Log file below spoilers. I went and removed the ramdisk and settings, then started over from scratch. Seems like every time I use this new version, it doesnt save ANY of my ingame settings at all. It full screens the game, I have to watch the intro and all of my user prefs in game are reset upon running the game 'unleashed'. Happens every time. Thats the initial setup log. Any help would rock hardcore.

Loaded up the game using the newest version of Unleashed, but still having the issue of the interface editor not saving properly. Still gives me that 'unable to save interface' message - saw that you addressed it because of some link not being created properly - but obviously, I would like that fixed, or some sort of solution outside of 'dont put the local SWTOR into the ram disk'. Anyways, great program, though Im not a big fan of the new UI. Seems...bland and overly large. Just my 2 creds.

Youre wrong. Their goal was to promote the use of the Legacy system and to get players actively involved in it. Something which you havent done (by raising a number of alts). By failing to be a part of the legacy subsystem - WHICH ISNT BAD - you dont deserve the free month of game time - TARGETTED SPECIFICALLY TOWARDS THOSE PEOPLE. The getting people back is something EVERY MMO DOES - and if you unsubbed and resubbed, all you get is the ingame pet, nothing more. Thats the whole point - they are rewarding active and concurrent gameplay. They are rewarding people who sat down and put time and effort into ONE CENTRAL IDEA (a character to 50, OR getting Legacy6). You have not done that. Thats all there is to it. They can do whatever they want to do, because people like me, who arent as easily pissed off about not getting a free whatever for whatever reason, wont stop playing because of it. No, Ill stop playing when I get BORED of the game or when I feel theres nothing left to do.

Then you dont deserve the free month because you havent actively played through ONE storyline yet. Thats not asking a lot. Youre an alt-aholic - I get it, I do. I have a few alts myself. But even ONE character at lvl 30 plus alts on a server would probably be enough to get to legacy6. If you switch around and create new characters here and there, you are DEFINITELY playing YOUR way - which is FINE. Thats the way you want to play, thats FINE and you arent being PUNISHED for it. But you wont be able to reap the rewards of people who have put time and effort into ONE character or a MULTITUDE of characters. Like I said, I know my /played time for all of my characters and if youve got that many - you arent really focused on what the Legacy system was all about in the first place. And if you arent focused on Legacy, why should you get the free month?

This line ALONE shows that they are actively changing and altering content to fit the needs of their customer base - something Im happy they are working towards - but that DOES NOT MEAN they should have to change EVERYTHING because SOMEONE finds something OFFENSIVE about it. I think you might be finding 'offense' in something just to find offense to it. Just like people who complain that there arent any of ______ in a video game, and therefore, its racist/colorist/alienist/etc. Theres a point where 'offensive' and 'nitpicking' meet. I absolutely LOVE it when people bring up this point. Heres my retort. Just because I agree with what youre going for, DOES NOT MEAN, I agree with the way you are presenting it, OR agree that it should be addressed and changed. FOR INSTANCE - Im all for equal rights of color/race/whateverhaveyou, but some 'groups' go about their cry for equality the wrong way, or demand changes that would encroach on others. I may AGREE with you, but I definitely dont feel this is an issue that should be fixed immediately or even remotely close to soon. There are a number of things this game needs to fix BEFORE it even BEGINS to come CLOSE to the 'APPARENTLY BLATANT SEXISM' thats in it. Once again, just because I agree with you, DOES NOT MEAN, I agree with your demands. This supposed 'easy fix' youre asking is a bit harder than flipping a toggle switch that says 'this item can only be equipped by [x]females [ ] males'. Oh lemee just add the X here and BAM. Nope. Not the way it works. Sexism is NOT a social norm, and I dont think people understand that. By bringing up these, honestly, what are nitpicking ideas of what SHOULD be changed, youre forcing the idea to come to light that things are not equal. Having males not be able to wear a particular in game item is not offensive in any way shape or form UNLESS YOU HAPPEN TO BE OFFENDED BY IT. I honestly dont care what my in game character looks like (and yes, my main is a female sith jugg), but does that make me UNSYMPATHETIC to your ideals? Nope. I get the conversation thing - I totally do. Hell, when I first started playing, I nearly fell in LOVE with Vette as a character and wished my Sith Jugg could engage in a romantic relationship with her. She cant because, well, there are no homosexual romances yet in SWTOR. Am I OFFENDED???? Not one bit because I know the limitations of a MMO and what CAN and CANNOT be pushed into existence. Now, the wonderful thing here is that BW came out and said 'we are working towards that' - which is AWESOME. It means they are listening. But dont expect every little thing that peeves you about a female in game character model or the clothes they wear to be changed simply because 'it offends' you. If you are so EASILY offended by this - I REALLY REALLY REALLY hope you dont watch TV, or play other video games.

Then if you cant actively play the game - what makes you think you DESERVE or are ENTITLED to the free month? 6 months is PLENTY of time to get to level50, MUCH LESS legacy6. My personal push to 50 was approx 144hours (6 days). Lets say youve been subbed for 6 months. 144/6 = 24. Thats 24 hours a MONTH. Lets just say youve got a job, and school/family, meaning you can only play at nights and possibly weekends. 24/4 = 6. 6 hours a week. So, you can break it down to 1hour per night, and STILL be ahead. Or, you could do 2 hours every few nights. Or hey! Maybe 3 hours on sat/sun. And in 6 MONTHS of game youd have ONE level 50. But I know it cant all work out that way. But what I DO know - is that if you CANNOT afford the TIME to play actively in an MMO - why should you get a free gift compared to others who have put forth a LOT of time in the game? Those requirements (legacy6 or lvl50) are SMALL. VERY VERY SMALL and EASILY obtainable, even to CASUAL MMO gamers. If you meet the goal - great! If not, no worries. You arent OUT anything. You havent LOST anything. You arent being FORCED to play this particular way. But by playing your OWN way and doing your OWN thing, you are NOT ENTITLED to free stuff that Big Daddy BioWare distributes out of the goodness of their huge company heart. If this is still hard to understand, lets put it this way (in this analogy - Jimmy is the casual MMO player that likes to relax and do things at his own pace, and Johnny is the active MMO player that groups and wants to experience new content and is constantly trying to do new things in the game) Johnny and Jimmy work for a company that gives a base pay + commission. Jimmy barely meets his goals - sells, but doesnt really sell a lot. Johnny constantly meets his goals - sells so much, in fact, that he gets commissions and bonus's Jimmy wont be FIRED for selling the way he wants - but hes not REWARDED either. Johnny on the other hand, will be rewarded, because thats what the company wants. I honestly dont think I can make this any clearer. Those who have gotten the free month MAY or MAY NOT DESERVE IT - but NO ONE IS ENTITLED TO IT.

Last I saw they expanded it AGAIN to include those who have been subbed since the beginning, but for the life of me, I cant find the post. HOWEVER. In reality - Legacy lvl6 OR ONE lvl50 isnt hard if youve been subbed for over a month. Heck, Ive been subbed for LESS than one month and I meet BOTH of those reqs. And IF youve been subbed since release - well, then you should have at LEAST legacy6 by now. I cannot see how you could be 'actively playing and furthering your character' and not have that.

Or they could just be sticking by social norms, which, honestly, would be the easiest way to NOT get sued by someone getting 'offended' because their male character has a speedo on and it is a 'bit too revealing'. I think you gals are looking WAYYYY too far into this. Just because something isnt 'all-inclusive' to ALL genders/races/colors/etc DOES NOT MEAN its OFFENSIVE to those people. Just because my guy characters cant wear a dress does not mean I should jump up and go to war over it. It IS a video game, and you have to understand that if they HAD to include EVERYTHING to make EVERYONE happy - you would NEVER have a game to play in the first place. You want equality of in-game models/gear/appearance? Im totally for it. You want males running around in speedos because 'female characters have the option, why shouldnt males?' - that seems a bit petty and overboard. And this is coming from a guy who thinks the male crew members on Star Trek TNG seasons 1-2 wearing the 'skirt' uniform was a good idea. Im all for equality and less 'sexism' in video games - but a lot of what people consider 'sexist' is, in reality 'social norms' and should in no way be reconstructed because SOMEONE or SOME GROUP is unhappy. Like I said, you cant please EVERYONE, or youd NEVER STOP PLEASING.

People are 'disappointed', like you say, because they feel ENTITLED. Not because they actually DESERVE it. I, PERSONALLY, do not deserve the 30 days - because I have been playing for about a month now. There are other people that DIDNT get it, but with the rewording and expansion on the original clause, NOW DO. So. If you dont fit into either a) got it by having a lvl50 (b) Have an account with Legacy lvl7 unlocked OR © Been subscribed since release... What have you been doing with the game. And can you HONESTLY count is as 'playing' a MMO? Or are you using it as a single player KOTR adventure x-pac? To which, if you reply yes, then you do not deserve the free month. With the rewording and expansion on the original clause, this is BASICALLY ALL-INCLUSIVE. I would go out on a limb and say that you LITERALLY HAVE TO AVOID PLAYING THE GAME to not have AT LEAST ONE OF THOSE REQUIREMENTS MET.

The only thing I have to say about this is - Youre correct. Everything here is correct. But just because you pay for a game does not entitle you to a free month - which is what this thread is about. Not about the state of SWTOR. Because, frankly, I AGREE with you. This game is bug infested, incomplete, and very much so needs a LOT of fixes to get where it needs to be. With that said, however, it is playable (for the most part). I can log in, I can play the game, and I can do the things I want to do (for the most part). Though, Ive highlighted the important parts of what you said. Hopefully people will keep that in mind when they come to complain about how they didnt get their free cookie.
