  1. They haven't been fixed so as far as I'm concerned, keep posting about it. Doesn't hurt anyone except the trolls.
  2. Hey buddy I feel your pain with the flashpoints and even with the planetary heroics in some places. I DO in fact skip them all and keep questing because until there is some kind of LFG tool it just eats up too much play time. As a friend said to me though, don't feel like you're missing the FPs because many of them you can do later in Heroic Mode. I agree though, it is a shame it is so difficult to find groups for these since most of them are done really well.
  3. Thanks for the replies, good to know. I guess a lot of the complaints were during its infant stages.
  4. I read a lot of bad stuff from last year about the key app. Curious as to whether this is any better now. Should I bother with it? I know it's supposed to be more secure and there's a special vendor for doing it, but I don't want to worry about spending hours on the phone with customer service because it breaks too easily. Maybe this is one of those 'get what you pay for' things?
  5. I think that pretty well nails it. What you said made me think of SWG - not to say that game was EVER perfect, but that game at launch had a skill system you could truly tailor - not to mention no "levels". Player housing\decorating and all of the little things that made RP easy and immersive, and a crafting system that required work if you wanted to be decent at it. Huge planets to explore - the game was one huge sandbox and imo has offered the most, they just couldn't make up their minds and work with what they had. DAoC had a big appeal for me primarily because of their RvR system - the rest of the game was fairly cookie cutter. Every game since WoW has tried to emulate that style of gameplay due to its popularity, but that doesn't always translate well into the Star Wars realm. I like this game for what it is and will play until I've achieved everything I want to achieve. The difference is when I finished everything in SWG, I stuck around for probably a good 2 years just focusing on RP with friends. I can't honestly say the same thing will happen with this one...who knows? Maybe by the time I reach that point, the game will be different or I will be.
  6. I agree with the OP thoughts on DAoC and also someone elses thoughts on the age thing. I'm in a fairly large community on my server and the median age seems to be around 28-33, with a lot being older but that's probably about the average range I see. Speaking just for myself, I have about 2-3 hours a night to play so when I do log in I am more focused on leveling and accomplishing something. My guild has plenty of events I could attend, but each one would eat up most, if not all, of my playing time. It is nice to know that I have that outlet if I want it, but it seems we all communicate more on our forums for the socializing aspect - it's far more convenient and only eats work time
  7. You are right - they really don't matter other than if you want to purchase LS\DS stuff from the vendor. Personally I like it this way because there are many times in which making the right choice for my character will be DS and other times LS. There are also a lot of times where none of the responses are really ideal and I have to choose the closest to how I would answer. I found this especially true with my BH. I also like it because some genius decided to put LS\DS points in crew skill missions so even if I wanted to do 100% LS, I still have to take DS crew skill missions or I'd never finish leveling them.
  8. Are you looking for a group or a guild? What server are you on?
  9. My advice is to definitely branch out into RP-PvE. I'm going to talk about Lord Adraas server since that's what I know about. We have a mini RP community there made up of several guilds (JEDL for Jedi, RSOG - Troopers\Smugglers, SITH Order - Sith, Mando'ade - Bounty Hunters\Agents) so there's a place for everyone. There is also a healthy love of PvP so when you want to jump into warzones that is always an option. As for leveling, I pretty much just do quests along with all Bonus or Stage add-ons for the extra xp and supplement that with the PvP daily. I generally skip heroics and flashpoints - they just take too long to organize and if the group fizzles or someone rage quits then you just wasted valuable time you could have been questing imo. If nothing else, check out the site and read about the different guilds - maybe you see something you like; maybe you don't. http://www.jedlorder.com Cheers
  10. So as many of us know, timeline is often referred to as either BBY or ABY right? So, as sentient being actually living in this time period (BBY), how do we refer to the years? We cant refer to them as BBY since that battle is still a ton of years off in the future. Perhaps BSC and ASC (before\after the Sacking of Coruscant)? Thoughts? Ideas?
  11. Once they are unlocked, they are unlocked. Delete away.
  12. I generally skip planet heroics AND the FPs, but do everything else. I also throw in some PvP from time to time and I've never been underleveled for any planet. You do have to revisit planets and check the quest givers on the fleet since some of these are sending you back to a planet you may be done with for a bonus series. Example being a fleet NPC sent me back to Alderaan. The quest was gray, but I figured I'd just do it for the money. When I got there the quest mobs were my level and gave xp. Same deal with Hoth I think - ended up going back a planet or so later for the Bonus series. In other words, the bonus series for a planet will not always be available when you initially finish said planet.
  13. I've loved it since the beta weekends. I love the general eye candy, but I like the little things a lot of people might miss. I always take some time to pan around no matter where I am and just enjoy what was put into this. The class stories I've played through so far were awesome and I look forward to seeing the chapters continue. I decided to stay long enough to play through all of the class stories and now I want to unlock all of the Legacy stuff as well. I met a great in-game community which is a big help in keeping up the fun factor. I'm working on getting my third toon to 50 and still haven't seen all of the FPs\OPS\etc. I think too many people rush rush rush through these games and then complain when there's nothing left. It's the journey my friends - not the destination. I could sit on the forum all day and ***** about all of the things I don't like, but who's really listening? lol. Based on the interest level and speed of patch implementations, I know the dev team is aware of a lot of the common issues and I have faith they are working on them along with new stuff. Let's face it, they want to keep people subbed and everyone in the industry is well aware of SWG's many debacles. No one wants to be that guy again lol.
  14. I sent a main hand construction kit from my 50 BH to a newbie Operative I made and was able to get a nice blaster rifle. I can see where it is nice if you roll a lot of alts, but my main thing is that the stuff isn't moddable so I'm going to outlevel it in 2 hours anyway...what's the point?
