  1. Yeah.... maybe you cant compare the two games graphically either... considering CoH is more than 7 years old. Man that game was awesome though. havn't played it in years. Thinking about that game and how old it is, but at the same time it was much more cutting edge than SWTOR is with its cut scenes gamble. I mean... flying! cant even swim in SWTOR lol. customization. epic battles. fun stuff. game companies should just talk to me when they want to develop a game. I'll guide them in the right direction... free even. Lol. Uh... yah... yer topic.. Um. carry on.
  2. I have no idea. But i did want to ask you why you used elara as dps? clearly there are better dps options (elara is awesome healer btw). just a rp thing or do you have some insider scoop? Not that I use companions anymore but it might be helpful for someone else..

  4. I think it is your logic that is flawed. A) I don't want to reroll my character. it is my 15 bucks a month. and it was my 15 bucks a month I payed to develop my character. Why should i have to start over from zero and level up a new character on another server that maintained its health. B) Especially if my only alternative is FATMAN which is a noob gank fest. So not only do I have to reroll my character but I now have to subject myself to a server full of twits with low self esteem that get enjoyment out of teabagging lowbies in a pve environment? No thanks. By the way, it isn't my fault or anyone elses fault that doesn't WANT to reroll on a server that has more than 12 people in fleet. It is bioware's fault for 1) opening too many servers and artificially forcing those players to play on lower population servers with login queues. 2) not allowing for people to transfer servers. Sorry, but I'm not going to replay the same content over the course of the next couple/few months (paying 45 bucks too) just to get to the same point my character is at now. Why on Earth would I or anyone else do that when they can just play another game. it would be like watching 99% of a bad movie and then watching the whole thing over again just to read the credits.
  5. Its ok. Cool the first time through. Now I mash the spacebar and get annoyed at people that do not mash the spacebar None of which affects gameplay. those are cool things for a single player game(like mass effect), but for a mmo it is just filler. pretty standard mmo fare. nothing great. and super easy i might add I'm a little bewildered by this one. I think swtor is not group friendly at all. 99% of the content is for solo play... or more accurately it is easily completed solo. and most groups are 5 mins to complete a daily or 2+/4+. LFG tools are lacking and none of the group content 1-49 is going to give you an advantage starting to feel like i'm getting trolled. subjective. I don't think graphics are bad in swtor but they don't make me pee my pants either. so on fatman you have a populated server? cool. vast majority of the other servers are dead. Some being so dead I'd bet there are a handful of servers that have single digit pops on fleet right now. I'd say the community in swtor is and always was lacking. **** this was a wall of text. anyway, thanks for your opinion. orignially planned to comment point by point but my ADD is kicking in. The rest of your post from what i can tell was conjecture and premonitions about the success or failure of other/future mmo's. And I just don't see how the failure or lack of fun in another mmo means that swtor is good.
  6. I don't think bioware knows. I've seen too many weird things with resolve to be convinced it is working as intended. full whitle resolve and still getting stunned etc. Resolve was just a bad idea. Especially how most CC effects do not affect resolve. it is just a craps shot.

  8. Nothing to offer? So... what have you offered? it is called voicing concerns... well, that is what it used to be. Then it turned in to complaining as we all watched this game get gutted from its early potential to what it is now. But, you can continue to offer us your umm... sorry, what exactly is it you are offering again?
  9. I don't even know off hand what side is grass and which is snow. seriously... if you can't figure out your east and west. Or North and East for that one section of voidstar, then you need to go back to 3rd grade. i always use east/west. There is no confusion. especially when some people say right or left, regarding minimap and others use left and right from their point of view. There is only one east and west. learn it.
  10. i've already explained that. and for commandos. 5 dots = 20 ammo. and since we only get 12.. uh, there is a serious math problem. and if those 5 peole dont have atleast ONE person that can cleasne well, their group make up sucks. just like the disadvantage a wz op would have with no healer. Yah, some have an AE dot but my god why are you all within 5 meters of eachother? there are so many ways to counter dots (preventative and after the fact) that it just bewilders me how bad the swtor player base really is.
  11. even more annoying is being snared by a dead snarer and not being able to run over to help my team. nerf snares too? I mean, lets not stop nerfing with just one ability. whats worse is i can use my cc break but by the time i get to the door full of people defending their capper I can be cc without NO way to break it. atleast with a dot you or someone can remove it without a 2 min cooldown.
  12. weird. my team seems to always (75%?) make it to the datacron. or atleast the last door. Even my pug groups do it. But blaming it on dots? i find that well placed snares with diversion are the best way to cap a door. and while your freshly cleansed (if necessary) capper is doing his 8 second cap. the rest of the team CC's (flash bang at the medspawn is handy) and KB's on the folks that jump down usually buy us enough time to cap. meanwhile our tank(s) will go spam snare and/or stuns on anyone at the other door trying to run over to help. amazing how a little teamwork goes a long way.
  13. I'm not the one that cant figure out how to combat a DOT. a) kill commando dot spammer. (easy kill) b) cleanse or god forbid have a teammate cleanse. Sounds like you just want to be able to do it all without thinking. By the way. I have no problem capping doors in VS and turrets in CW. but atleast bioware is bringing the competition down to your level.
  14. LOL. yah, i rolled assault commando cause I want to do it all? You've never even played the class and have NO idea what you are talking about. and I'm sure you'd be butthurt too if a change to the game dramatically changed the way your class works. THats ok. I'll be running gunnery grav spam after this change and then I can listen to you and others like you complain about how i can nuke you down in mere seconds. There were other ways to accomplish a change without totally gimping an AC. Like maybe your CC breaker can also cleanse you. there. problem solved.
  15. Yep, i cant wait for the change actually. I don't play a gunnery spec just cause i don't want to be THAT guy. but now i'll be spamming grav rounds and burning through people in 3x1.35 seconds +2 instant casts. and with no assault troopers running around our only dps option will be gunnery. So.. get ready for spam folks.
  16. Yah, what class do you play? I'm sure you have stuff you can do (ie skills) that make your class hard to deal with in some fashion. Trust it, it doesn't have anything do with your awesome skillz (ie how much ADD you have). Some classes like mine, rely heavily on dots. I'm sorry bioware made my AC so hard for YOU to deal with. But others, especially assassins and marauders give me fits. Go roll an assault commando and dont use your dots. Tell me how long you hold the door.
  17. of course i went overboard. I'm simply pointing out how ridiculous it is that people think DoT's are OP. They CAN be countered. A snare, equally as potent as a DoT, can be removed using your oh so valuable cc breaker. but the snare will just be reapplied easily. I cant even use field aid on a snare. Nothing breaks it but cc breaker and that is 2 min cooldown and easily reapplied. A better solution for CC breaker should give you a 5 second immunity to CC
  18. I agree. but you do have a lot of survivability. My point is there is no reason to even play an assault commando without dots helping your team. a) they dont do a whole lot of damage b) they can be cleaned. c) other classes have higher dps and more utility. What do assault commandos bring to the table? Not survivability that is for sure. No utility spell other than field aid(cleanse) which is now pretty much a useless 2 ammo skill.

  21. tell me how 1 assault commando will defend a node vs. 3 people like a healer can. or a tank. pls do tell. I'm not talking about winning the encounter. I'm talking about jsut delaying till your team answers your call for help

  23. I keep saying this but I'm waiting for someone to post a vid of a single dot spammer winning the game. I'm sure you can adapt. and a dot spammer is doing nothing but gimping himself, especially an assault commando that has to spend 1/3 of his resources to cast ONE DOT. Maybe you've been in some warzones with 5 assault commandos and I can see how dots would be a problem. just like 5 marauders is a frightening sight for me. But somehow, even with my uber tabbing dot rambo skills people still seem to be able to plant bombs on doors. I don't know. maybe people on my server are better than people on your server. by the way, i never said it was the end of pvp. and my complaint is mostly from an assault commandos point of view. Commandos are easy to kill if they arent heal spec. We get no interrupts, no way to escape. No speed burst. and some very weak and long cooldown CC skills. No vanish in mid fight. No real damage mitigation. (armor means nothing in this game). Sometimes the assault commandos only viablity in wz is to dot to buy your team time. A stealth class can vanish and interrupt a cap to buy his team some extra time. a tank can take more of beating and guard a door for a little longer (not to mention insane amount of dps on a stationary target trying to cap). A healer can heal and stay alive longer to guard a door till help comes. And pure dps classes can handle themselves in a shootout (especially since they often get things like vanish and interrupts) Why would i play an assault commando for dps? when i can just play a gunslinger for much higher dps. or a scoundrel. or a sage. Or a dps guardian. All of which will outburst a commando. So what utility does the assault commando bring to the table?
  24. guardian is alot harder to kill than an assault commando. You get all that nice armor and the multiple skills that increase dmg mitigation. Not to mention all those interrupts. You cant do it all but you sure can do a lot. I tell you what, i'm ok with overcoming your shortcomings by gimping my class. But can we put the CC breaker on a 5s cooldown while we are at it?
  25. Odd, my class cant heal through dps. It does have a CC breaker though. And my class cant snare. and my class cant stun lock. Yah, I'll be your class has something mine cant do too. duh! great argument, next!
