You wouldn't even have to have it mean anything , no rewards etc. Guilds could run their own events .But it would make pilots better and give new players a chance to get decent before subjecting them to the crucible of GSF where most go in get it handed to them hard and never play it again . Come on guys , we could do it out side the republic fleet or any planet with a orbital station ,i.e. make the arenas small and add the entrance on said planets and stations much like flashpoints .

if your generating enough threat to pull the mobs off he tanks , AND those mobs are leaving the tanks and attacking you , AND the tanks can't get the mobs back , well , then you need to find better tanks Just sayin

Obviously the Patch on 1.3 created an exploit and they are bringing the servers down to fix it . That seems the only viable reason to run a patch like this so soon . wait for the patch notes to see what they did , then complain if it is trivial . I am not a fanboy there is a game coming out I will be all fanboy about and I am waiting for that but, I'll take a patch train on an expansion to ensure the bugs get picked up and rung out early ,I hate when games get major bugs that never get patched because they layer code on through several patches and expansions before thinking about fixing it and by then it's too late , it would unravel the game. Ofcourse if they patch it and the patch notes read " Elite marauder Headgear appeared dark gray instead of black " then be my guest , throw a fit .

They really do need an appearance tab that lets you lock in the gear you want as " Costume" gear and then use w/e as the actual gear . I,m sure it'll get added eventually .I too like the sleek no pointy things look better . but that would mean using lvl 20- gear as everything after that seems to just add bulk

WoW Happened to " real" gamers , you said it yourself the cause of the number of complaining posts isn't due to a lack of said " gamers" but do a an increase of WoW carebears now gaming . those real gamers are here ( for how long no one can say) but theres another 1.2 million carebears aswell . the math says those real gamers will send 1.2 million carebears to the forum to whine and complain ALOT . this was the death of SWG ( all those nerfs and changes to appease the carebears( and other games that make drastic changes so a Creature handler can go toe to toe with a commando or BountyHunter Like really if you want to PvP take a pvp class ffs ) and hope the " real gamers" stick around to actually playtest on the test server ( cause carebears will whine about that aswell) and make bug reports that are more then " Commando Killed me 1v1 !!! this shude nvar happen I R Dancer/Doctor" Anyways you see what i'm saying Gamers still play games but Carebears pay the bills

lol the old Maint, time Argument Now that you all know when Maint, is can we get over it ? I mean really , now you know so whats all the talk about ?As for Long times well I do agree there but I think the times more for them to test each server then the actual patch . If you notice you can logg in and patch almost instantly after the servers go down and that patch almost always is " The one" so I believe they go through and double check the servers and thats where the extended downtime comes in. I talked to a dev once who told me different servers running the same game sometimes get their own specific bugs do to isolated patches and or w/e . so each server needs to be checked when a patch is applied ( that dev was not for this game lol I don't want to put words into anyones mouth) afcourse that was a small game runing only 4 servers this is a large game running what 20 or 30 ? iono seems it'll take time Also I am west coaster and the servers go down in my prime time aswell but it's ok I have other things I can do . at least we get forwarned most of the time

Never Ever ever spend all your savings when a major patch is on the horizon Save everything til after that patch . I mean it's sad and I have seen several people say the same as you , but with new equipment and all coming why would you blow everything prepatch?
