  1. since WoW endgame boiled down to just 1-2 raids every week and the same 3 dungeons every day for months between patches. since people on my supposedly-heavily-populated server had to wait over 3 hours every day for a Dragon Soul group to form last month. since they announced Kung Fu Pandaria. since someone else came up with an MMO of QUALITY instead of incoherent mixed bag of easily-accessible mediocrity. since BioWare made an MMO that can be enjoyed as a game in its own right, instead of as a substitute for having a real world social life. since Blizzard resorted to jokes like the "Annual Pass" to keep from losing cash to SWTOR, regardless of whether people continue to log on WoW or not. since I cancelled my Annual Pass.
  2. Agreed. See sig. Only thing that I can see potentially killing SWTOR for ME, at least for a while, will be Diablo 3. but then D3 will kill anything.
  3. Isn't Kinrath the unofficial Brazilian server, the Warsong of TOR?
  4. Thanks for posting this. Looks like you're over 70C too, and considering a 2670 is a tad bit slower than the 2720 then I'm guessing those temps are the norm for laptops? Apparently more so if it's a Sandy Bridge using Switchable Graphics since some of the load will go through the CPU even if you're using the other on-board chip, or so I read (or it could just be the shared heat sink as others have said.) yep I'm using a cooling pad. Google says 50 idle to 85 on load should be normal for a 2720QM but it's still freaking me out since it's so close to the TJ max Guess I'll have to keep running CoreTemp with auto-sleep at 85C..
  5. On a laptop here with Radeon 6970 and running TOR maxed out (except for AA) in 1080p smooth as a shaved ewok's butt. but yeah, their engine could use some polishing for low to mid machines (and even some high-end configs) cause I was able to run WoW maxed out in 1080p on my older machine (a 5450) while TOR struggled to keep up 30 FPS at 720p with everything set to low
  6. Thanks, do that and let me know! I used Core Temp and played for about 30 minutes, with graphics maxed out (except AA) on the Windows' default "Balanced" power setting.
  7. heh did you mean to post that on the WoW forums? cause that's the same reasons I quit WoW for Agree with OP's points but they hardly kill the "fun" for me.
  8. I forgot to mention this's a mobile rig (I know I know, lol at laptops for gaming but it runs almost everything maxed out) that idles at 45C-50C in around 15C ambient. Come to think of it, this could be because of the whole "Switchable Graphics" thing where there's an extra low-power Intel GPU on the CPU die, and I'm guessing all video stuff goes through it anyway even when you're using the dedicated graphics.. :s CoreTemp showed a max of 81C while GPU-Z showed my Radeon 6970 maxing out at 66C..funny
  9. So I just got a new comp just for this, and while it runs awesome (and the game looks simply great on max in 1080) I noticed my CPU hitting 81C It's a 2670QM @2.2OGHz. Anyone with the same/similar CPU know if it's supposed to get this hot during gameplay? EDIT: It's a mobile CPU with Intel's "Switchable Graphics" deal paired with a Radeon 6970 (that runs cooler than the CPU even though I'm not using the Intel GPU!) Idles at a 50C average.
  10. Failtroll. This game plays basically like WoW except better in many aspects, and has had a more successful launch than WoW ever had. TOR is still going strong, and if WoW hasn't failed yet (despite being an inferior product) lol why would this? Next. Oh and 1/10
  11. OP is a failtroll - Notice how he mentions exactly WHAT bugs are causing his butthurt. Not.
  12. I see. Anyway, just logged on a US PVP a second ago after finishing setting up the new computer I just got for this game - looks GREAT maxed out in full HD - and it was crowded as ever.
  13. Go play StarCraft II or Street Fighter IV, then cry there after you get your butt handed to you in a bag. It's called Genres. Oh and 2/10
  14. Don't mind. Never felt the travel to be a chore or an issue. If it annoys you, press the auto-run key while you queue up your crew for crafting and missions or read the Codex ^^ Honestly it's a freakin' game not some job with a deadline.
  15. ↓ see sig on how (and why) to cancel the WoW Annual Pass.
  16. Same "issues" as WoW, without the instant teleportation shortcuts WoW has. I for one don't mind and haven't seen many in the game or outside this forum that do either.
  17. I wonder if future Legacy features will work across factions.. That should be good enough to what the OP is suggesting.
  18. Planet-wide chat is already getting spammed enough thank to a few bad apples on some servers, can you imagine the never-ending crap on a global channel?
  19. Twi'lek sith. lol. You're the slave race. You're not allowed to wear anything, let alone become sith.
  20. You don't even have to check the forums to see that, players complain all the time about WoW in the game itself on every server.
  21. Read my last post, there's nothing keeping TOR from having new standalone planets that behave as a sandbox environment in themselves, and it'll make perfect sense - whereas games like WoW have to trash everything they have and start all over to fix their problems of a lonely sparsely-populated world.
  22. World of Warcraft fails with the "open world" concept - loads of empty pointless terrain with no other players seen in chat the second you step out of cities. Sorry, running around all alone by myself on an endless XP hamster-wheel isn't my thing. I've ran into more player-characters in a week of SWTOR than I'd seen in an ENTIRE YEAR of playing WoW in it's "open world." Let me point out this is yet another in a long line Blizzard fails-fixed-fails: The Lonely World syndrome was so bad that they had to implement the Dungeon Finder tool and make it work across servers at that - leading some shills to believe that it was a great idea when it's just a kludge to cover up an underlying issue that never got fixed: Open-worlds work in proper sandbox games like Elder Scrolls or Fallout, not quest/XP-driven MMOs. That said, there's nothing stopping BioWare from introducing new planets later on that have a sandbox environment, while leaving the current worlds intact as-is, and I hope they do On the other hand, it's too late to fix for WoW - just expect more one-button solutions to instaport you to all party-based content... *lol*Raid Finder*lol* ..then throw you back out all alone where you were.
  23. Neither are you. All you ever do in here is moan about every single thing (check this guy's post history) without offering any reasons or alternatives that most fellow players can agree with you on.
