Yes, let´s hope for some kinda enforcement... English servers should be the most populated, as most of central and northern Europe should have this as 2nd nature by now, through culture and education. Eastern Europe is sort of different in this context, as they traditionally have had german as their 2nd language in school. Germans and french get their own language servers, here´s hoping I don´t join an english server invaded by rude russians, pushing the rest out : / PS. Is it me, or are russians in general more rude than ur avg MMO-er? Have yet to meet a russian that is even close to borderline friendly... Well...they have all learned the F-word, apparently

Yes and no Yes, coz at the time of writing I see almost 4k posts in this thread, pretty much every other thread I´ve looked into has been closed and reposted at 1000 replies...(correct me if I´m wrong). No, coz this is pretty much the only safe place for ppl not wanting to succumb to QQ-ing the QQ-ers, like "QQ begets QQ", u know, in a seemingly endless spiral of QQ... +1 There are, as you mentioned even more good reasons to prefer "late" EGA: 1. More people in-game with more playtime than you means it´s easier to get advice, directions, groups and whatnot. The first wave on the 13th probably had the most barren and lifeless experience of us all, we will get the full-on and populated experience, is my guess. In the long run, that one-time only experience to max lvl will stick, so it matters! 2. Mostly fanbois ordered the 21st of July. They didn´t know what they were buying, as they had no idea how the final product would turn out, even though BWs stellar "KOTOR" was a good reason to buy it on blind faith for the "true believers". In a purely economic sense, only idiots pay for something without knowing what they get (I´m not saying any1 are idiots). The threads pertaining to EGA become gradually more relaxed approaching December (check threads for each month), and the "Decemberists" (which I am) is about to turn into a very friendly, cross-server, cross-region guild undertaking - simply because people enjoyed each others company and insights and wisecracking. What I´m trying to say, the community of procrastinators entering EGA late might be more mature and friendly than ur average dec. 13th. fanboi... 3. BW dev team is working around the clock to improve every litte nook and cranny of the game as we speak, entering late should mean entering a more complete and bug-free and stable gaming environment. and more, I´m sure...

OP is way off - we will all know for sure the 20th... 1. The game IS launched, as clearly stated by ms. Green, its the first headline you will see when coming to the swtor homepage, learn to read folks 2. From all accounts, as far as I can tell, THIS IS THE SMOOTHEST MMORPG LAUNCH TO DATE. So far only ONE server has been down at all since the 13th, a french, European pvp server, and it was down for like 15 mins or so yesterday. In-game reports tell us about zero lag, zero queues, zero downtime (except the server mentioned). 3. No MMORPG has been even remotely close to this amount of players on the first week within release, we are talking 3-4 million probably, maybe more. So the SCALE of this endeavour is terra incognita - it has never been done before. But, as I said to begin with, we will know for sure come the 20th., if the servers start crashing/ bugging out and what have you, the community will go mad, and BW will have serious problems defending the EGA and staggering of players. Personally I doubt we will see many crashes, though queues will proliferate (as we have been warned of) come retail release. And no, I´m not in-game yet, dec. 2nd. pre-order, and happy with it. Please remember it is about the gaming experience, not whether you or I or anybody else get in at what time for whatever reason, it´s all about how much fun we can have in game, gonna be a blast I´m sure

Thanks OP! This report and others are actually a good reason to prefer joining game "late" in the EGA! (Dec. 2nd redeemer, so saturday for me maybe). Don´t know about others, but the first character I play usually ends up being my main, planned or not Tried 4 classes in beta, and loved them all, 2 each faction. I see this as another good reason to roll Republic, guess JK Guardian tank it is... (no pvp wait-time, more tight-knit community on faction, kids will leave side/ server and more, but Im "guesstimating").

To OP, another con: The servers will get stress tested come the 20th, is my guess. Ofc, only BW/ EA have the numbers so I dont really know how many over-the-counter sales they expect to have that day, but quite a few no? In other words, no matter how they stagger admittance to the game and stabilize servers in the 6 days ahead, on the 20th. we will see just how good this method really is. From the persepctive of EA/ BW, wouldn´t it be better to have server crashes, lag issues etc. during EGA, where only parts of the playerbase would experience them, rather than risk the entire playerbase suffer from the 20th. onwards? Kinda hoping I´m wrong, and that the stagger-thingy works out even for the retail release.

Not a fanboy that sees "Bioware" + "Star Wars" in a MMORPG package as a guaranteed success, but I´ve been looking into this game from time to time over the past year, and nothing really convinced me either way... Untill I tried the open beta... P.S. Did love KOTOR to death, tho an 8 year old accomplishment is hardly any proof of future quality. The beta was stellar tho!

To OP: Yes and no. We are kinda kept in the dark here, so I´m just guessing like the rest of you, but in general I see two obvious outcomes on the 20th: 1. With 1,5-2 million players dispersed on servers during EGA (wild guess), and another 1 million+ (more wild guessing) come the 20th, server stability should hold up if the beta stress test is anything to go by. The reason I think this could go well is the EGA and tweaking that the next 6 days will provide before the invasion on the 20th, and the 24th/ 25th respectively, as the x-mas presents are opened. If all servers aren´t already full on the 20th, the playerbase would hopefully disperse evenly on the servers available without too many crash/ lag issues. 2. Same premise/numbers as above, but some unforeseen bug et.al. that crashes servers due to sudden overload. In the end, we really won´t know till the 20th, but I DO expect an increase in lag and general issues come official launch the 20th, as this IS the floodgate BW/ EA are preparing for, after all. (Well, I´m guessing again, really). Here´s hoping it all turns out well, reports so far from in-game look very promising idd

First off, BW has an amazing game on their hands! I only played the open beta, and from what i saw the content and execution is top notch, this game has all the bells and whistles, and then some, to cater to a huge playerbase for a long, long time to come. Kudos to Bioware for delivering this stellar gaming experience, granted, I know nothing of endgame at this point. The problem atm is the EGA, and more specifically all the threads popping up on the forum about ppl not being able to join etc. etc. The general feeling seems to be one of "why not me? /they promised this or that/ BW sucks" and so on. I don´t agree, really, except for one thing; The not knowing. Anyone who has been in love know what I´m talking about - not knowing how you stand with your loved one is worse than getting rejected. Then, at least, you know you have to straigthen up and maybe do that silly serenade outside her bedroom window after all I think BW/ EA could have done a better and more transparent job in this regard, as the fanbase has been following this game for years, and cutting the community off with "you will know when you will know"-messages really isn´t that helpful. If anything, ppl seem to rage even more coz of this. That being said - NONE of us are entitled to anything but access on the 20th. Anything before that is a free (!) bonus, which we DO NOT have to pay for. Anyone paying extra money to get EGA are being scammed by third party as far as I can tell. At this point EGA seems to run smoothly, reports indicate little or no lag, no server congestion, no queues, and you know what guys, this is what BW is trying to give to us ALL! That´s why staggering EGA in all likelihood is the best way to go, as everyone accessing the game for the first time since it went live have a good experience. And that´s what we want, is it not? From all the countless threads containing hate and bile it seems the Empire and dark side will get most of the players, I´m sure as hell rolling Republic! Peace and love, guys!
