The Mods I buy from them I hope to give me an edge for when I actually do group quests. Let's face it level 50s are still a bit scarse on many servers as far as I can tell.
  24. Follow the main storyline, you must. And a real jedi lightsaber, you will have.
