  1. A single potential fix would be that colliding with an object does damage, but will not kill you . . ever. So it'll bring you down to 1 hp for the ship, but it's the enemy that needs to finally kill you. Maybe only implemented in TDM and keep domination as is (as they tend to afk in those). I'm not saying it's the greatest fix or if it would be easy/difficult to code and implement, but would help both problems of newbies crashing into things (and vets too ) and mitigating the impact of suicidal maniacs on your team.
  2. Couple things about the UI: Can't say I like the inventory window being 8 columns / 10 rows. Having a taller inventory window makes it difficult to stack windows (i.e. cargo / legacy / vendor windows) for item movement. (play in 1920x1080 if that matters). One thing driving me nuts on live and PTR, the linked tooltip for an item linked in chat is currently set to default placement below the chat window. I like my chat window in the bottom right corner. Currently if I click a linked item in the most recent line in chat, the pop up displays below my screen, and can't be closed (or another link clickable) correctable only by a game restart. Please have the box location editable in the UI editor or selection on the chat settings where it should hook (top left corner, top middle, bottom right, etc).
  3. I don't think so. Played Ultima Online back in '96. Was one of several "Sephiroth"s running around the world, and was often associated with an infamous one. Unique naming is predominantly and condescend to WoW, not mmorpgs in general. If a new player creates their character, spends time actually perfecting the look with a name in mind; then proceeds to check if the name they've selected. You bet they're disheartened if it was taken. We've all been there in SWtOR and WoW, a simple QOL change to fix. Isn't that the purpose of this thread? Yes there are others QOL changes to be made, but after server merge after server merge from the start, this one is the one I selected.
  4. GW2 added a series of hidden numbers after the name, something a player chooses to see or not. Aries.0001, Aries.0002. Interface setting "hide player id numbers" or something to that effect. And you normally don't have reason to send mail in game to another player that isn't one of yours, a guildmate, a party member, or an ops member other than to spam real world credit sales. Seriously consider that, I haven't send one in 9 years of playing. If fact, there is a warning not to do so, I believe.
  5. Didn't read the whole thread, so I don't know if this has been mentioned; but one issue still presses me today since launch. I want to name my toons whatever I want (provided they meet naming current naming restrictions). If there's a duplicate name out there, so be it. Enough with the stupid symbols, uncanny names, and other related naming issues from server merges etc. Been here since the start and I would think that a new player that cannot name their toon what they want would be an instant major turn off of the game. Please address this.
  6. I run 2 980 GTXs in SLI and SWtoR doesn't like them much either. This game is a single thread CPU heavy game as well. If you've recently had a graphics driver update by NVidia and performed a "clean" installation, this resets all customizations you've made. There is no reason to have your game's FPS well above your monitor's refresh rate. (i.e. 60Hz monitor, slightly above 60 FPS is ideal.) You can see swtor's fps by hitting ctrl, shift, F all at once in game. Usually your card will push its max FPS based on your graphics options in swtor, especially after a "clean installation" of a new NVidia graphics driver. I found my card's were pushing +200fps on a 60hz monitor, which was ridiculous, cooking my cards for no reason. The frame limit option in game doesn't work for me (unsure it works at all), I had to force swtor to limit it's FPS using NVidia Control Panel > Manage 3D settings > Program Settings Tab > Select SWtoR > Max Frames set to 80-90. Vertical Sync doesn't seem to work for me either. Also, since I was using EVGA's super clocked 980GTXs in SLI, swtor doesn't seem to like max boost clocks for the GPU, so I run them in debug mode again using NVidia's Control Panel > Help > Debug Mode checked. This stopped all Nvidia driver crashes in SLI. If debug mode isn't present, your GPU clocks aren't boosted, so don't worry about it. I am no computer guru, but I researched all these options and these seemed to fix all my graphics problems and crashes, hope they fix yours.
  7. My overall focus was to level 16 toons all 8 advanced classes on both the republic and empire over the past 5 years. This event continues to be a slap in the face to all beta / launch veteran players regardless of your character slot increase. 16 toons is enough. As a result of your decision I have no plans to re-subscribe.
  8. Well said OP, just finished my 16th toon and cancelling my sub, in the EXACT same boat. If Bioware only wants to cater to new players, that's fine, just bye . . .
  9. They're not gone, they're requirements are wrong. For some reason all wieldable rainbow gem / mytag crystal offhands were bumped up to 61 in 4.1 / 4.1a when in fact they should be 51. Confirmed bug.
  10. I can't believe that with each patch, the amount of game systems getting broken. That known issues are getting incrementally worse with each patch; with little or no fixes for prior releases. What the hell are you doing about it Bioware?
  11. No, Absolutely NOT. Are you insane? Bioware has dumbed down this game for the "low skill" that "medium / high skill" people are leaving. Myself included. If you want this, go play GW2 for a month, and then come say this. Its like converting Chess into Checkers, and chess players don't play checkers. If you want to play Chess, Learn To Play Chess,
  12. Then why add them in the first place? The player will almost certainly run with the highest influence companion every time. The initial companions per class were fine and fun to level since you would unlock a mission with actual story with them. Some you loved, some you hated. KotFE companions have very little story, you blow up a Star Fortress with them or do a few grind quests to unlock them only to begin a huge gift clicking grind fest. Yay. I hate em all.
  13. Hey Eric, While your swinging that nerf bat around, why don't you nerf the companion influence grind? 250,000 is absolutely ridiculous. We're talking 1hr+ of play time to click hundreds Lvl 1 & Lvl 2 green gifts, followed by farming 3K+ of common data crystals to achieve influence level 50; per companion. Alts? forget it, you get the message. I simply don't have time for this crap. This companion influence grind should have been legacy wide, that I've heard from countless people on my server. Nerf the crafting crit, mission efficiency, and or healing / power abilities, I care not. Thank god Battlefront 2015 releases at midnight tonight, specially if I don't approve of 4.0.2.
  14. LoL, I'm done posting. Thanks Kaos for correctly my idiocy. /Thread.
  15. Thanks for Pointing that out, had a few . . Fury, Rage, Hate, its all the same as Maraduader . Fury was replaced with a single Destruction buff no? Shouldn't all 3 hits of Ravage generate Destruction?
