  1. I repeat, this is not the same problem. Back in vanilla wow, sure we were outnumbered probably the same ratio by alliance. However we could get enough people together to DO everything. We could find groups for all the instances, we could raid, we could even hold our own in open world pvp until the zerg fully arrived. Right now theres like 7 people on voss. What am I supposed to do with that. There's not enough republic to even do the PvE, which is the main problem. Its like playing a MMO by yourself, you can't do anything. I don't care if there are 100 sith, or 200 sith, or 900 sith in the fleet. The problem is there are 20 republic. I'd play on a server with a 20:1 ratio if the 1 meant that there were 100 republic. At least then we can get stuff done except in open world PvP.
  2. This is not about Sith or PvP. This is about republics who cant do flashpoints because there are 30 total on the fleet. the odds I find someone to do a group 4, when taris has 20 people in teh zone and is large as texas is 0%. so naturally given this situation I will think, "boy this game sucks, no one plays it" and unsub, or "boy this side sucks!" and roll sith. in which case whats the point of them spending half their money on content no one is there to experience.
  3. Pretty much. at this point there are too many servers and too high an imbalance to actually fix properly. They arent going to make half the sith reroll, or pull hundreds of thousands of new players who all roll republic out of thin air. Best thing to do now is let republic server transfer, so they can all go to a few servers, and these will be the servers where republic characters can actually find groups. The other servers will just be 100% sith and they can play huttball 100% of the time instead of 90% of the time. No big difference anyway. The population imbalance problem is a PvE problem. On anything less than a 'heavy' population server there arent enough to do group qusets
  4. gap closers matter for the juggernaut/guardian as they have no other way to close the gap scoundrels/operatives are not being called op for their gap closers at all, so that is two issues
  5. walking up to a guy who has no idea you are there or you are coming is a gap closer btw
  6. if it wasnt for force leap why would anyone play warrior? melee no gap closer everyone else has slows or ccs, your slows need you to be in close range no means of stealth so you can just walk up to the guy no stuns less than 50 second cooldown (also they need to be channeled so its not like you're closing the gap) leap does less damage than your basic attack you get at level 1 OP LEAPS
  7. whats sad is the number of republic on that server, that all the 50s together is so little.
  8. it probably should be automatic yeah ... based on stats but also a large part on objectives (points capped / doors blown up / TDs thrown and ran, etc) I premade with my friends and we pretty much rig the mvp system yeah.
  9. there are no servers where sith do not have a faceroll advantage in world pvp due to population imbalance if it ever happened (it never happens) just find a server where republic win WZs
  10. when are you going pro? bioware thought this one out ... even the worst pvpers can get 3 medals by putting guard on someone better and then standing behind a rock until they die. it is a shame more baddies don't realize this to maximize their utility to the team. if all the dps who did 50k damage a map would just guard someone and do 35k dps a map, we'd all be better off.
  11. rofl ROFL I don't know how to break this to you man, but less than 3% winning percentage means it's probably you.
  12. Pretty much. Republic just isn't "cool". the problem is not theres too many sith. the problem is there are not ENOUGH republic. whether there are 300 sith or 600 sith or 900 sith in the zone, as long as there are 100 republic and everyone can find groups and get their FPs and quests done then its no biggie (other than the zerg pvp aspect). but we are in a situation where unless you are on a very heavy or heavy server as republic, you'll struggle to even get your PvE done as there are like 20 of you in the zone max on my sith guy, you go to the fleet, there are 200 people and you can find a group for any flashpoint in about 10-20 minutes. on my republic on the same server you cant even find an esseles group in under 30 minutes (i.e. you cant find ONE other person). because theres only 40 people total on the fleet. Its a problem that makes it nonsensical for anyone to play republic, which means more and more people will go sith as time goes by until literally it is a 1 faction game. Who wants to stand around an empty space station? I'd rather reroll sith. Add this to what was already said about cool factor.
  13. thats what happens when you roll republic! heavy = 30 people in the zone standard or light = teens to single digits. those herioc 4's are never going to get done sorry. if you want to actually have a mmo experience you should have known enough to roll sith DUH
  14. I would say at this point, if you want to play republic and have an acceptable PvE experience, you need to roll on the highest population server you can find. We on heavy servers are getting by 'okay' in terms of finding groups. And we still need to look for a while during prime time as there are like 40 people max on worlds, 90 on the fleet. If you're on a standard or light server, that probably means there are like 10 people or less on most planets and 0 chance to getting stuff done or having anything close to a MMO experience. Honestly what they should do is shut down half the servers and move the players to other servers. We'd still have the crazy pop imbalance, but at least republic can GET STUFF DONE because there would be more than a handful of people in zones. You cannot do herioc 4's in a zone with 10 people bioware. That's the other problem with this game. The servers have like no capacity or something. Even in the early days of WoW when alliance outnumbered us 2:1 on our server, we had enough horde around to DO everything. We could still have an economy/clear all the raids/put up some fight in world PvP at least until the zerg fully arrived. Right now on HEAVY servers it feels like we're struggling to do these things, so I can only imagine how bad it is for republic on standard or light servers.
  15. Vulkar Highway. At least 2.5 to 1. Make a level 1 and search any zone to verify. We're lucky in that at least we have enough republics during prime time to get quests done, and we have a handful of PvP guilds rolling Sith in premades but if its not prime time, good luck finding a group for your herioc 4 in a zone with 20 repubs.
  16. Just adding my agreement to this. I'm on a HEAVY population server, but there's less than 20 republic on Voss, Ilum, Correllia. A search from my imperial character shows about 60 on those zones for Sith. It's not a matter of 'republic level up slowly' either (which was such a illogical argument to begin with). I did a search on Taris and we have 40 people while the equivalent for Empire, Balmorra, has over 100. So yeah, lowbies are even more slated to the Sith side. The problem, like others have said, is that we are at the point where not only new players are rolling sith because they're so much cooler, but republic players are ALSO rerolling since they cant even get their flashpoints done. The chances you find a group for a flashpoint when there are 40 people on the fleet of varying levels is almost 0%. Whereas I never see less than 120 people in the fleet on my Sith character on the same server. PvP is one thing, but now the population imbalance is affecting PvE. Group quests with 20 people in the zone during prime time? Good luck with that. This problem will get worse over time. Lets say you are a new player. 1) There is a built in higher probability you will roll sith, for the same reasons which have led to this imbalance. 2) If you were introduced to this game from a friend, it is more likely they are sith, so you will be sith. 3) If you do roll republic for some reason, you will either - stop playing/reroll because you can't even get a group to do esseles because there are 40 people on the fleet - stop playing/reroll because you are tired of being the only republic player in this supposedly galatic super power, and getting ganked 3 vs 1 all the time - Tough it out, get to 50, then stop playing/reroll because there is no end game because the attrition rate was so high before getting to 50 If you rolled Sith, there would be no reason to reroll republic. Maybe because you want to 'fight the good fight' against numerous enemies, but eventually you'll realize playing with no one is a lot less fun than playing with a lot of people. I think they really screwed up by letting the Warhammer guys anywhere near this game because it has the same problems with too many servers on launch and huge pop imbalance. Mythic apparently learned nothing from their failure of a game. Also whoever came up with the classes, should have seen right then and there that the cool factor was entirely lopsided. And the fact they didn't and no one else did either is not a good indicator of design talent. Trooper vs Bounty Hunter - Who is going to be a regular generic grunt that dies by the hundreds, when they can be boba fett? Smuggler vs Agent - Smuggler does okay because of Han. Agent is still very cool. The closest in terms of class appeal. Jedi Sage/Shadow vs Sith Sorcerer/Assassin - "Sage"? "Shadow"? Really? Those was the best names you could think of? No chance for the republic here. Jedi Guardian/Sentinel vs Sith Juggernaut/Marauder - See above. I don't care what the game is, if I have the choice to be a 'Juggernaut' I'd take it over being a 'Guardian'. From character creation, Sith has all the cool factor.
  17. Like I said, I'm okay with the instanced PvP since its going to be 8 v 8 no matter what. The problem is when I'm trying to find a group for a FP, only theres 50 people on the repub fleet compared to 200+ on the sith fleet, obviously I'm going to be waiting a loooooot longer. The population imbalance is killing the PvE. If you have a guild or a group of friends you are okay if they're on, but for a new player few will be willing to wait an hour to find 1 guy to do esseles. They'd just roll sith as the logical thing to do.
  18. If you're republic - this. When there's 60 people on the fleet at prime time, most of them in the PvP queue, good luck finding a group to do anything. If you want to do the PvE without waiting for hours, you want to be rolling sith.
  19. Unfortunately I guess that might be what I have to do. It's not even that I care so much about being outnumbered in PvP or Ilum being a part of the game I will never experience anything other than humiliating defeat, but there are SO FEW republic that I cant even do the PVE stuff without spamming chat for 30 minutes. Looking at it objectively, I have no motivation to play my republic guy since I dont want to stand around empty zones waiting to do group content, when I can insta find a group on empire. I know they don't want to hard cap faction populations, but at what point is it too much? 5 to 1? 7 to 1? 10 to 1? Everyone on the server being imperial? Other than some sort of psychological need to be 'the good guys' (which isn't even true since you can go light side regardless of faction), there is literally 0 reason to roll republic. I made a new smuggler last night and in prime time I couldnt even get ONE PERSON to do esseles, the first flashpoint. Black talon on the other hand needs a spam filter for it alone on my server. I'm not QQing because hey I can just play huttball on my sith over and over no problem, but it seems kind of stupid for them to spend all that money on the republic side only for so few to play it.
  20. Not to be a debbie downer, but I think there will be a slight edge for imperials on Vulkar Highway in Ilum. What's the point of playing republic right now anyway? Because I like to run around in an empty fleet? Because my hardware struggles to render the constant mob of sith on their fleet? I have to be some kind of wierdo to want to play a MMO on the side where it takes an hour to find 3 other people to do a daily right? The problem I see is that when you have this kind imbalance, it only gets worse because its so bad its affecting PvE. We are not at the initial stages anymore where one side is obviously cooler so most new people sign up on that side. We are at the stage where the people who went republic are doing the sane thing and rerolling sith, which will pretty much snowball further.
