I was planning my gear and noticed that according to torhead there is one single variation of aim heavy Hazmat earpieces in the game. I made a ticket about this and was told it is "working as intended". I couldn't find any other threads about this in the class subforums so as suggested by the CS agent , here is the thread:
According to torhead the following Hazmat earpieces are currently in the game:
Hazmat Boltblaster's MK-1 Device = Hazmat Annihilator's MK-4 Adaptor
+108 Aim
+93 Endurance
+60 Accuracy Rating
+76 Power
Hazmat Boltblaster's MK-2 Device
+89 Aim
+128 Endurance
+52 Power
+60 Surge Rating
Hazmat Boltblaster's MK-3 Device
+89 Aim
+128 Endurance
+60 Accuracy Rating
+52 Critical Rating
Hazmat Med-tech's MK-1 Relay
+89 Aim
+128 Endurance
+52 Critical Rating
+60 Alacrity Rating
Hazmat Med-tech's MK-2 Relay
+89 Aim
+128 Endurance
+52 Power
+60 Alacrity Rating
As you can clearly see Boltblaster's MK-1 Device and Annihilator's MK-4 Adaptor are the only aim-heavy ones. The aim heavy earpieces have a stat budget of 244 (337 endurance included) and all others a budget of 201 (329). As endurance is a stat that should never take the place of dps or healing increasing stats for all non-tank specs, Mercenary/Commando and Powertech/Vanguard dps and Mercenary/Commando healers are left with one option outside sticking to their Black Hole earpiece. As that one option has accuracy on it, Mercenary/Commando healers have no upgrade from their Black Hole earpieces, as the only spec in the game. While the situation isn't that bad for dps specs there is no aim-heavy Black Hole earpiece with accuracy and power. Currently earpieces are generally one of the last pieces acquired (at least until they become more commonly crafted) forcing dps Bounty Hunters/Troopers to either hold off upgrading some pieces until they get the earpiece or getting rather expensive placeholder 63's.
The problem isn't that big with healers missing out on a total budget of 14 and dps having to adjust their mods but every other class has more than one variant of main stat heavy Hazmat earpieces, leaving Bounty Hunters/Troopers in a disadvantage that is "working as intended". I wish to make the Bounty Hunter/Trooper community aware of this issue and hope to get a response from BioWare explaining this odd itemization. Since this is the suggestion thread I guess I'd suggest adding more Hazmat earpieces with 108 aim and different itemizations.
