  1. Couldn't agree more with the OP. I've played mmo's since UO several years ago, and burnt out i am by todays games, I've already cancelled my sub for ToR, 12 days left and just don't feel the need to log in for anything, my lvl 50 marauder, or other toons i made and pvped with etc. It's just the same old tosh churned out. Sandbox is great, and while a little driven story content is great, giving the power to players to create their own communities in game is priceless, I read your post and it makes me a little sad inside to wonder if such a game will ever come about again like SWG did at the start, PRE-CU it was the best, imo not even wow came close to enjoyment factor. Sadly ToR won't either.
  2. Think you missed the point, I'm not really interested in having the best gear, but it seems like wow, this game is aimed towards making people want that, carrot on a stick, most flashpoints and operations are set to come this week, in a bid to limit the amount of people leaving the game, they might make it good for those who want to raid etc. I'm certainly not against raiding btw, I used todo it all the time in wow, for years, but it sucked up a lot of time todo so, and life goes on and it's not that I don't have the time todo it again, just would rather not.
  3. Well whoever it is, there are other posts about server populations etc too. Anyway I remember last week when I hit 50, a player was on the imp fleet, going on about the game has nothing todo, I didn't believe him, nor did anyone else, needless to say he isn't around anymore, must have left. I don't want to just give up on the game, so am looking for something else within it other than grinding instances for gear. I have tried several alts, a few up towards level 20, and tried repubic alts too just to see something else than the same planets/quests, but quickly lost the desire to play those due to knowing my time spent on my main is wasted if i can't do something more with it. It just feels such a waste and shame.
  4. Well it's coming to the end of the free month, and yes I see a lot of people already cancelled or complaining in some form over the last few weeks, differernt reasons for everyone. Now since playing early access, I haven't been subject to the bugs that others have, it's fair to say I've had a pretty good painless experience while playing, my wife and I picked out server, and both went with SI and myself a SW, we leveled up quietly on a pvp server, died once when i ran into a republic base, but killed a lot of rep players, which felt odd, no one seemed to fight back. Anyway, as time went on the Voice overs got a little tedious, if it wasn't for my wife wanting to see what was going on, I would have hit spacebar from around level 30 onwards on all but the class story quests. It got really annoying to listen to some imperial npc tell me about someone gone missing, an item they lost, some driod army that needs stopping, on and on, on all planets it was the same. Planets was ok, I liked most of them, Taris was a bit of a pain I'll admit, felt like it was dragging on, a few other planets was like that tbh, I don't know if they needed more planets to break this up a bit, or just boost the XP gains in some way, needless to say we often skipped the heroic quests on most of the planets, was not willing to sit about for hours LFG to them, so we moved on, and it didn't matter that we did. we both hit level 50 within the first few weeks, it's not hard, we both have many years experience with mmo's and ofc wow, so we played this game with ease. But this is the crunch time, as soon as I hit 50, I felt it was finished, my class story had come to an end, it was done! Now in any mmo i've played, I never felt anything was done, it's not meant to feel that way. I lost interest in my char all of a sudden, and turned my attention to what others was doing at 50, and this is where I cried a little inside. At 50, you grind instances or dailys for the commendations, for gear, NO!!! for gear?? oh god no My char is decked out in the best I can get from vendors and commendations, even my pets have a good set of gear on the ones I used, it was very easy todo so, now I'm told to use this gear to go farm the instances, and the hard modes of those same instances, and to raid, all for......you guess it, gear. I thought this game wasn't going to be another wow clone, I waited years for this game, followed the friday updates etc, all to now realise it IS wow with lightsabres, it plays like wow, you grind like wow, it's all gear based. My gametime runs out, and tbh I already cancelled, sadly I don't want another wow, I'm sick of dailys, farming instances and gear, why did the fun have to stop once the class story ended. That's my thoughts, the game looks good, I love the iconic music, animations was nice, and class story was brilliant. Anyone else have any ideas what todo at 50 other than grind instances for gear?
  5. The first big hit is the aoe attack smash, to get those numbers im assuming much buffage and certainly looks like a rage tree talent called shockwave which has to be setup in order to buff said aoe attack. The white dmg attack is sabre throw, this is a execute style attack, only useable on targets below 20% HP, so expect it to hit hard. Very situational dmg there, love video editing
  6. Exactly my fear, I'm nearing lvl 50 myself, sure I can gear up my char and my companions, but making an alt is not something i want todo, because lets face it, the class story might well be done well, but the rest of the quests get very tedious quickly, and repeating those, listening to the voice over on missions to go kill or collect stuff is well, long winded and dull to me. I'm sure more endgame will come in time, as far as im aware no other mmo shipped with much endgame content anyway, but alts are a no go for me and im sure many others.
  7. Fully agree, mostly I'll vote for the top healer on my side, they don't get enough love as it is, and if you lose, its due to no healing going on, so lets be thankful to the healers and show it. Otherwise yeah pretty much agree, a few secs at the end where you can't leave the warzone anyway, time to pick who gets your vote.
  8. Hmm doesn't say final wave, is there a glimmer of hope for a bonus wave if server demand isnt to bad today?
  9. 4th wave sent, official on twitter. <- 7th Oct, not in yet
  10. My wife just got an email from Amazon.co.uk, letting her know her pre order has been dispatched and should arrive on 15th (estimated) So at least that's one bit of good news.
  11. 7th Oct for my wife and myself, its doubtful its happening today.
  12. Good point, and certainly this is the case in every US mmo I've played, it's taken time before the EU get's it own time schedual for patches and reboots etc, it will take much moaning from the EU player base for this to happen, at least from previous experience. We won't get any emails untill 2pm today, we will just have to deal with that, this is their baby and they are dealing with the rollout.
  13. So it would appear that Legions of Lettow (PVP EU) - Uk based guilds are moving there (unofficial uk server) Is our PvP server of choice for the english speaking speaking, or those wishing to keep it english speaking. Hopefully this will stay true, any news on PvE english though, just in case.....
  14. Excellent post, I to want a english speaking server with english speaking players, I've played other games where its been claimed by people from other countries in the EU, it's very annoying to keep telling them to take their chat to private or group etc, pisses me off when its in general/LFG channels. I really don't want to be on a server where there is so much of this going on, so anyone with a heads up for us English speaking players, please let us know. Or if there isn't one, maybe we could decide on one for PVP and PvE choices?
