  1. I'll try it but don't think thats the issue. I have a 25k USD CPU from digital storm. I think it's bitraider and something with the machines from AW / DS, I will give this a try after I try this non ST install.
  2. Yes I did these all. And that line is what is said on the holocom in text.
  3. Returning player after years away (2012 last played) came back and all my class quests were reset? SO I did the first one available and the 3rd part of this quest, it says use your personal holocom. When I go to do this it says "Congratulations Knight, I'll see you on Coruscant" and then freezes, no dialogue after nothing happens, quest line doesn't advance. I tried restarting game, tried resetting quest twice, I tried going in ship, to fleet etc, nothing works. Please, help, I will give anyone with answer to this 100 dollars!. thank you.
  4. he just needs to repeat, and pick 3 servers / do all planets at 5 different equal shares of the day 2 am 1 afternoon 2 night including prime time. Mean averages and apply the theory to all servers, also find 1 person from each server and faction to do this for you (Id do it for my server) compile the data, over say a 2 week period.
  5. This actually works, if you do it 2 more times and record that data. Also, do it 2 more times 45 days from now. Than again after major titles (gw2 ect) launch. You will get trending
  6. I did run it :-) Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition 3960X 3.3GHz (Six-Core) ASUS Rampage IV Extreme X79 (Intel X79 Chipset) SATA 6b/s 16GB DDR3 1600MHz Corsair Dominator DHX 1200W Corsair Pro Gold Series (CMPSU-1200AX) (Dual/Triple/Quad SLI Compatible) 250GB Solid State (By: Intel) (Model: 510 Series SSDSC2MH250A2K5) x3 Rad 0 configured SLI Triple (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 1.5GB (PhysX) (Overclocked EVGA 015-P3-1582-BR) Digital Storm Cryo-TEC CPU System & Chipset + Triple Video Cards Liquid Cooling Upgrade Chassis With Zalman Performance Fans (x6) Touch V12XT Aerocool Temperature Display & Fan Controller Noise Suppression Package Overclock CPU 4.5GHz to 4.8GHz Video/memory/OS all Overclocked has multiple extras ect.... but like I said I run everything at below freezing, SWTOR bring it above 0.
  7. I have a Rig from digital storm (17,000 USD) monitors ect drove the price up, but the cooling is state of the art, I can run most things 1-3 degrees minus "C" SWTOR is the only game that actually puts me in over 0. With my cooling that says a ton about the games optimization. To put in perspective, I can run Google earth 100 times, play wow, aion LOL and have 600 web pages open playing videos, you tube w/e (more but got bored testing.) I had a dvd playing and my itunes downloading plus ran 3 more free to play MMOs all on the highest setting and never went above 0. I run SWTOR alone and go above 0. SOMETHING IS WRONG!!!!

  9. This forum is littered with QQ and niche comments like list 5 things you like 5 things you don't, lag, crystals color ect ect .... Never once has it been said WOW Karraags is awesome or EV8/16 is the best raid ever@ Anyone with a brain knows what we have now is bare bones and lacking in balance, content and not lacking in bugs and tedium. Conversely, we can find things we do enjoy about the title, all of this is aside from the core issue at hand. Point being, the core issue, the wow (Not Warcraft, actual word,) factor. This game doesn't really have that. I don't regret buying the game, will play it until D3 or something, but that's it. I like the concept, and wish it was more, but sadly won't be staying for the long run. Those that are I hope get the fixes they desire. Those moving on, hope your next gaming experience brings you the things you are looking for. Cheers Will
  10. I never said anything about the fate of EA, more the fate of SWTOR, by looking at EA as a whole. Much will change in the next year, so anything they say is subject to scrutiny. That said, EA is not a choice to put money to work, when other opportunities are better suited atm. I mostly blame the old SEGA C suites execs that sit on the board and run the company .. when they go, and when EA gets back to doing what they do best and what works (and leaves the MMO business.) I will invest .. or rather, when I see that happening will invest. They will be a staple, or another AOL / Myspace as times change ... the playfish thing in 08 was bad, but if they get back to their roots, all will be well .. least for awhile!
  11. You still miss the whole point. EA = Big Picture SWTOR = Small Picture Meaning: How much can SWTOR absolutely affect EA's share price? Variance is about 6.5-7 percent This is, if they shut down the server tomorrow and based on to date sales and collected subscriptions. 2.5-3.5 of SWTOR activity mean they are on the bottom 1/2 of this "reality" = not good lol. This said, an additional 7 percent is not really game breaking for EA. Its more the opportunity cost and brand damage. Brand can recover easily (time and PR plus product) Opportunity takes time as well ... and New IP plus old in projects that create real revenue flow .. such as DA3, ME3 another KOTOR or one of its many titles that do well on console. Long term however ... Not enough in the pipeline and will be overshadowed on 3 front (subs / F2p / MT's) I expect a net loss of .30 - .45 a share by years end, and this trend thru Q2 2013. By then, we will have a better look at what the pipeline is for whats being produced now.
  12. Sorry, all this is reported on any business intelligence service site. I use CapitalIQ and the breakdown is already done. very easy for publicly traded companies. Even has the variance per units shipped / logistics and box cost vs Downloads and CE's.
  13. I was and it didn't "Shoot up" Look at EA's performance vs almost any other company from 08-12 Look at where they are operating. Won't argue with the uniformed. Do some research, or better yet, actually invest in EA, and if you win and do better per point than I do, I will concede and call you my god, and offer you 400k a year plus bonuses to work in my investment group.
  14. No, Blizzard has a ton coming out. It was too keep numbers up for the year. Accounting 101 .. if you pay the upfront cost, I can count you as a sub each month for the year and adjust revenue tables accordingly. So if you stop playing, or many quit, but they paid, they are counted thru the year.
  15. LOL no, That account is shared with 5 or 6 people lol. Anyway, Point is I was right about the projected state of the game, declining stock and community concerns. Later!
  16. It is finite You are one of the people I warned of, sorry your (insert iBank here) interview didn't go well :-) You should know the buy box / pay sub model is finite ... this is done in every MBA class since 1999. The study always produces the same results lol. The number sits 23-24 million. Did I not by de facto imply that fluctuation exists ... but we are looking at sustainability and continuity from an investment prospective. Further, gaming is, for the most part, recession proof on the MMO front, as long as alternate payment methods are available (pay time cards, debit, credit ect.) Sure, there are those that lose a job, cant afford to play, students that get to behind and quit ect ect ... These are obvious and adjusted for. This number is not the total amount of gamers, or the hybrids (Buy the box / play for free, like GW2) opr the buy the game / DLC folks ... or (F2p micro-transaction based.) These make up the bulk of gamers (for PC,) and PS3 / Cell / Xbox folks make up the other part of the puzzle, with stand off titles (some with DLC over the platforms networks.) The number we are talking about, is the buy the box / pay the subs .. which is finite and splintered, and is why many titles have gone from that model to a F2P / Micro transaction model. This is Also why (or at least a factor.) Blizzard has offered the "Annual Pass." Anticipation of the drop off, incentivizing the upfront monetary commitment to keep interest and players committed for another 10-12 months.
  17. Well, No need to deal in extremes ... look at it as "a window" Figurative of course, as in a space of time ... lets call in 3 months. I am bored for example, and do not play very often save to raid and obtain enough for repairs. So I ask why am I bored .... why do I not play this game and engage it with the excitement I did Aion (for a limited time,) wow for many years, and other games (ff11, kingdoms of Amular more recent,) ... and these were states, but are expanded upon and repeated daily on the forums. Keep in mind, some of it is MMO burn out .. but the root of it, the meat of the problem is pretty much the lack of features but not lack of bugs ... Meaning ... Basic fixes take too long, the game is not balanced in the sense of populations / pvp-pve and crafting. (These things have an inverse relationship in both currency / economy / time and product used for both.) You can read the Illum stuff, Imperial dominance stuff, BM BS ect ect ... not worth repeating. PVP aside, breaking encounters in EV8/16 every week is a huge ***. Nerfing crafts (like Biochem,) for the reasons and justification given exposes the fundamental flaws in design and balance. I could actually care less, about many of these at face value, but in detail, they are pretty bug deals and adversely affect the community, especially those in "the window." 3 months, in the average amount of time gamers will stick around and wait for "the miracle," or rather the patch the fixes all patches :-) Cycles: If nothing else was on the horizon, I would say this window could be stretched further, but with DOTA2 on the way, GW2, TERA, (People playing KOA atm,) MOP and various other things coming out soon, the growth ceases and the population starts becoming splintered. Eventually, those paying subs just cancel and move on. For those with friends, the window is extended, unless the decision to migrate to another title as a group is made, than these people leave in droves. Whats left? Casuals and Diehards (both terms used loosely) Bad things is, there are not enough features (crafts, mounts, achieves ect) to keep the casual base happy .... so like I mentioned before, you fall into the niche.
  18. I wrote that post. Stock just closed at its all time low this past week. Subs are slipping ... and this was written awhile back. Look, I made it clear in my posts that trolls do come out yadda yadda, but for those of us that do this for a living and are compensated well for being good at our jobs, that is, the ability to gather business intelligence, track metrics and make predicative analysis on the performance of a company / stock based on "key" factors are usually met at the gate by "nay sayers", "99 percenters," fan boys, trolls, jedi and the occasional lightsaber kid. All those folks aside, when I sold, I acquired second market 675k in FB equity shares, when I option these at IPO, I will have the last laugh as will my investment group. Past that opportunity, we look to 38studios, and Blizzard once the next quarter releases are out and the prince slips to a low. Blizzard has a pipeline and innovative staff (look at the new spyro and its appeal 800-1b projected.) You have D3 around the corner, the 10 million plus subs is still amazing, though projected to stall out at 7.4-7.6 by years end. (These will be made up by Gw2 and the like .. as mentioned, the MMO base is finite and holds at 23.5-24 million in NA/EU) Lest we forget the next gen MMO in the works. 38studios just blew skyrim out of the water, and because Curt is friends with EA's CEO, they formed a pseudo partnership (for this RPG,) EA will not be involved with the 38studios MMO launch however. Bioware does great jobs with the RPG / single player games with DLC. MMOs have been its weakest point, and too many failures at xyz opportunity cost is really pushing investors away and upsetting many others. 38studios is another investment and a company I have been harking for the past 2 years almost. Everything else is in the MOBA and F2P spaces, no other niche is or MMO is viable atm from a business stance, that is, companies with a subscription model are considered a liability outside the two listed ... (for growth,) lest we forget EQ / FF11 and the limited sub run of LOTRO, all of which people play with 2 going F2p and the other (square - enix) .. well lets just say I wont go into that lol. Anyway ... these things oftentimes are indirect (but not collectively exhaustive,) metrics is ascertaining the predictive arguments for questions such as ... Will this game be successful (in terms of people and revenue) Will this game grow and receive support (customer service / regular updates and expansions.) Will this game have staying power? This is essentially a technical argument for the case that this game will fail expectations, see decent success among the Star wars fans (those that enjoy the brand, same as those that enjoy the FF and LOTR brands for those games respectively,) and will fall way side as a niche option to the mainstream, which is dominated by Blizzard on the subscription front, NCsoft on the F2P front and Zygna on the Social Platform front. Of course, You could employ propositional calculus and form a logical argument for the state of the game ... and probably come up with the same results. That said, If you like SWTOR, great play it! Many of us are on the ropes and not satisfied and the forums are an outlet to let off steam, and deep down, a cry to Bioware in hopes they read what we write day in and out and allocate the resources to fix the issues and implement the things that we want in game, that should have been there to start! DISCLAIMER: Again, these are my opinions and none of this constitutes financial / investment / legal advice. This is not meant as a source document or prospectus, but rather an OP_ED piece keeping with the customs and norms of forum posting. Sorry for typos, I just got back from the Garden (Knicks vs Lakers) and it was "LIN-SANE" Sinius
  19. I can tell you 6 million will never happen (not any MMO) every again outside of Blizzards next Gen. Also, The next successful MMO will come from 38 Studios and Blizzard respectively.
  20. Sure, CaptialIQ.com Look under electronic arts, and there are a series of tabs to the left. Pull the 6 month revenue e projections, target projections and net (actual) figures. Under metrics, break down by line item (all the titles / projects ect are there.) After that, look at SWTOR Budget Subscriptions Sales Revenue Other And just run the metrics on excel (they have the excel work actually done as well, and a report you can print out or view in word.
  21. Guys, This is twisting the truth. The numbers are well under 1m, probably 400-600k paying subs as of Feb 1. You need to know there are a finite number of people willing to both pay to buy a game and also pay a subscription to continue playing the game. WOW is bleeding numbers, and SWTOR is as well. The real question, in NA/EU ... is where are the people going or planning on going? Some of the answers are in the MOBA ganre like League of Legends, DOTA 2, some are waiting for dibalo 3, Skyrim and Kingdom of Amular pre-orders are very strong. Still others are are waiting on MOP and GW2 while others are exploring the F2P market. With this games IP, I would assume it will hold 350-450k subs for the long haul .. far from WOW numbers, but decent nonetheless. They do need to merge many servers though, and as soon as they make the next quarterly report, they most likely will. Think when that happens and they add server forums (less servers will make this a reality ...) that sense of community will be in place and the game will be a decent MMO for those staying.
  22. They realize they can nerf the damn skill, and even if it only healed 2000 and the stims / adrenals only did 1/2 of what they do now ... IT WILL STILL BE PREFERRED, OFTEN MANDATORY IN HARDCORE GUILDS!!!!!!! You aren't deterring its use, just making the people raiding your buggy content suffer. ... suffer more that is :-) Restore Biochem tot he 6k heals plus 2k DOT. Just make a medpack for pvp only and disable the other medpacks for pvp (that are used outside WZ's) if the pvp part is an issue. (or something to that degree.) Nerfing pve for pvp is a mistake, and you will lose players. Nerfing Biochem because it "feels" mandatory .. buff your other crew skills, but the nature of archtype raiding favors mix/maxing and heals.
  23. ... OK the 1st nerf broke it, medpacks heal for next to nothing in t2/t3 gear ... This did it for me im done ... games that do this have always failed (aion, ff14 ect) to the degree subs vs original box sales. Later
  24. So how about a desktop then? Which sites would you recommend? If not alienware. I want top end (5-6k) with liquid cooling and enough cooling for performance lol.
  25. So, Here's what I am about to get - This is in a laptop the M18x (not a desktop.) Intel® Core™ i7 2960XM Overclocked Turbo Boost to 4.0GHz (8MB Cache) [Add $975.00 or $30.00/month1] Genuine Windows® 7 Ultimate, 64bit [Add $150.00 or $5.00/month1] Alienware Recommended 16GB Dual Channel DDR3 at 1600MHz (4DIMMS) [Add $400.00 or $12.00/month1] Dual 2GB GDDR5 NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 580M – NVIDIA® SLI® Enabled [Add $600.00 or $18.00/month1] 512GB RAID 0 (2x 256GB) Solid State Drive SATA 3Gb/s [Add $800.00 or $24.00/month1] Dell UltraSharp U2711 27-inch Monitor [$999.00 or $30.00/month1] May ship after your Alienware M18x Alienware M18x Space Black Anodized Aluminum, Genuine Windows® 7 Ultimate, 64bit Western Digital 2 TB USB 3.0 My Book External Hard Drive Product Details HD3 Gaming Chill Mat - Black --- So, My first concern is WILL THESE OVERHEAT? CAN I PLAY FOR 6-8 HOURS AT A TIME? Obviously liquid cooling systems on desktops ect are preferred for gaming, I want the laptop to take to work / travel, but to replace my Desktop as well. I plan on using it with a desktop monitor (as a CPU.) and game with a regular keyboard / mouse / headset ect. The specs rival most top end gaming rigs (desktops,) that said, cooling on desktops gets rough as is, how does a gaming laptop like this actually stay cool? I got the cooling pad, but that was it, will this thing burn up after a few hours of gaming? Also that monitor, is there something particularly special about it to justify 1k? the 24 inch was under 300 .. just curious. Need advice, and especially from other with top end gaming laptops. (that do the same thing I am.) Thanks in advance, this is about 5500 for the laptop and another 1500 for the accessories and monitor. But if overheating is an issue, perforce is an issue, I won't buy this ... but need the communities help :-) Thanks in advance! Will Note - this isn't a boast post ... This is a I don't wanna waste 6 grand post :-)
