  1. The survivability of dps sins/shadows have seems to have decreased some since 5.0 came out. But....I've seen plenty of both in pvp last longer then others. Seems more a play-style and knowing the spec more then anything. I main a sin tank and soloed a serenity shadow the other day in a Civil War match, twice. That may have been a gear thing.
  2. I have a sin tank that i use skank gear on for pvp. I've rarely gotten over a million damage and once only had top damage. The problem isn't the skank tanks, it's people changing their method on how to deal with them. I've had it pointed out to me in another part of the forums, to better deal with a class play it for a while and learn it that way. I've also dueled other classes a bit and learned how to better use my defensive abilities. It pretty much comes down to the player and not the class. Changes aren't needed to nerf yet another class/spec.
  3. Seems like I msiread part of it then; thanks for the clarification. Seems like quite a few bugs still out there after four years, like being able to cap while taking damage.
  4. I use phase walk in hypergate and a few others on my shadow to get to points quickly. I've also gotten out to a pylon in hypergate before I could actually click the pylon itself. Is it an "exploit"? Only to those that don't have it as an ability. If you want to get rid of it in pvp then let's get rid of the commando/merc backwards movement ability and the outward push that slinger/snipers and merc/commandos have. All about knowing the class that you are playing.
  5. Could gear alts or crew while you do enough of Yavin 4 to get the weekly done to get that gear for them. Otherwise it's getting the alpha wave inhibitors for Nightmare Pilgrim. I might be missing something, but besides those they are pretty useless.

  7. I run my shadow as a tank in pvp anymore. Other then the shield I use dps gear, little more squishy but the damage output is better.
  8. Jumped into group finder and put us into Cademineu(spelling). Started off fine until until we wiped on some trash just after the cantina trash fight. The tank left and then the healer left after he made a comment about me, on my shadow, being in force technique and balance specced and not infiltraion like most dps shadows are in the game. Have to love how some people think that there are ony two specs to some classes.
  9. The Hutt statute was for pre-ordering "Rise of the Hutt Cartel"; as for the other two, Malgus and Shan, the are cartel items. There might be one on the trade market. Not sure if you you can get them with cartel coins anymore.
  10. If you know someone that plays a counselor or a smugg. you can ask them to duel you for the practice or ask another guardian for any advice. Could try changing up your rotation too.
  11. I completely agree, and if the "elite" pvpers can't stand those that solo que because the friends that I pvp with aren't on or are busy, maybe you make you should organize some ranked games. Hmmmm, there's an idea!
  12. Change specs or reroll the character. I have a level 50 sorcerer that is DPS and i enjoy it very much in pvp. Trying to solo anyone else while in a warzone is hard unless you go for a trooper that doesn't know the rotation that well.
  13. With my level 50 sorcerer I'm guilty of using consumption to boost my healing numbers but stop when I get the 2.5 and 5k medals. And I tend to use it when I am not dpsing a fight. With a good war zone, which seems less and less the last month and a half I can pull an easy 75k healing through the madness skill tree. I should have taken a picture of the end screen of this war zone but I have seen big numbers for damage and healing in voidstar that went to the last second. The next question is this, in these high number war zones, do the healers have a healer?
  14. There are a lot of unbalanced matches that I've been, especially recently. Unless they go by gear and start keeping track of numbers that characters pull in the matches I'm not sure if there is much that they(the devs) can do about it. I've seen Marauders and Powertechs out damage everyone in a warzone, and I've done the same with my geared sorcerer. Is it a matter of classes being too overpowered or a matter of people know what works? The premades should be put into warzones against other premades though.
  15. It's a matter of people getting to know what they need for PvP compared to PvE. I do warzones with a friend that doesn't have as much expertise as my sorcerer does, I keep static barrier up on both of us as much as possible and we bring in the medals and an average of 250K damage each. Gear does matter in warzones put it takes a long time to get enough commendations to get a full set of war hero gear unless you are using a premade.
  16. Thanks for making a positive thread, made my night at working reading it. I am with you on sticking with this game. Only been on WoW three times in the last month. I sure hope more people get their problems with this game fixed and get your attitude toward it.
  17. No game is ever perfect when it first launches, especially an mmo. Bio ware and EA will fix the bugs with the patches. You could always go play the Conan mmo if swtor doesn't please you.
