  1. This. Although I tend to do both, or lurk on forums whilst doing other non-computer related work. I do know that I'm a minority there.
  2. Did you know you can start your own channel? Roleplayers frequently use factionwide channels (e.g. EmpireRP / RepublicRP / LFRP). If so many people want cross planet communication, get a /real/ server community going by compounding them all into a snazzy little channel. It'll even feel better because you organised it yourself instead of waiting for Bioware to do it for you.
  3. I think the problem is that you need an incentive to group at all. I agree with the above poster. Just do it. Find a real life friend to level with. Find a likeminded social person in-game. Level together. Or just keep each other friended for heroicing with. I'm not sure what the obsession with "Bioware, make the game more social" is, when it's players that make a game social, not the bloody developers. They gave you parties, operation groups, heroic quests, guilds and even cross-faction /say. If it's social catalysts you're after, I'm afraid MMOs aren't well known for social catalysts, not since combatless classes in Galaxies and even then that didn't always work.
  4. I recommend contacting their subscription-related customer services, however bad/good they may be, to make sure you're not being mischarged. Either that or the relevant taxman. Best to find out why and make sure they're not pinching your money needlessly.
  5. Admirable and the purpose of the forums, I guess. Glad we agree! +1
  6. Sneaky dodge of the intentional personality smear, but I am playing it.
  7. ^ this ^ personally, this. I've enjoyed the story, the roleplay and to a certain extent I actually like the combat.
  8. So, to clarify, the only reason you're on the forums is to complain loudly about a game you're no longer playing? And I thought I had spare time...
  9. Act I: Interlude 2: Question and Answer >> Interview Record: Na’sira Lybot – 1 (ref. NSL-K31-001) – Imperial Intelligence archives subsection Korriban Sith Academy. >> Interview Commences: 06:00am Galactic Standard Time > Lawson Presiding Subject Na’sira opens interview with beaming smile. Lawson notes Sith cheerfulness down for Intelligence records. Click 'Show' to examine interview record. -- >> Interview Concludes: 06:15am Galactic Standard Time > Post-Script: Na’sira was pleasant to interview, being both receptive and co-operative. Lawson notes the suggestion “Hybridised Cloaking” for the technique’s name. Subject requested that the following text be posted with this report: > Hi mom! Lawson notes sense of humour in Sith for Intelligence records. -- { { Thanks for the extra feedback Wynternight & almostinsane. I'm not sure when Act II is coming... But soon, and I'm pretty sure this is the last planned interlude for Act I.}}
  10. I... Suppose? I mean, I'm not sure if there's much point to saying "It's worth 15$" when that's not what we pay and everything else is a matter of opinion. As are mine, especially since I've put them in dollars and I pay in pounds <cough>. I suppose there's something to it customer perspective, but I'm not sure if it's worth picking apart when behind the scenes that money's going to many places that aren't content/service. Hee. Karma for Origin.
  11. Balanced somewhat by races being available to more classes Republic-side because of actual in-game canon racism Empire-side.
  12. I'm here, not there. I guess TOR did something right. Case closed. If this mattered much you probably wouldn't be on this forum anyway.
  13. Don't really see your point. Even if it is only worth $15, bear in mind that most games ever would probably still draw even with development costs if they sold hard copies for $15. Why do they sell for $30/45? To make an extra $15/30. Draw even with costs... And then make profit. That's called business. I suspect you will also be exaggerating the issue, as there will be more relevant costs that we haven't thought of or that have been overlooked. Believe me when I say the difference will be made up by a requirement in business to make profit. Yes, that's a requirement. Businesses have to make profit in order to satisfy shareholder agreements and to make sure they don't revolt. Businesses like EA and Activision are the type to sieze every opportunity to scrape an extra cent. And clearly, it worked. Subscriptions are the same, except they cost less than the game itself because upkeep costs less per month than development did. If you're under the illusion that you pay directly and only for content & server upkeep with your subscriptions - that's dead wrong. There's a reason these companies make multimillion/billion profits, you know.
  14. ATTEMPT and PROBABLY FAIL to flip over the COUNTER that the BARTENDER is standing at.
  15. ... Did I remember to say that the stuff you'd done already was fantastic? Very good stuff. I look forward to seeing how my request pans out, and yes, I will be patient - the list on the front page is fairly sizable. Moreso once updated. Thanks in advance, though!
  16. Encountering this: http://i.imgur.com/dDxcy.jpg It made my day on both a frightening and hilarious level. It even left his facial hair behind.
  17. Act I: Interlude 1: A Holo to his Lordship >> To: os17_avartine@01k.h >> Subject: A Request My Lord, I would like to request that I be permitted to inform his lordship in the Inquisition of Na'sira's progress on Korriban's behalf, for reasons of personal pride in her development. As her overseer, it falls to you to grant me this privilege should you wish. For the Emperor! Corsula -- >> To: corsula_404@01k.h >> Subject: Re: A Request corsula, permission granted. for the emperor! -- >> To: Lord Taeghen (address witheld) >> Subject: Progress Report My Lord, It is my honour and privilege to inform you that the acolyte you sent to Korriban to complete her training has categorically succeeded and impressed her overseers in the process. Na'sira Lybot is currently being correctly instated as an Imperial citizen and her archaic slave status revoked. She has been restricted to Korriban while this process is being completed and is advised to seek out a Master (or await one finding her) for the time being, as well as to continue her studies beyond what the Academy demands she learn. For the Emperor! Corsula -- { { The last message is actually one I sent in-game. The wording was different but I forgot to note it down. Ahem. @01k.h is an H-Mail suffix I use for characters based off Korriban. Feel free to use it if you fancy =p } }
  18. People come to the general discussion forum to complain or comment on complaints. Those who have no complaints don't bother. Why would they?
  19. All right, excellent! Do you have any preferences for details? I mean, do you want a couple of reference pictures and a name, or a full profile / set of screens?
  20. Pardon me if I missed it, but do you take requests on your DA page, or on the forums here?
  21. http://i.imgur.com/H3ao0.jpg Of all the bugs I've encountered, this was the most hilarious. I like his hat. Please don't fix, Bioware.
  22. Flirt with the contact like you're a smuggler on heat.
  23. Not quite a Sith Lord... Well, yet, anyway. She does not have a romantic interest. I may post it on the ff site if only to make sure it isn't plagiarised, however unlikely it may be. Hope everyone who's read it has enjoyed Second Chances so far. Stay tuned, and feel free to leave feedback in the interim before I get started on Act II.
