  1. I had the same issue, and it just fixed itself on rebooting my machine. Not sure if you've tried that, but it worked for me.
  2. I had ordered new RAM (unrelated), and after installing it, upon re-boot, the download worked. No idea wtf was going on, but it is fixed for me now. Thank you for the suggestions!
  3. Tried changing to google's public dns, no luck. Since I'm not alone with this issue, I hope they release an official fix. Probably Tuesday will be a follow up patch for the frozen at launch screen issue, so maybe that will force the incomplete download to resolve too. Disappointing, but at this point I won't get the four day login reward, so I may as well wait it out. Thanks for the suggestions, appreciate your time!
  4. Appreciate the attempted assist. I have over 100gb free on the install drive, and even after disabling the firewall and anti-virus (it's just the built in widows stuff), no luck. Really don't want to have to re-install via steam, but I guess that is an option if all else fails. If I do have to re-install using steam, will my keybindings and stuff carry over?
  5. I do very much appreciate the head's up! Sadly, I have over 100gb on the install drive and even after de-activating all firewall and anti-virus settings (they're just the windows built in ones), no luck. I don't understand why they removed the repair option. Seems like a forced restart is a good feature to have.
  6. I am genuinely surprised by the visceral reaction to the GTN changes. I'm not saying they are good or bad (I can't get into the game, so I have no first hand knowledge), but my GTN experience is limited to buying and the very occasional FP/GSF deco sale. I do want to see how it works now, since it has seemed to really annoy some people.
  7. lol I have never heard it called that, but now I can't unsee it.
  8. I thanked you many times for the legwork. I appreciate your efforts. None have currently resolved the issue, but that's not on you. It is, though, why I've asked if you have any other leads. Though since you missed what the initial post was about, I suppose I should have accepted the need to be more explicit in my appreciation so that reading comprehension isn't a barrier to communication: THANK YOU SINCERELY FOR YOUR HELP THUS FAR. PLEASE IF YOU THINK OF ANYTHING ELSE, I WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATIVE OF ANY SUGGESTION! Really hoping I don't have to re-download the entire game again. Sadly, I do recall that was the answer once, several years ago. Since I still can't get in, I would have figured it wouldn't be relevant. But the thing is, I want your help in keeping this issue's profile up. So please, keep commenting!
  9. I mean, you have the power to walk away any time you want. I can't keep you here. But I can try to entice you to remain. I love that you want to argue about how you blundered around the thread. That's fantastic, it really is. I'm not trying to dissuade you at all. Keep returning to when you didn't know what you were talking about. And I'm not tweaking you up when I thank you either. I really appreciate your attention. I'm trying to hold it here! I mean, you've claimed to be out already, but you weren't accurate there either. But that's fine, nobody bats .1000!
  10. It's not bashing, it's a simple statement of fact. I can't help that you were wrong. I can't make you get past it either, but as I've said, there's no need to keep dwelling on it if you don't want to. Nobody's making you stay here. I've been very clear that I'm trying to keep you in the thread to either get help or keep it bumped. It's up to you whether you oblige or not. For what it's worth, I've appreciated your suggestions once you realized what our issue was!
  11. You did miss it, as you claimed Jackie's "recent posts" (your words) were about this issue. They are not. They're about people stuck at the loading screen. We're stuck at the launcher download. It's fine, you came in hot without clearly reading. It happens. Yeah, tried spamming the little button. This monkey solution is actually within even my meager tech talents, but sadly didn't fix it. That guide is pretty out of date. The little gear symbol to get the repair installation isn't even a part of my launcher (if someone else has it, would like to know), and none of the other clickable options on the launcher lead me to a repair choice. I know there used to be such a thing long ago, as I used it at one point, but it's gone. And of course the steam options aren't relevant. Since there are multiple users with this issue, it makes it less likely the issue is down to a specific feature setting (though it is possible we all have the same router or the same firewall). However, as the last several patches at least had no issues and I've changed nothing, again that makes it seem unlikely the issue is some setting of mine. Any other ideas I can try? Really want to see this GTN everyone is talking about!
  12. Some of these pet projects can even be pretty cool. Combat Styles is a neat feature. I'd have been thrilled if it were in the game at launch. But was it worth years of dev time that could have gone to bug fixes, balance passes, QoL improvements or new content? No. I doubt SWTOR's devs are much worse than other B-tier MMO game devs in a qualitative light. But they have had misaligned priorities for years, and it's gotten us to where we are today.
  13. This isn't sparring. There's nothing to spar about. This is keeping you here posting to bump the thread and to get your help. If not for me, for the others. To restate our issue, since you missed it originally: We are stuck at various download values on the SWTOR launcher. We cannot complete the patch download. There is no option to reset it. When closing the launcher and re-opening it, it immediately goes to the stuck value. I at least do not have bit raider. Any suggestions?
  14. You confused correcting with lashing out. I don't need to "get you," I already won when you tried to front and displayed a complete failure to appreciate our issue. That's over and done with. Now, I'm legitimately trying to get your help, either by leveraging your self-avowed dev skills, or by keeping this post at the top. Either is fine with me, and your help with one or both is great. I just want to get in and see this GTN people are talking about! Also, this is the last day I have to log in and still get four days in the week log in credit. I legit want a fix.
  15. Facts aren't flames. They're just facts. We stated an issue. You tried to roll in without even understanding what our issue was, and then proceeded to make several unfounded assumptions. But I will definitely accept any help you might have, so when you're done with the other issues you mentioned, I'd definitely love it if you took a look at what could be sticking our download (or how to force it to restart).
  16. I would never sign up to be the heat shield between the devs and the community, that's for sure. But I think why many people are disappointed with the rotating roster of CM's over SWTOR's history is that any sort of dev communication has been sparse at best. When she herself listed her own job duties, it was mostly attempting to precis the forums for the devs. That's not community management, that's community reporting.
  17. I appreciate it! Keep it coming. You tried to front, you failed, but you can still keep helping by raising visibility!
  18. So when people say it seems like devs don't play their own game, it's because they don't play their own game. That is in no sense surprising. Most people when they clock off, don't spend a lot of time doing what they just had been. The issue isn't that the devs code and the players play. The issue is that the players play and understand the player experience, so when devs are coding, they need to be coding to fix the player issues, and not their own pet projects. Devs are obsessed with their own little pet projects, instead of listening to what the players actually are telling them are the issues with games.
  19. You assume I didn't send in a support email. That tracks, since in your original post you rode in here while completely failing to appreciate that our current issue is not the same as the posts you blithely quoted. It is obvious to everyone (probably even you now) that you currently have nothing to contribute, but if you want to dig down and find me a solution, I would (no sarcasm, 100% honest here) be appreciative. Oh, and if it would be helpful to your solution search, I removed Bit Raider ages ago. Otherwise, please keep posting responses since it will help keep this bumped. Thanks!
  20. Most of those recent posts are related to being stuck at the LOADING SCREEN. And the "launcher stuck" post indicates it solves the following issues: Players are unable to close the system alert when logging into the game The launcher is looping Players are seeing a Host_windowLoadtimeout error message Players are seeing a game version mismatch error None of which are the same as being stuck at a certain download value and not progressing. I appreciate you riding in on your house for Biosword, but unless you have an actual solution, kindly leave it to the professionals. Thanks!
  21. I have the same issue. Posted about it yesterday, no acknowledgement from Biosword.
  22. Stuck with 67.62mb left. Re-starting doesn't help. Anyone else encounter this? I use the normal (non-steam) client.
  23. GSF has a high barrier to entry, so it is particularly sensitive to player attrition. MMOs, as a rule, also trend towards decreasing players as they age. These two factors combined are already not great. But compounding the issue is the GSF experience right now is being heavily impacted by the overall low quality of games, thanks in large part to premades, afker/suiciders and the poor matchmaker. It's also a dead-end system that hasn't been integrated into the rest of the game very well, doesn't receive any content updates (aside from incredibly infrequent stat tweaks) and hasn't had any new rewards in years.
