  1. Lol I think it is funny so many people doubted this was an april fools joke. There were a lot of individual signs (like trade marking names for an update!) and that it just makes no business sense. There were a lot of signs it was a joke by the general look and feel of the entire page, its announcement, and the general attitude of it. I think it just must be a lot of kids. I don't know how anyone could seriously believe this, especially given the day.
  2. Have I just been super unlucky... I run grade 6 abundant/moderate and rich grade 5 slicing missions on max affection toons on my main character while playing and very rarely get any crafting missions at all.
  3. If you arn't going to go into cover then you really do need to spec dirty fighting. You should go read/ask in the gunslinger forums.
  4. If you arn't too good at the crafting side of things just sell grade 6 mats from your gathering skills for a profit. You will make a decent amount of credits doing that.
  5. The only thing biochem will do after the reusables become less useful is simply being able to create cheaper consumables and sell consumables. The benefit of the craft is merely to make and sell heal pots/stims etc for all to use. You could be a different craft and buy them off AH too.
  6. No. The hutt cartel network is completely seperate. The issue is there is not many items on it because of that. Imo a hutt cartel system should be purchasable for your ship at legacy level 10 so that it is used more.
  7. So if I get some BM commendations I should not buy BM gear until next patch?
  8. Biochem needs access to new and better implants or they need to greatly increase the amount of stims/medpacs you receive for the same mats. If you could make a lot of stims for a small cost everyone would have the benefit of stims without breaking the bank and the biochemists would make money. The idea is that it would work like warhammer liniments i.e. you could afford to keep yourself stocked up even if you just did dailies and were a mere consumer of them. That way everyone makes credits and biochem is not at an unfair advantage.
  9. I would like to see one where it isn't sped up. It's just a bit too much.
  10. It is also that the only run and gun spec, DF/lethality (and their associated hybrid playstyles) are extremely gear dependant. They don't feel viable when you first hit 50, even in full centurian gear and I dare say full champ gear (without trading out mods/enhancements). Until you can get 1500+ cunning and 400+ power with 10% expertise you will have some issues with the run and gun play style. It starts becoming extremely powerful at 1600 - 1700 cunning and 600+ power. At that point the damage is insane but only restricted by energy (I can burst down anything but a tank spec tank with a shield if I want to blow 100 energy on it), which is why they are reducing wounding shots white damage by 15% but reducing its energy of that and HB to compensate.
  11. If DF spec is not viable why did it need to be nerfed? People say that it wasnt known for its white damage. I am not sure if people realise that the white damage portion does more than the internal damage portion. You have to factor in armour but it does more vs light armour easily. My white damage base is aprox 900 so it can crit pretty hard for three ticks. There was just no reason to reduce the crit by 3% on the first tier buff and reduce the white damage portion of wounding shots by 15%. It really isn't worth it for 5 less energy. Maybe it would be for 10 - 15 less energy. Btw DF will work against premades because if the healers are constantly cleansing every 4.5s then they are putting out less heals and your other dps will mop them up in the assist train anyway). You also assume that the cleanses will cleanse the dots. If this is premade vs premade and you're assisting the focus target will have a huge amount of debuffs on them.
  12. If we start with the assumption that DF (or DF/sab hybrid etc) is the best spec for pvp, which most people would agree then 1.2 seems to be creating some issues. Firstly, the changes to SS and Sab still don't make them better than DF in pvp so we still have to use DF, at least imo. Dirty Fighting (Gunslinger) Bombastic now correctly requires Shrap Bomb. Hemorrhaging Blast no longer has an Energy cost. Hold Your Ground's cooldown reduction for Pulse Detonator has been reduced to 2.5 seconds per point. Holdout Defense now increases Blaster Whip damage by 4% per point. No Holds Barred now increases critical chance by 1% per point. Reopen Wounds now increases the critical chance of Wounding Shots and Speed Shot by 4% per point. Wounding Shots now costs 25 Energy (down from 30). The weapon damage component of this ability has been reduced by approximately 15%, but bleeding damage remains unchanged. I am not sure what was overpowered about a 20s knockdown but now it will be 25s if you spec into Hold your Ground. They reduced the blasterwhip bonus damage that nobody uses from 10% for 2 points to 8%. We now only get 3% crit instead of 6% crit on our crit passive skill. We get an increase of 4% crit on wounding shots and speed shot to compensate (but it doesn't compensate it completely so its a nerf). Wounding shots costs slightly less energy but now faces quite a substantial damage reduction. HB (not that there is a reason to spec 31 DF spec when the hybrid specs are better) now costs no energy but it only cost 10 before. So we get very slightly better energy management, and our energy consumption is only down by 5 but we lose our on a fair bit of damage which we then need to spend more energy to compensate, creating an overall nerf to the DF spec. I don't know if being able to stay in cover a bit longer and crouching while immobilised is really going to make SS spec the new thing for pvp. Similiarly 31 point sab still won't put out the burst you need to kill things. You will see a tonne of quick shot spammers though. Overall this is a terrible patch for GS. I would prefer we are unchanged so I can still do the same damage instead of less.
  13. You're looking at more damage than that for wounding shots. Mine does something like 830 - 930 damage plus 330 internal damage per dot. So that's 660 per second + aprox 880 per second for 3 seconds. That's 4620 over 3s. With 9 ticks we can assume on average at least 3 of those will crit. There are more internal ticks than there are white ticks so we can assume that on average 1 white tick and 2 internal ticks will crit. That's an extra 500 damage from the internal ticks based on aprox 75% surge and 660 exra from a white tick. That's 5780 damage over 3s. As it is a channel too you're regenning energy for 3s and getting the dot ticks in that time frame to create a period of burst.
  14. That build you linked doesn't have wouding shots. I assume you meant to add that and not get sabotage. If we could get wounding shots and sabotage I doubt there would be many complaints about this class.
  15. That's simply not true. Armour is insane in this game. People's perceptions are what is incorrect. Most people think that because some elemental/internal dots exist that armour doesn't do anything. Armour actually mitigates all of jedi knights focus building stuff and a lot of their attacks except the dots. Armour mitigates damage of most shadow stuff, HIB/railshot from vanguard/PT which is a significant part of their damage, sniper/GS damage except 2 dots and a tick of a channel that does a base of 300 based on those dots (most damage is weapon damage), a significant amount of sorc/sage stuff due to them doing kinetic damage, and operative/scoundrel damage (but they get a 30% debuff). Merc/commando have an armour debuff on grav round/tracer missile but it has to stack up and it is only a small debuff. Armour still helps against this. If you play a class with light armour you will notice the difference when you have heavy armour. This why tanks with their tank stance with even more armour again can be so hard to kill.
  16. I noticed this when you pointed it out. His valor trend his a bit lol. FOTM ftw?
  17. No you need one or the other so either the credits or the legacy level. If you have the legacy level then you don't need to pay. There are some exceptions like the GTN which requires legacy 35 and costs 5m but this won't be an issue because legacy 35 is super hard to get and you will easily have significantly more than 5m by that time. This is confirmed in a dev post. Click on dev tracker to verify and read the second post from the top (as of now).
  18. They are supposed to be adding an option to turn this off in 1.2.
  19. Adjusting the mirror is implied. It is so obvious it just goes without saying.
  20. At level 34 you're better off with a sharpshooter spec because you don't have the tools to use DF effectively yet.
  21. I don't really think sharpshooters need an aoe damage reduction though. It would be more useful than say burst volley if that's what it is replacing, but I don't think anyone ever woke up and thought 'wow, you know what our single target cover spec with long range needs, aoe damage reduction!' It can't hurt I guess. A change to incendiary grenade will be interesting because in its current form it is of only marginal use and its damage isn't that great (it doesn't interrupt caps now does it?).
  22. I do think legacy level 35 is a bit extreme for a GTN on your ship. I don't know anyone who is legacy level 35 or going to be any time toon. I think 20 is more reasonable considering the cost of 5 million credits too (The dev post states that you have to be legacy level 35 before you can purchase the GTN on the ship i.e. works differently to the other stuff).
  23. I wonder if this is allowed... they haven't removed the thread yet so maybe they don't see it as much of an issue.
  24. In my opinion spending 3 points to make charged burst kinetic damage does not seem worth it considering all you will gain is that ability not being defended against a small % of the time. You're really just speccing into accuracy for one ability. Maybe if it was elemental damage so it ignored armour then it would be cool but I would be worried that people would just spam it.
