  1. Of course it can survive and continue to prosper! Look at LOTRO. The subscriber base is hovering around 250k, give or take, and Turbine has been pretty methodical about pumping out new updates and expansions. Why would SWTOR be any different?
  2. Thanks! I had the same experience with the Crime Lord Packs. I NEVER received anything worthwhile in those. So maybe this is Bioware's penance toward me? LOL!
  3. I got one last night in the first Blockade Runner pack I opened. I like it a lot, and agree that it's better looking than the Sith throne.
  4. I made a pretty good haul last night with a few Blockade Runner Packs: Diplomat's Meditation Hoverchair Cyan-Blue Crystal Revan Armor Set DLA-13 Heavy Blaster Rifle C2-N2 Customization And a few other odds and ends, like emotes, credits and the like. The hoverchair is awesome, by the way. I've had much better luck with these packs then I ever had with the Crime Lord packs.
  5. I do this, too. I sell mats on the GTN and do dailies almost every day. I've found that Scavenging, Bioanalysis and Archeology provide the best returns.
  6. For my next character, I plan on picking up two of the Gammorean axes, modding them up, grabbing the invisible armor and naming him Conan the Sithberian.
  7. Count me in as an unabashed SWTOR fan! I've been playing since December 2011 and left only for a short time, which I ultimately regret. But I'm back and having fun. I can't wait to progress through all of the story lines, and this is the first MMO where I've actually been interested in the end-game.
  8. I love this because it's so true. I've had my eye on the Mask of Nihilus from the beginning, but try as I might, I just wasn't able to get one from a Cartel Pack. So what'd I do? I waited until the prices dropped from 5 mil to 1.4 mil on the GTN, pooled some credits from all of my characters, and just bought the damn thing for my Inquisitor. To me, it was money well spent. The thing is, the Cartel packs are pretty sweet; I've had my fair share of bric-a-brac, but I've also received some pretty cool items, too. I have no problems spending cash in the Cartel Market on packs and I suspect that a great deal of folks feel the same I do.
  9. Weird. A few other people in the Customer Service forum have noticed that they're missing 200 coins as well.
  10. Yeah, there's no reasonable parallel between the two. NGE was an entire rewrite of a game while SWTOR is simply going to a hybrid F2P set up.
  11. Up until today I had 2100 cartel coins showing up in my account, but now it shows that I only have 1900. Anyone else have this happen? And if so, I wonder why...
  12. Haha! My work here is finished then
  13. Was that necessary? I wouldn't mind seeing screenshots of more sets, either, but nothing in the OP's post seemed to indicate he/she was having a temper tantrum over it. And people are worried that F2P will bring the derp in. Some of you misfits are priceless.
  14. I played from December 2011 until August 2012 when I left to play LotRO. While I really enjoy that MMO, being a Tolkien and Middle-earth fan, I've since come back to SWTOR where I intend to make it my primary game of choice. I'm also looking forward to the F2P conversion (what can I say, I love cash shops), as well as Update 1.5.
  15. A thousand times this! On both of my characters I take Archeology, Bioanalysis and Scavenging and farm nodes while questing. I sell the mats on the GTN and literally watch the money roll in.
  16. It also doesn't need to specifically refer to playing with other people. I'm all for parallel play in MMOs, a form of play where folks play alongside each other. There's nothing that mandates your only social interactions with other players has to come from grouping. I personally love playing alongside others while maintaining social ties through chat channels and the like. Who said anything about redesigning the entire game to cater specifically to solo players? Why not have an option to choose between running an FP solo with a companion or with a full group? Having such a system in place does nothing to diminish your enjoyment of the game. It's not like it's going to take folks out of the pool of potential group members, because most people who enjoy soloing probably wouldn't group with you anyway.
  17. Most impressive... I'm hoping to get there one day, myself. How was the experience for you? Did you ever experience burn out, or was it a goal you set for yourself from the beginning?
  18. Why wouldn't they release expansions? Other F2P games have done it successfully. LotRO is on it's fourth expansion, for instance, and has a much smaller player base than SWTOR does.
  19. I have three characters right now and all three are healers (50 Counselor, 25 Inquisitor, 25 IA Operative) , so I'll give it a go tonight and see what happens. Thanks for all the responses, folks.
  20. I re-upped my sub this month after having been gone since around July and with the latest round of server mergers I'm wondering how folks are faring with the lower level FPs. In your respective experiences, are you folks finding it easy to get into them with the group finder?
  21. I work in magazine publishing, so we have a lot of down time in-between issues. Needless to say I spend most of it playing SWTOR
  22. I've been getting massive lag spikes since 1.3 went live. Also, my ping now seems to hover around 80 ms where it was just under 40 before 1.3. I'm hoping it's just because people have been slamming the servers after the patch release.
  23. I dunno, I'm remaining cautiously optimistic. I moved my Jedi over to Begeren Colony last night and I had a very good experience. Within the span of 30 minutes after logging in I was able to place and sell two stacks of mats on the GTN for 20K apiece (that's a lot, for me), formed a PUG for Directive 7 (a flashpoint that has been in my queue for weeks because I couldn't get anyone to join on Vrook), and subsequently got an invite to join an established guild. The fleet number also seemed to hover around 125 after prime time had long passed. So, yeah, it's still not up to where the PvE servers are, but it's a big improvement than what I experienced on Vrook Lamar.
  24. I love Tatooine and Nar Shaddaa, equally. Voss is turning out to be very nice, too, especially with the Fall-like colors. Alderaan is my favorite place for the background music, though.
