Maybe someone could help me with a noob tech question please. I have an newer computer running windows 7, and wanted to try and use my old evga Geforce 8600 GT graphics card because it should be better then what is stock in the new computer. The card is directx 10 from my last computer that ran vista.
The funny thing is that the first time I hooked it up to the new comp, the graphics were ugly-but I was able to update the drivers and run the game. It ran smooth (really smooth), but I had a hard time turning the computer off, and when I tried to turn it back on, windows will not start up.
Should I expect this card and computer to work together, or do I need to break down and buy a new card? It would work nice if it ran like it did the first time, but I can't even turn the computer on with the card inserted.
Any help or info is appreciated, the nividea website wasn't much help. Thank you for your time.
