I recently rejoined this game a day or so before 1.3 came out after a absence due to real life without even realizing it, so 1.2 was completely new to me and I tried it out after getting back into it as a healer. First time I did this I had problems with it, though mostly it was because our guild tank was drunk and couldn't time his interrupts to save his life, but I still love the ****er because he made the agonizing pain of dying countless times funny.
Either way, after I understood the first boss and so did everyone else [and the tank wasn't drunk]. We tried a few tactics mostly failed until we finally got it down with two ranged DPS Mercs and a Jugg Tank. We mostly died when he hit that soft enrage at 20ish% where all of the lightning balls proc to max size, but once we figured that out with some good luck and a bit of understanding we finally downed him before moving on to the other two bosses and figuring it out after a few wipes as to be expected.
I have done this FP quite a few times now, because my word is it fun and challenging even when you are well geared. I've done a number of combinations, but one thing I can say as a healer is that having a melee DPS or two in the mix makes life easier. It reduces the chance of it focusing on ranged thus making it so I don't have to move as often and can continue to do my rotation that keep my force up instead of being forced to spike heal to get everyone back out of critical health and overuse consume nowadays when it does consumes health even with the Resurgence buff [i do hate Bioware for this, but that's just personal because it makes me q-q like a bish]. It is a interruption skill check for the most part. literary if he didn't have incin, this fight would be a joke.
It is not for everyone, but then again pre 1.2 hard modes and operations above story are not for the casual, hell I remember when I first hit fifty and I beat black talon back in January, it was a great moment, I finally conquered a challenge and I felt good. Now a days it isn't a challenge like it used to be, but I still respect that others may not think the same. I rose up and I challenged myself instead of asking for the reward without the strife. Columi gear was what the cool kids were wearing, now everyone has it and people scuff at you if you have it because it's so much easier to obtain.
Either way the point is the risk reward system. If you can't put in the time effort and decent skill to overcome it in the first place. Then who are you to complain that it should be put down to your level instead of used as another step to pass over for all that want to challenge themselves. It's only a test. Either you pass or you fail, but at least in this test you get an infinite amount of tries to get it right.
