  1. It's not Bioware's fault -- as I posted directly above yours, the rigid form of the Code is to create dramatic conflict, and that allows for better stories. There are a few occasions in the Class Storylines where your relationship with your Romance Interest is tested to dramatic effect - for the Knight, or, for the Consular, when There doesn't seem to be any equivalent in the Smuggler story (possibly because 2 RI's for the male Smuggler make such a thing tricky), and the Trooper version, following
  2. So now you've gone from one in "500 YEARS" to about once every other fight. Is it time for you to "stop lieing", to yourself as well as everyone else? PS: "Exception that proves the rule" doesn't mean what you seem to think it means.
  3. I agree with the OP. All it needs is a filter option to say, "don't show other people's debuffs on my target". (Other filters to suppress things like class buffs on yourself would also help -- and the class buffs you can apply to yourself should NEVER fall off, anyway).
  4. If you are a healer, you also need to make sure that no-one in your group or operation is PVP flagged either -- otherwise, the moment you heal THEM, you're flagged too. So you have a choice, do your job and get flagged (and possibly ganked), or watch the group/operation wipe because you don't want to get flagged. That doesn't constitute thriving, to me. (Nor does changing instance when the boss you want to fight is actually in the current instance). On PVE servers, it should require actively turning on the PVP flag in order to engage in PVP -- and death should remove the flag. To avoid unflagged healers continuing to heal people engaged in PVP, buffs/heals from unflagged people should not land on flagged friendlies, just as damage from unflagged people should not land on flagged enemies.
  5. Indeed. If I didn't win the Greed roll, I usually ask whether I can buy the item from the winner -- most people are happy to take something close to the vendor price for it.
  6. Even if your numbers are correct, such a damage spike still would not have killed an equivalent-geared Vanguard or Guardian. Would you care to calculate what their odds of getting hit by such a killing spike, and compare?
  7. I wonder who Tanno had to threaten to get this...
  8. Sounds like a way to keep F2P people busy over the summer season I actually just upgraded my daughter's account to Subscriber, and bought RotHC on that account, just for that.
  9. Min-maxed Conqueror is about 10% better than baseline Partisan (assuming you pick the pieces that have power and not worthless stats), IIRC -- please correct me there if I'm wrong. So how big a boost are you asking for?
  10. Proper, voiced, actual CLASS stories. Not just a handful of VO lines from your companions playing at set locations, and silence during the WORLD story pretending to be Chapter 4.
  11. I don't know about 72 gear, but full 69 gear, which is what most PVE'ers will have (since in general 72's are from Hard Mode operations or from grinding Ultimate commendations for quite a while) seems to give you an expertise of about 1450, vs 2018 for a full set of Conqueror OR Partisan -- which suggests full 72's will be somewhere south of 1300. Since Expertise's effects now scale linearly, that is a pretty big difference. I must say, I'm rather enjoying the QQ of the PVP'ers on PVE servers -- I think the phrase "suck it up" was thrown around a lot by them the last time the Gree event came around and Bolster was disabled.
  12. ^This. (Champions in PVE area are only Elites in PVP area, and Elites in PVE area are just Strong). While it helped people with poor PVE gear to complete some of those missions, it's clear in hindsight that this is intentionally so that PVP-geared players can have a challenge that matches the stats of their gear. So it seems the OP's objections have already been adequately answered by the developers.... (If you're referring to the Xenoanalyst and World Boss operations, well, that's comparable to the Orb stuff in the PVE area -- if you're a hardcore PVP'er, no-one is making you do PVE operations. )
  13. While I can't speak for Beta, it certainly wasn't available at launch, or even early access which in my case was 5 days before the official launch. I do however support AC changing with significant cartel coin costs and a cooldown of at least 30 days, so that it isn't treated trivially.
  14. Tatooine, Hoth and Ilum all should have a stacking debuff that accumulates gradually the longer you're out in the wilderness... not damage like Darvannis, but reducing abilities the longer you're out in the heat/cold, and which is removed by spending a little time in a rest area.
  15. Quote the patch note or it's just you saying it (repeatedly).
  16. I would suggest sending the information directly to one of the forum reps here to be passed on to Customer Support, if it goes beyond mere namecalling.
  17. Even if you're right about the lockout, being put at the back of a 1-2 hour long queue solely because the other people are being morons is entirely unacceptable. Or, do you really not understand that you've just moved someone from the front of the queue to the very back?
  18. It could still end with the end of the conversation with the actual people -- there's no need to force it to include a "conversation" with the navigation console. In summary, I heartily agree with your sentiments.
  19. I healed this with my Scoundrel healer as his second-ever 55 HM -- Guardian tank, but he was also taking a tonne of damage, and I too could not keep him and everyone else up trying to out-range the AE. In the end, we all stacked up, and I was able to use Kolto Cloud on cooldown and it was easy. The problem might have been the tank. It's always worth checking that they are in the Tank Stance and actually have a shield generator equipped -- my main role is Tanking but I commit those newbie mistakes occasionally even now.
  20. Yeah, I saw that in the preview window and wondered -- I think it's because Scourge has some "custom" chest textures (Sith spine ridges etc) that don't match correctly with this top's "transparent" areas.
  21. My shadow co-tank saw a miss last night from co-tank on HM TfB on a Champion mob, I believe -- I will ask if he can send me his logfile. Most Champions have Boss Immunity so we never expect them to move anyway, but the ones that ARE moveable have 10% defense so with the 4% accuracy we get from Legacy and tanking tree we still have a 6% chance to outright miss. The only times I'd try to move a controllable Champion are when I want it yanked out of a pack so we can do AoE, which isn't something I ever do outside of Operations. Regardless, don't stack Accuracy as a tank. The mitigation you can get in the same slots is far better for the job.
  22. In the Jedi Knight story, it's definitely rather unfair on the female Knight For the male Consular, it is also possible to complete the romance without any dark side at all. I don't (yet) have a female Consular, so I don't know how the story with Iresso works out. Ultimately, however, the meta-reason for the Jedi Code IS to create conflict -- a more relaxed code that was understanding of real human emotion, and managing them, rather than utterly repressing them, doesn't have the same dramatic possibilities. The "X, yet Y" version of the code was rewritten by Lucas to the far more rigid "There is no X, there is Y" version for this reason.
  23. No. They just require level 10 and Champion reputation with the Gree, and along with the other Gree gear, is the cheapest Bind-on-Legacy gear around. http://swtor.askmrrobot.com/gear/44699/white-scalene-boots
  24. And thanks to you and all the contributors thus far, I'm really tempted to spend some time practicing a Balance rotation now
