  1. Interesting you should ask here, as there is a thread here in Community that will help you find a server to re-roll on as part of an initiative to help out with people on low population servers who want to play and still have fun NOW. It will list a number of servers on all fronts. PvE, PvP, RP, RPPvP as well as US West, US East and Europe time zones are all listed and it does get updated from time to time. Check it out! http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=359784
  2. Very true. In the same way that people say "hey if you wanna re-roll on a new server because BioWare cant do its job, go ahead" I saw the same thing in reverse. If you wanna stay on your dead server that will probably in no way ever see the activity levels increase to that of something worthy of being an MMO, then you go right ahead. As well if you haven't been paying attention, everyone who has gone ahead with re-rolling on new servers that have good population levels are having a BLAST! I have not heard anyone say "Man I re-rolled on a populated server and well I hated it. I want weeks of my life back!" We are also NOT telling people to go to places that might have good population amounts, but places that FOR SURE have population levels high. And if people keep the ball rolling it can only get better. Unless your worried that one day these servers will hit FULL too often and getting in is a problem, well yes that is a possible concern to keep in mind, which is why we want to keep updating the OP about possible "next in line" choices to go to before that reaches a boiling a point. I also honestly feel that a lot of people are mad because unlike other MMO's, re-rolling on SWTOR is a pain if you have established characters on other servers because of the Legacy system and well... yeah you're right. I wish there was a better way until BioWare fixes everything but this is the best solution we have. The only other solution is waiting it out until BW fixes this problem, which WHO KNOWS when that will happen (and I'm talking about server merges, server transfers I don't think will do enough) or just forgetting about it and leaving altogether. That also bring up another point why we wanna do this. We WANT this game to succeed but we also want to have fun doing it. If that means we have to make a few concessions because of some oversight then we'll do it. It should also be said that the community on these populated servers are definitely open to new players who come from dead servers because I'm guessing at one point a fair number of them were just like you at one point. So unless you have a better solution till BioWare fixes this, re-roll and start having fun NOW!
  3. I have the app running on my Ipod Touch sitting next to my computer. No problems at all, really like it. Highly recommend getting it.
  4. Yeah thats what I confirmed as well for PvE West Coast. The Harbinger is good for now, but as time progresses Droogas Pleasure Barge is definitely next in line. As well I should put my 2 cents on the whole "We shouldnt need to reroll, Bioware should be fixing this problem for us". I thought that the whole situation we would up in with so many servers was our fault. We wanted Bioware to make a buttload of servers so we wouldnt have issues of few servers that were overcrowded come launch day and well now we are paying for that. Do I think that Bioware doesnt need to do something? No of course not. Its also stupid of them NOT to fix this problem simply because more servers means more operational costs to keep them all running. if they can save money and provide a more healthy community in game then by all means they should. However Im sure they are trying to come up with and make a system to make this so. That is gonna take some time. That is why this initiative has come up to just reroll ourselves so we can quickly get back into enjoying the game the way it was supposed to played rather than relying 100% on Bioware to fix the problems.
  5. Yeah after checking out and re-rolling on The Harbinger I can say without a doubt that it is the first choice server that people in the US West area should go to for a server with a healthy population and a community which I have no complaints about. That server should remain a healthy population for a long time before it hits The Fatman ratios where Que times and overpopulation become a problem. As well the servers I stated for PvP, RP and RPPvP US West Coast still remain the same. The Swiftsure for PvP, Begeren Colony for RP and you only have 1 choice for RPPvP which is Ajunta Pall.
  6. Well it depends if your looking for US West or US East servers. If your looking for a populated US West server, look no further than The Harbinger, its PvE and can reach Heavy during peak times and the community seems very friendly. As for US East, you have 2 choices, you can either join The Fatman server, its PvP and it can actually get quite full so its not recommended. The second would be Canderous Ordo which is PvE and I believe has a fair amount of players. All this is based on info from this thread: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=359784 and based on my own findings on US West. If you have other questions feel free to ask
  7. I think they are sound. The servers change their population label (light, standard, heavy, very heavy, full) regularly during the day. The only ones I paid attention to were ones that were still at least standard before and as well after the heavy peak hours had come and gone. Example, The Harbinger is typically Standard during off speak hours, but goes to Heavy (and maybe one day to Very Heavy in the future) as the day goes on. Also the /who tool is telling me exaclty how many people there are online, you just have to collect under 100 samples of people at a time then add them up. It takes time but you can get a really good idea with actual raw numbers how many people are on a server. Based on that data is how I formulated what I came up with. In all honesty if you have a BETTER way to figure the best server to join then please by all means demonstrate it to the community here.
  8. Okay it is around or at least approaching what I believe people say is Prime Time (8:00pm or so if you live on the west coast). And after painstakingly going though /who on multiple servers, I have come to few suggestions regarding the more populated servers for people looking to help with this but who happen to be in the west coast. For West Coast PvE: The Harbinger server clearly has more numbers and should the one first loaded up for people looking to re-roll for PvE. After that the one next in line would be Drooga's Pleasure Barge but The Harbinger is the much better option for right now and is where I will be re-rolling. As well The Harbinger server seems very even with Republic and Empire almost neck and neck in terms of population For West Coast PvP: The Swiftsure server would be first up, I cant even offer a second one following that cause I haven't seen Swiftsure go over Standard nor have I seen another West Coast PvP server go past basic except Dark Reaper, but its numbers are significantly lower relatively speaking. For West Coast RP: My Best bet would be Begeren Colony even though the only other 2 West Coast RP servers arnt far behind, it would still be better to pick the most populated based on raw numbers and beef it up with more then keep all 3 as even as possible. For West Coast RPPvP: LOL you have one server to pick from, and that would be Ven Zallow. I haven't done a check of its numbers but I probably should to see if its even worth checking out or playing on an east Coast server. Then again it is RPPvP which probably doesn't see a whole lot action to begin with. Currently all RPPvP servers during peak times say Standard. Now it should obviously be said that anything I have said or listed here be taken with a grain of salt. I just wanted to give a sort of "hey this is what I've noticed" for West Coast players looking at this thread but only seeing data on Europe and East Coast servers. Chances are you might want to investigate this a bit more than myself have before you go and make a new character on a new server. Chances are even after this I will go back and check and see how servers are doing for an update to the server situation. If the OP would like to add this data to their OP (with their own colors, flair and edits of course) I would be most grateful.
  9. LOL yeah just realized how ridiculous that was. Edited my post simply to say I would make toons on multiple servers (both Republic and Empire of course). Currently just doing it on servers that say Standard or more right now (2PM) then going from there once actual peak times occur.
  10. Fair enough, sounds like a venture worth looking into, I'll see what I can do. *prepares to make a toon on multiple US West Coast servers*
  11. Im still wondering though, what is the current server recommended for US West Coast PvE/PvP to go too? I want to get in on this and re-roll but the OP doesnt really say a US West PvE/PvP coast server to try and join. If you could try and get a list going on servers for US West PvE and PvP in your OP that would be great so we as a community can come together just like you have succeeded with The Red Eclipse and others. Currently I play on the Soresu Server and just like everyone else's stories with low population servers its basically the same thing. The server just doesn't have the volume of player it needs to be fun as an MMO but Id be willing to start fresh just so I can have an opportunity to play the game like it were at launch with a lot more people on.
