  1. To what end? Is it going to be 10 more missions 'on-rails' as a fluff piece? Are there going to be more rewards for the ships (i.e. better weapons/armor/shields etc.) Or is just another 10 missions to earn credits and daily coms? Would love to see them integrate some space missions with the ground content. For example - your group of 4 fly your individual ships (or in turrets) through a few waves of fighters or capital ships - land on a orbital station - fight through the FP and blow up the reactor - escape with a time limit back to the hanger and fly off - watching the station blow up behind you. THATS Star Wars! Not another 10 on-rail missions the have no point or no bearing on galatic events.
  2. Unfortuneatly - to your first point - its a convience issue. Think if you had 20 peope with the first name 'John' on the server - all with different legacy names. You got to write and email, or do a whisper, or group invite etc. - You would now have to type out the full first and legacy name of the character to ensure the correct 'John' would get your message. To your 2nd issue - Its a suck point - Yes BW messed up with too many servers and now is correcting the issue. Your server wasn't selected as the golden ticket destiniation server. Why should the player who happened to be on the destination server - who could be just as attached to his/her name as you are - be 'punished' simply because you two share the same taste in names. Take it to the next level - what if 3 or 4 or 5 people have the same name - who takes priority? The Unseen Code issue is most likely being used today. In most complex relational database - your character 'record' is assigned a database generated 'Primary Key'. Most likely a unique number. This is the 'key' that links all your associated information to your particular character. Pick up a piece of gear and put it in your inventory? From a databse standpoint it creates a record on the 'Personal Inventory' table with two entries - Your primary key - and the primary key from the 'Global Items' table to associate the fact you now own the piece of gear. Sell the item - record gets deleted. And Yes - I lost a name in the server xfer. I used the name 'Killashandra' which is a popular name from a book. I've used her on 4 different MMORPGs. She is now 'Killashandria'. And on a final note - Lets say all your idea about a 'new super-server first come-first serve' do come into play - and you still 'lose' your name - you'd be just as pissed - but BW would have spent hundreds of man-hours coding for changes that could have been invested elsewhere. And how many 'new' super-servers (which would be stagnating with population) TL;DR Version - 1. Your Server didn't make the 'golden ticket' list for destination. Sorry 2. You can't 'punish' people on the lucky servers for sharing the same tast in names as you 3. To combine First Name/Legacy Name as the 'unique' name combination would be massively unwieldy in terms of invites, whispers, emails, or a host of other things. 4. Server populations are in MUCH better shape since the xfers (economy, groups, pool of resources). And if you couldn't read the writing on the wall about the old servers eventually being shut down - sry again...
  3. The gear with open slots is 'crit-crafted' gear. Which is still possible after augment kits. However when you crit-craft a piece of gear it only has an equivalent level augment-kit-level to it. So if you crit-craft a level 41 item - it will only have an equivalent MK-4 or MK-5 slot. You'd have to upgrade it to put a MK-6 augment in it.
  4. If you are talking about the 5million personal ship GTN kiosk - then yes - it is attached to the Hutt GTN. But the fact is now ALL kiosks are the Hutt GTN. There are no longer faction-based GTNs. As for being worth it - If you have the credits go for it. I found that re-listing all my items from my ship kiosk a ton faster than if I'm on the fleet due to the lag.
  5. Nah - means more people will screw up the economy now selling items for less than what it costs to craft them
  6. Anyone done a HM flashpoint yet? I was curious if they changed the loot tables there as well Read this in the patch notes •Affected bosses drop items directly instead of dropping tradable tokens. Every boss now has at least one valid item per gear role. Many bosses now drop a variety of items (instead of items for a single slot). Commendation and ingredient drops have also received minor updates. and I was curious if that affected the HM bosses loot tables as well. I would hate to need only the columni gloves from Taral V and run 5 FPs and get 5 tier pants thanks to the RNG...
  7. I read this: •Affected bosses drop items directly instead of dropping tradable tokens. Every boss now has at least one valid item per gear role. Many bosses now drop a variety of items (instead of items for a single slot). Commendation and ingredient drops have also received minor updates. in the new patch notes - I was looking for clarification. Does this mean we have no idea what the final boss of an encounter is going to drop? If you are shooting for a specific piece of gear (i.e. Colmni Gloves) as the only piece you need - you would want to focus on Taral V (Rep) - so if I'm reading the patch notes properly - its the joyus RNG for what loot is going to drop. And you could run 5 different FPs and get 5 tier leg tokens....
  8. Need to move this back to the top...
  9. Please Please Please! I love the fact that there are 300+ people on now and the economy is booming and people are everywhere - but for the love of getting near a mailbox and the GTN or the cargo bays - Please disable speeders in the fleet. Everyone with the monster two-seaters are just siting there and trying to get to the objects is difficult and annoying. Not to mention the 'constant' ambient sound of 250 engines running.... Thanks!
  10. Dr. Peter Venkman: This city (In our case SERVER) is headed for a disaster of biblical proportions. Mayor: What do you mean, "biblical"? Dr Ray Stantz: What he means is Old Testament, Mr. Mayor, real wrath of God type stuff. Dr. Peter Venkman: Exactly. Dr Ray Stantz: Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies! Rivers and seas boiling! Dr. Egon Spengler: Forty years of darkness! Earthquakes, volcanoes... Winston Zeddemore: The dead rising from the grave! Dr. Peter Venkman: Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together... mass hysteria! Mayor: All right, all right! I get the point!
  11. Of xfer servers and target servers? This is like watching the lottery - seeing if you are lucky enough to be a target server.
  12. Though it wasn't specifically covered - most likely the answer will be 'no'. Given how they are talking about how they have to schedule moves and how they could take hours (to days) and these are for active paying customers - they probably don't want to clog up the tubes with un-subbed people. My suggestion would be for your friend to pay a $15 re-sub for one month - perform his transfer - and then shut down again. Yeah it sucks - but in the long run it might save him a $25 (or more) fee later on. I hate using the words 'In other MMOs' - but in order to even access the transfer screens you have to have an active account. In SWTOR - you can't even get by the launcher to view the server lists if you don't have an active subscription.
  13. Look for the Pilot armor on he spaceship parts vendor (the one you trade tokens on) - has the black pilot looking stuff...might be close to what you want
