  1. You're missing the point. The point is my having to fork out $80 to unite my toons just because me and my friends "picked" the wrong server at launch. Again I'm still willing to pay a reasonable about but noway $80. Plus why do people keep bringing up WOW and their absurd fees?
  2. I still don't understand your argument regarding real-time server load but whatever! How does having 1800cc fee for one character transfer be any different than adding another service of say, paying 2500cc to transfer all toons to one server, when it comes to preventing mass exodus? There's still a high pay-wall to deter people from jumping server every 2 hours. I didn't expect bioware to foresee the drop in server population two months after launch. I'm expecting them to react better to it, not making people similar to me forking out a boat-load of money to fix it.
  3. Do you really think bioware always thinks things through all the time? They are always flawless? And yes I'm demanding some "flat-rate" fee. Is it too much to ask? Every time you have an idea to improve quality of life for a group of players, it's a demand, not a feedback?
  4. For the 100th time, I'm not asking for a free transfer. Im asking for a flat-rate to unite all of my toons from 2 different servers into one server for REASONABLE fee (instead of $80 for 6 toons)
  5. You're missing the point like the other guy again. I AM NOT ASKING FOR FREE TRANSFER. I'm asking for a flat-rate to transfer all toons to one server. Scenario A, I have 1 toon to transfer from Server X to server Y. Result: I no longer play on server X and server Y now have to cater to my account when I log on. Scenario B, I have 20 toons to transfer from server X to server Y. Result: I no longer play on server X and server Y now have to cater to my account when I log on. Don't you see that the result is exactly the same when it comes to server load?
  6. Ok, so the "Low - Standard - High" status next to the server name when you first launch the game is the number of toons instead of the number of currently logged in players/accounts? My point it no matter how many toons I have one one server or moving to a server or another, it shouldn't make a difference in the server's REALTIME load. The flat-rate I'm asking for is a ONE-TIME transfer all toons from one server to another, so there won't be a mass exodus of people keep jumping from one server to another several times like you mentioned. Regarding live and learn thing, giving bioware feedback to improve their service is me helping bioware learn. I've learned alot about MMO since this game but do we all have to just stay silent when you see flaws in the policies and try to avoid it next time? And I "complain" because I care and I want to continue playing equally like people who didn't have to go through all this.
  7. It's pretty subjective. How do you define a need for transfer then? I've listed all the benefits that would greatly affect my performance in the game once all of my toons are on 1 server. Unless you mean if I don't transfer by tomorrow, I would be smite to death. Then that would be a need?
  8. As mentioned above: _ Legacy perks _ Crew skills (wouldn't be a problem if I can mail item across servers) And I solely PVP. Different classes play differently and I enjoy filling out the needed role in PVP when grouped with friends.
  9. I'm not complaining about the $17. I'm complaining about the $80 total for my case. I'm willing to pay a reasonable amount to unite all of my toons (say $25). And why use WOW as a measurement of excellence when it comes to fees?
  10. I'm not asking for a free server-transfer here. I'm just asking for a flat-rate fee instead of 1800 per toon. Like I mentioned above, You can only play one Toon per account at a time. So moving 1 or moving 100 toons of one account from one server to another doesn't make a difference on the destination server's population.
  11. Regarding destabilizing server population. As far as I know, you can only play one toon at a time. If move all of my toon from one server to another server that I also have a couple of toons on, the server will still only have to cater to one me and one only.
  12. That's not "free" at all. While other sub players get to spend that 1800 on the market. I have to use that amount to transfer a toon. So to bring myself to the level of other sub players who do not need to transfer, I still have to pay for that 1800cc.
  13. So if we have a flat-rate for character transfer (no matter the number of toons), wouldn't bioware still earn 1800cc from most people with 1 toon AND still able to help bad-luck-brian like me? That's my exact point right there.
  14. This is my first MMO ever so I had no prior knowledge on the obstacles I would face when rolling new toons on a different server. Plus, I didn't have any other choice anyway, did I? I've read the patch note again. Where does it say I can transfer a toon for free every 3 months? And didn't I mention that I'm willing to pay? But $80 is too much while I've already spent near $500 on this game since launch.
  15. Thank you so much for your understanding. However the $80 estimate is to transfer all 6 of my toons over to the original server where all of my friends and 2 of my lvl 50 toons are. 1800cc is about $17 I think.
  16. That's my plan (thought when the sub lapses, I won't like touch the game). The topic of the thread is reasonable fee for people with similar situations like mine.
  17. What choices did I have? Like I said I only had 2 options: quit the game or moving on to servers with people to play with (seriously there were 5 people on the fleet when I left). It's easy for you to say when you don't have to deal with it.
  18. You don't feel punished because you don't need to use that feature. I need that feature so I feel punished. Your feelings are different than my feelings, duh! Let's just count post-lvl50 toons. I have a powertech and a shadow on the original server. Then a sniper and a marauder on the other server. If I transfer all of them onto one server, I would be able to take advantage of the legacy unlocks due to the diversity of the classes I've leveled. Plus each character has their own set of crew skills that would benefit me even more of they are all on one server.
  19. I only created characters and played on 2 servers pre-free-transfer. After the free transfer, they characters still happened to be on 2 different servers (didn't you read my post?). When my original server lost most of its players, I had 2 options: Quit the game like most of my friends or start anew on a different server. I chose the later and continue my sub for nearly a year. Now I'm getting punished for sticking to the game? Plus Im willing to pay that 1800cc if I can do that for all characters once. That price is reasonable for people who only level one toon. People who have been playing since pre-launch are likely to have at least 4 toons by now. If this is how bioware treats hardcore fans, then I rest my case.
  20. I was excited to hear about character transfer. I've been playing this game since pre-launch. Needless today, I was among the people who had to abandon their lvl50 toons to create new toons on more populated servers a few months after launch. The server merging happening at the end of 2012 didn't do me any good. I still have 2 lvl50 toons on the original server where many of my friends have returned for patch 2.0, and 6 other toons (2 of which are 50) on another server. When I read the patch note, I thought that 1800cc is for transferring all toons from one server to another. It turned out that I would need to pay that amount 6 times to move all of my character to the original server so that I can game with friends. This is outrageous. Hadn't they created too many servers at launch, OR had they let me choose which server to transfer to during the free transfer, I wouldn't have to worry about this. Now they are expecting me to pay 10800cc (near $80) to amend to their own fault? Is this punishing their hardcore fans? I was so naive to resubscribe after 2.0 and bought the expansion hoping that one day my toons would be united on one server. With the way the game is nickle and dime me like this, I might as well quit and let my subscription expires in 4 months (bought the 6 months sub + over 6000 worth of cc, still have over 3000cc left).
  21. I have a similar issue and worse, the game seems to clog up my internet connection. The last 2 days, whenever I try to play the game, my lag would spike every now and then and sometimes lead to disconnections. It also affects other web applications like browsers and voice chat like Skype or TeamSpeak. Such a thing never happened before and I could play the game and watch netflix at the same time w/o any hiccup. Now no computer in the house could surf the internet without random long load time when I play this game. Sounds unreal, I know.
  22. Let's start with something obvious: Warzone Commendations (WZC) and Ranked Warzone Commendations (RC) are basically the same. Why must we have 2 different types then have to convert between the two to buy stuff? Since one RC is worth 3 WZC, instead of rewarding the player with 100 RC and 100 WZC for the daily, can't we just make it 400 WZC, increase the WZC cap to 12,000 and convert the prices at War Hero vendors accordingly? Currently players have to keep track of both commendation types and constantly convert from WZC to RC. Having a system of 2 different currencies that are freely interchangeable serves absolutely no purpose in Online gaming other than annoying players. PVE commendation system is fragmented, too: We have too many planetary commendations and most players have a lot of unused ones lying around. I propose we have only one unified planetary PVE currency (Like the Euro) where the higher level planets reward more commendations than lower level planets. This also solve another annoying problem when you level up. Say, when you do a lot of side quests on Hoth and earn a lot of Hoth commendations, you are now level 44-45 as you are to leave the planet but you're stuck with commendations that can only buy Level 41-43 items. In the system I proposed, you can actually buy a few Belsavis mods before heading to the planet. Also please make PVE commendations (Planetary, Daily, Blackhole...) legacy bound. This further encourage players to roll other classes, which fits well with the legacy system that SWTOR promotes. Buying items for an alt then mail them to him/her is an necessary process (For planetary comms in particular).
  23. If you didn't care to click on the link. Below is what Maloreon claimed in another thread. He's obviously the best player on the server (if not SWTOR wise) and I was too far behind in term of skill that I thought it could have been an exploit: Like I said, I admitted that me and my guild have a L2P problem, but my suspicion wasn't baseless. If A player can win 100% in all 1v3 and 1v4 fights even against other geared lvl 40s players, and always ensures that his team win every warzone, then there are 2 possibilities: 1. Something is off. Possible exploit or class imbalance. 2. Said player knows some legit formula for success that nobody else knows how to mimic or counter. That is, everyone on the server is horrible (myself included). At least, I still have a chance against other bad players. And since everyone kindly pointed out that it happened because I needed to L2P (most didn't even care to read the whole post though), there is really nothing else to discuss here. Sorry for wasting everyone's time.
  24. Yeah I do have a L2P issue and it seems that it applies to all of you as well: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=3726594#post3726594
  25. So I've been playing this game since the early access week, have 3 level 50 toons (2 on Anchorhead and 1 on Swiftsure recently) and leveling up a 4th while waiting for 1.2. Here's the problem, when I was a lvl 46 sniper on Swiftsure, 2 guildmates and myself were defending mid in Civil War (one was a lvl 36 Sorc and the other was a lvl 49 PT). Then came a lvl 43 Scoundrel called "Miras" jumping out of steath and knocked me down killing me in 4 GCDs. The other 2 guildmates started attacking him immediately but his HP was still at above 80% the moment he killed me. He then just went into Stealth after the kill. When I came back to mid from spawn (i.e. 6 seconds later), I saw him DPSing our Sorc who was being guarded by our PT. Both him and the Sorc had about 50% HP left. He came into steath the moment he saw me sniping him. 4 seconds later, he came out of steath full health and tried to kill me. I activated Cover Pulse to push him back and used my best combo on him while he's rooted. The 2 guildmates did the same but he still managed to kill me with a few hits. Then a Sage came to back him up and he killed the other 2 w/o breaking a sweat. And no it's definitely not a L2P issue. I was very decently geared as a lvl 46 (I constantly upgrade my orange gear). I PvP'ed with my sniper a lot and that was the first time I witnessed someone outputting that outrageous amount of damage after the first Scoundrel/Operative nerf. Our Sorc in that game also stated that he had encountered "Miras" several times that day and he was pretty much 3-hit by the scoundrel every time. The way I see it is that he can easily survive a 3 v 1 battle (i.e. he's like a tank) and can still kill one in a blink (God mode DPS) and of course can heal himself very quickly as well (Healer). So our guild suspected that he could either hack or exploit since it felt like pre-operative nerf. So we started to keep an eye on him and Scoundrel in general. Since that encounter, I've been picked on by several Scoundrels and Operatives but non could do anywhere close to what he did. I even faced a lvl 49 Operative in Huttball who could bring my HP from 100 to 50 after 3 or 4 stabs but I could still manage to run away or at least put up a good fight b4 dying (or even kill him if most of my abilities aren't on CD) Our guild encountered him again in Voidstar, this time I was backed up by a healer. Miras and I were both lvl 49 and he killed me even faster this time. A couple of hours later when I hit 50. I went to wz as a fresh 50 with a few Cent and Champ pieces from the 6 champ PVP bags. I was again picked by a Scoundrel who obviously outgeared myself as he had 16k HP (I only had 12k) but he couldn't kill me while Im stun-locked and I still managed to run away and damage him quite a bit. TL;DR I notice some scoundrel who could fit the roll of all 3 classes and kill someone in 6 seconds as if the nerf never happened while other scoundrel/operatives can never even come close to that level of opness even if they outgear and out lvl their target. Many people who have put up a fight with him think he hacks. So, Operatives and Scoundrel out there, what do you think about this situation? If it's some sort of exploit/hack, we should alert the developer or this class would be wrongfully nerfed (the first one was well deserved though) as I see people reporting 3-hit kill from scoundrels and operatives. Miras, if you're reading this post, can you explain how you do that? I believe most of us would love to test your formula. I myself is leveling an operative to learn more about this class (as reading forum posts and checking Torhead.com's database can't explain this situation). If you truly didn't exploit then this class needs a look into (which I doubt it). However, I would still give you the benefit of the doubt.
