I abhor PVP too and refuse to do it for the KOTFE companions (Pierce/M1-4X). But for this, I plan to make a Sorc since this is a class I'm comfortable with, buy a Valor boost or two (I have no idea the rate at which one gains Valor but I want to get 5 the absolute quickest way possible) and probably PVP in a bracket under 65 (seems to make sense). If I don't aim for Eternal level, I will ignore this event completely and probably unsub. So that's my plan. Hope Valor 5 rolls around quickly.

I don't necessarily agree with the proposal (though I don't disagree too vehemently) but I absolutely believe they need to find a way to involve existing characters in this event.

Seriously!? Imagine the forums/social media if that was the case. The current outrage would be drop in the ocean compared with what that would unleash. What they should do is add a repeatable "level" for veteran players. Something similar to a conquest would work really well IMO (and there have been several suggestions made by others that would be workable). Have a force-bound pack or two (or more) as a reward and give a varied array of objectives that the player can choose from—complete missions / heroics / story / FPs / OPs / GSF / PVP etc etc to earn a certain amount of packs. A feature that can be completed by any character on the account, old or new, no matter the character level or gear level. (Though, this would only really work well if they changed the reward packs to BoA or BoL). They wouldn't have to release it on the 28th, just add it in a week or two. It would multiply my enthusiasm for this event by... I can't event put a number of it. It would check a lot of boxes on the things that are frustrating me, and others, about this event.

I think a large part of the dissatisfaction for a lot of people is that they imagined, or hoped for, something... different to what we got...

I have no issue with the rewards from the packs being BoA and not account-unlockable. Anything is better than BoP packs with BoP items

So I'm up to date on this thread now and I can see when reading the Dark vs. Light Event and Rewards Blog that I made some pretty stupid assumptions. Eric, can you please clarify: Does each pack contain an armour set (upper, lower and supplementary) or only one of the separate boxes? A single upper, lower or supplementary box isn't going to help anyone by granting them a few pieces of a highly sought after set, especially when they can't send it to another character. The question from my previous post about the weapon tunings still remains unanswered as well. Are the weapon tunings from the packs definitely unlockable in Collections, as clearly suggested in the rewards blog, despite the current tunings not appearing in Collections? I'd also like to see a complete list of the "Best of" items contained in these packs. The event is sounding less and less like something I will participate in.

I'm slowly reading through this thread but I've only scratched the surface at this point. Just wanted to mention a couple of things. Overall, I like the idea of the event & I can see what you're trying to do. I personally will be ignoring the Legendary level due to the objectives including operation bosses and less so, the world bosses. The GSF/PVP ones aren't ideal for me personally either but if I thought I had a chance at every single other one of the objectives, I'd probably suck it up and do 5 of each. Regardless, my questions are these: Can you get the "winning" DS/LS companion on pre-existing characters and if so, how? It states in the rewards blog that there are two new weapon tunings in the event packs. It also states that the items in the packs are bind on pickup but do unlock in Collections. Does this apply to the weapon tunings because I understand weapon tunings are NOT in Collections? Regarding the first question, I think this is an interesting idea you should consider:

These suggestions have popped up now and then I always post to support them. I would pay a lot to unlock both a hide hood option and outfit designer weapon slot. No hide hood option for my Imperial toons especially is beyond frustrating. And since I'm lazy, I only use legacy weapons now. I don't care so much about appearance that I would swap mods into my preferred cosmetic weapons every time I use a character. There are heaps of weapons I would buy and use if the outfit designer had this feature—probably those super rare & expensive single-use not-unlockable-in-Collections weapon tunings as well.

The only black/black dye I have came from a cantina crate and was put on a legacy bound item so as not to "waste" it - funnily enough, I no longer actually even use that item. I'm fine finding alternatives due to the rarity/price of the black/black, white/white etc. They would have to be heavily discounted and probably unlockable in Collections for me to even bother with it. If they thought they could make more money by selling them more cheaply and/or regularly, they'd be doing it already. One can always hope though.

Signed. And so much this. Just finished the chapter on my BH. Aric's return was way better. And then there's Koth. No appearance whatsoever in this chapter? I actually kind of missed his ever-present complaints Seriously though, from a romance perspective, this is the least impressive romance imo. We barely get to talk to this guy and when we do he's snarky and whining. His letters make up for it a little but this romance just isn't believable for mine. BW, you can do much better. Other than that, good chapter, except...

As per the title, my suggestion is to have a sort function for the stronghold UI so one can arrange their strongholds in a preferred order. With the introduction of a 5th stronghold, my preferred stronghold now appears on the second page of the stronghold management window. Now obviously this is a minor thing that results in my having to press an extra button or two but I hope others would find value in this & it wouldn't be too difficult to implement.

I have one of each class (all female) that will stay faithful to their respective romances/partners. I also have a Koth romance and a Lana romance and four Theron romances. One of my warriors romanced Quinn first but will be dumping him for Theron. I have to see how BW handle it. I'm not sure it's possible for Quinn to be devastated enough to satisfy me but we'll see

While this is true under normal circumstances, courting gifts are currently broken. You may want to consider saving them up for when BW eventually fix this bug but there is no ETA.

There are interactions with the following "vanilla" companions: They have come back with various different levels of interaction but I won't give any further info since you asked for no spoilers.

I have at least one legacy MH and OH of each kind plus a ton of armour sets. I have no use for more legacy anything. Therefore from a personal perspective this type of reward wouldn't entice me to subscribe. However, the Gree event can be frustrating. Especially for casual/solo players so at the end of the day, if is helps others, I'm all for it.

I quite like Lana and I think her VA does a pretty great job. I must say that some of the PC VAs in KOTFE sound bored to me though. FemSmuggler VA was always one of my favourites from the 1-50 story but KOTFE is totally different, and not just for her.

The romances haven't really progressed since Chapter 9 so no, there hasn't been another chance to lock in one of the new romances. If I were to hazard a guess I would say there won't be another chance, but that's solely my opinion. You never know what they might do.

My experience is only one example of course, but I took my trooper through Chapter 11 during early access and the romance worked just fine. I did the previous 10 chapters during 4.1 and got the letter at the end of Chapter 2 as well. (I think it's Chapter 2, I can never remember). (edit: chapter 11 not 12)
