  1. Regarding your first sentence, this is not what I said, but I am also not surprised by someone like you twisting someone else's words. In fact, I rarely get aggravated while playing, cause I am a very patient and chill person. It doesn't mean I embrace the toxicity or that I want to be exposed to it. If you don't agree that there is a pretty significant amount of toxic players in the NiM community, then you are just ignoring the truth. I have zero tolerance with toxicity when playing a game, because I play to relax and have fun. And while doing the hardest content is very interesting, and I have had the most fun when doing Gods and Dxun HM or DF/DP NiM, I have also had the worst experiences during the latter. Your logic for augments is unfortunately nonsensical. If the players that can get their hands on the mats needed for augments are the ones that will have to farm NiM operations for months, then they don't really need the augments, do they? The players that are mostly in need of the highest tier augments are the ones that make the transition from HM to NiM. But you are right about one thing. I won't get the new tier of augments and I personally don't need them, nor is it a big problem for me. I parse 22k and I do about the same on single target non level synced fights, so I couldn't care less. This doesn't prevent me from expressing an opinion about the game, and my opinion is that if a game caters to a very specific crowd, opposite of what it has been advertising for years, then that is a horrible development for the game. You can disagree if you want of course, and that's fine. You can't invalidate other people's opinions with your elitism though.
  2. Some of us are doing HM content and some NiM content, but we actually avoid the latter, because of players like you and their toxicity. You need to realize that you are adding to the problem, not to its solution.
  3. Well, first of all, I find the word "friends" in the initial greeting quite misleading. Second, last time I checked it is the 18th of September, not the 1st of April. This is is literally the worst thing I have ever read in terms of Dev announcements, and I have been playing this game since 8 years ago so it's not like there wasn't competition.
  4. Not sure if you are referring to the Conquest Tab on the Missions Menu, but that one is a GREAT feature. To have the green line blinking and show you at what point you will go by completing each of the objectives on the list. If you are talking about the pop-up that pops up in the middle of your screen when you complete a conquest objective, that is a little annoying indeed. Please do not remove the blinking green light from the Conquest Menu. There is nothing bugged about that one.
  5. Before you post inaccurate responses in this thread, try to look up the word "optimized" in any legit dictionary. It means the best possible. After 5.10, the best possible gear build that one can get for a DPS or a tank, requires at least 3 months of grinding for a single toon, and an expected value of at least 10 pieces of gear going down the drain, because of RNG rewars for the Ossus Weekly. You cannot defend this. Grinding is fun only if it has warranted rewards. Grinding that will result in 40-50% of your rewards being disintegrated for unassembled components, is objectively a horrific aspect of the game right now, and is unjustifiable. All of this, is partially because of the slot specific enhancements and mods. If you cannot understand this, it is user error, aka you fail to comprehend simple math and statistics.
  6. As I said, you obviously do not know how to build a maximum DPS or heals set, with the pieces available to you in this game. If you knew, you would realize that you need a specific combination of pieces and augments to build one, based on the minimum Accuracy and Alacrity necessary, and then stacking on Critical Rating and Power. This, cannot be obtained with the new 252/258 gear at the moment, unless you are willing to run the weekly more than 30 times, so that you can get the piece that will give you the perfect build. So, as I said, you cannot have an optimized set of gear for another 5 months on a single toon. Since you can run the weekly once per week on Ossus, that means 30 weeks of grinding for ONE set of gear. This is done for a purpose, and the purpose is to justify lack of content from now to the summer.
  7. You obviously do not know how to optimize your character for maximum DPS or heals or best tanking. Because with these limitations, this is almost impossible to do for months to go. There is nothing challenging or fun about having to discard more than 50% of the gear you get via RNG crates, especially when you can only get one piece of gear every week.
  8. There are numerous reddit posts about SWTOR builds (a high alacrity or a low alacrity build) with respect to the GCD, one of which is the following: You will find that the magic number is actually not even 1859, but it is 1857. This is confirmed on all of my DPS toons that have reached that number (the minimum that I have on a couple of toons is 1858), which are able to parse much higher as soon as they reach that sweet spot, due to the fact that the APM increased dramatically. So at least for DPS builds, the ideal build would be 5 Alacrity enhancements at 258 item rating, and 6 augments at 240 item rating. Hello Eric, The slot specific mods and enhancements adds insult to injury, with this new tear of gear. I understand that the team wants to somehow justify the forthcoming lack of content for what will be another 4-5 months of minimal content added to the game, but at the same time I do not understand at all why you would alienate the player base so badly. Throughout 2017 and 2018, the most important issue that was addressed by the vast majority of the players, was the RNG way to acquire gear, with the Galactic Command system and the Command Crates. How is it even possible for you to go back to the RNG system to gear, with the Artifact Lockboxes, after this whole mess last year? So far I have completed the Ossus Weekly 11 times across various toons: - I have received 2 Accuracy implants across 2 toons, for which I have no use - I have received a Boundless Ages relic on 1 toon, that is utterly useless - I have received Gloves with 1 Accuracy enhancement, which is also useless - I have received 2 Bracers with the same toon - I cannot use Masterwork Crystals to upgrade a 252 implant or relic to a different relic of my choice (either at item 252 or 258), therefore all these pieces are wasted time and effort. This means that 44% of the gear I acquired was completely and utterly useless and worthless to me. Do you think that players have fun when they open an Artifact Lockbox and get something worthless? You have been told hundreds of times to eliminate the RNG factor from gearing, and yet, you go back to it. Adding slot specific mods and enhancements in the mix, this is just outrageous. It means that I will have to choose perhaps even 10 Artifact Lockboxes, just to get the left side of my character optimized (IMPLANTS + RELICS + EAR), if not even more than that, because I cannot modify the other enhancements on my character. This is literally a malicious move, and I am very disappointed in these changes. The fact that you did not tell players and shadow nerfed the gearing process, does not look good, and it alienates the player base. The only reason that I have not quit this game yet, is because I have a small and dedicated core of guildies that play this game, but I can predict our guild falling apart if this keeps happening. You do not have any respect for the players, and quite honestly, I am wondering if there is someone in Bioware Austin who thinks this is good marketing and good business. Finally, this new gearing process makes all SM and HM ops completely worthless when it comes to gear. What is the point of trying to get 242 or 248 gear, when now a grindfest on Ossus gives you 252 gear? It removes every incentive to run ops at these difficulty levels. If you want people to enjoy and be satisfied with gearing beyond 5.10, you should: - remove slot specific limitations for mods and enhancements - remove the RNG factor from lockboxes, seriously this is OUTRAGEOUS - have vendors that can trade any Implant - Earpiece- Relic with a different kind - add Masterwork crystals as rewards from Ops, even if it's only from HM ops. Respectfully, A customer who is baffled by 5.10, which disrespects the player base to the utmost degree.
  9. You can't do Iokath without ruining your companions menu. End of story. The rest I knew already before you thought you explained it with your wisdom.
  10. It's not the same for reasons I have explained 4 times as of now. Completing the Oricon storyline does not remove your classic companions, and add a bunch of unwanted ones. Iokath does. Therefore, not the same. It is not your fault, but my fault, for actually trying to explain something to someone, when they don't understand because all they see is their point of view. I will be short and simple. I do NOT want all my characters to be the freaking stupid Outlander, with an idiotic Alliance and a bunch of horribly written companions. I want every character of mine to have their own personality, set of companions, titles, etc. The KOTFE & KOTET mess ruined all that. Therefore I am skipping those on as many characters as I can. And by skipping those, I cannot do the Iokath dailies. It doesn't get more simple than that. In fact, I have accepted that. Since a long time. I am just pointing out, that there is NO problem such as this one with the previous storylines in the game, even if they were common for all the classes. Doing SOR, Makeb, Ilum etc, does not ruin your character's personality, their companions, nothing. You can disagree all you want if you wanna keep supporting the storyline that you like so much of course. That doesn't the fact that the previous expansions and storylines were much better planned, organized and executed. I don't want to skip Iokath, and THAT's the problem. It IS different. I know that's life. And I also know it's one of the most important reasons why so many people have abandoned this game. Really now? But I can kill the Gods Of The Machine 100 times, once every week and all the other foes in this game, and complete the exact same dailies every day, but that's perfectly normal and not inconsistent? Going to an area of dailies without completing the story would be the issue? Come on man.... The romance companion gifts do not work once your toon is post-KOTET. This is a bug that has been addressed since 3 years ago, but Bioware does not give a damn about it. THAT is a dealbreaker, yes. It's one more thing that is ruined once you enter the world of Valkorion, like everything else. I beg to differ. Black Hole and Section X are daily areas not connected to story. Also, every daily area, once you complete the storyline does not really make sense at all. Daily areas are designed in MMOs for people to grind them. Yes, they are accompanied by a basic storyline, but when that story comes with a lot of crap, then it becomes a problem. Not for you, but for others. The difference is the following: Oricon, Ilum, Makeb, etc : Do not ruin my gaming experience if I complete the storyline. And they don't ruin it if I don't. KOTFE & KOTET : They ruin my gaming experience if I complete the storyline. I can choose to not initiate any of those or Iokath, and then I am missing out on something. So both options suck. It is extremely simple. You can disagree all you want, and you can play however you want to play, and you can even try repeatedly to convince people that they should play how you play, but that doesn't how many people feel about KOTFE & KOTET and everything that came after it. At least I can still do Umbara, Copero and Nathema, without initiating any storyline. I guess we don't care about how my character happens to be on these worlds then right?
  11. You don't seem to understand, even after 2 times of explaining, so I don't know why I am still trying, but here goes. 1. You CANNOT do Iokath dailies unless you complete the Iokath storyline. Which places your toon after the events of the Valkorion Blues. Which I hate. And no, I cannot go to Iokath on my ship unless I start the mission. It's not there. Unless they changed it in the last 1-2 months, which I highly doubt. 2. I do not want to have a list of 15 companions, including Lana, Theron etc on my Companions menu. I just don't want to. So I CANNOT play the game how I want to. 3. If you accept the KOTET first chapter and use the Companions Locator to get them back , they are not the same as before. The romance option is not working anymore. So that's awful by itself. Plus, your toon is now in a post KOTFE world. Anyway.... this conversation is not going anywhere. The KOTFE KOTET storyline is a mess for a million reasons anyway, and the chapters format is the worst they could have come up with. Linear progression without any open world exploration, mobs that aggro even if you are on a stealth toon, chapters like the one with the mouse droid that make you wanna break your computer, and many more problems. Even the story itself makes little sense for a variety of reasons. The only way to cope with all of that, is to just do Iokath dailies and Odessen stuff on a few toons, and never set foot on any of those planets with my alts. Hoping for a much better storyline in the future, and some kind of option to choose whatever parts of the game and companions you wanna have, without being limited by idiotic choices you have made (or haven't).
  12. Or here's an idea: How about you do whatever you want, aka complete KOTFE and KOTET and do the romance and all the other things that you are interested in, with as many toons as you want, choosing to complete the story with however many toons you want... And at the same time, how about I also have the option to do what I want, meaning that I can skip KOTFE and KOTET, and still have access to Iokath for the dailies (after all it IS a daily area), the Iokath operation without needing someone to summon me, without losing my classic companions, without getting a bunch of companions that I don't care about? Why would that be so hard?
  13. I was responding to a specific post, which was saying that the SWTOR Cantina event could result in the same amount of deaths as the Las Vegas incident. That's the probability I meant. If there was a mass shooting event at a SWTOR cantina, it would most definitely NOT be anything like the Las Vegas concert shooting. I am not faulting any company for anything. I do find valid reason though to the person a few posts above, that said this is probably not just related to safety protocols.
  14. The USA are actually very high on the murder per capita ranking, at 87th highest out of 219 countries.. So that's actually completely inaccurate. There are literally more than 140 countries in the world that have fewer murders per person than the US, including all European countries except from Russia and Ukraine. Out of the other 84 countries that have a higher murder rate than the US: 3 of them are in Oceania (Tuvalu, Kiribati, Papua Nea-Guinea) with the first two being statistical outliers 6 are in Asia (Phillipines, Yemen, Laos, Iraq, Afghanistan, Mongolia) 42 are in the Central and South America region 33 are in Africa Most of these regions are regions that have been plagued by poverty, slavery and/or human exploitation. So the US is practically 4th in murder rate, in the so called first world, just behind Russia, Ukraine and Mexico.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_intentional_homicide_rate
  15. Nah, the possibility of something like that happening at a small bar in NYC is literally equal to zero. The guy that did the Las Vegas shooting had 2 bags of weapons in a room at a hotel across from the concert, and was firing at people for about 2 minutes straight with semi-automatics. I happen to live in NYC, and I know that every concert, every sports event, every bar, every public place which amasses a significant amount of people, is checked thoroughly for any kind of danger. There are literally hundreds of cops in the area, which will have an increased security during this days because the SWTOR cantina always coincides with the ComiCon. In other words, the event would have taken place in the most well guarded area of NYC, and there would be rigorous control at the entrance, especially since we have had many unfortunate events over the last 2 years. When there's a will, there's a way. In any case... people are crazy. I cannot even believe we are talking about massive killings at gaming events. Growing up, I only saw those things at a cyberpunk futuristic movie like Robocop or Total Recall. The world has gone crazy. That piece of **** killed people because he lost at a freaking video game at the Madden event. And other people call the SWAT teams over stuff like that. PS. Since I see you guys talking about percentages etc.... all of the fears that are mentioned in this thread are far less likely to happen than getting killed in a car accident. So if you are scared to breathe, then just stay home and don't go anywhere. Amazon, Fresh Direct, Seamless, working online, and you are set for life. Don't forget to wear a plastic bubble too.
  16. Or.... if a player cannot complete a certain type of content because they're just not good enough, then they are happy that it's broken for others, because that means they can't complete it either, for the time being.
  17. Neither was launching an unfinished game with a huge amounts of bugs, the Ilum open world pvp fiasco, losing so many subscribers that they had to merge from 100 servers down to less than half (and now having only 5...), launching Shadow Of Revan with a bugged storyline and then leaving for Christmas vacation for 3 weeks without fixing it and barely addressing it, not releasing Operations for 3.5 years after they had literally claimed "never again a year between operations", launching two expansions in a row with an extremely limited multiplayer aspect, and constantly delaying patches, expansions, fixes, etc..... but hey, all these happened. On topic, I have completed every op in HM (excluding GOTM) but I am not a Nightmare Mode raider, with the exception of a few bosses for achievements. So... why would I care for Tier 5 gear? I don't need it for anything really. And that's why I don't craft the super overpriced and ridiculously hard to attain level 240 augments. Which by the way, are almost the same thing as the 236 augments. On the other hand..... why would a NiM raider be the target audience for Tier 5 gear?? How completely pointless would it be for the rewards that can give you Tier 5 gear (mats, schematics) to be given to the people that are actually the only ones that don't need them, since they have cleared all the stuff already?! Bioware has been getting it wrong for years when it comes to gear. The Galactic Command system was the worst way to get gear when it was launched, but at least now it's an alternative source of gear, on top of Operations. If you can only get Tier 5 gear via completing NiM content, then they negate everything they have done to gearing since 2015.
  18. I agree on all of these things, but I would still not compare a SWTOR cantina event with the magnitude of an Ariana Grande concert, the Las Vegas concert or even the Orlando nightclub shooting. If you have a crowd of 20000 people (or more) the risk is just automatically higher. The SWTOR cantina event would accommodate 100 people, maaaybe 200. I think it's better that they canceled it, because better safe than sorry.... I am just thinking that it shouldn't be extremely difficult to take all necessary precautions.
  19. You can, but that takes your toon in a post-KOTFEKOTET status, where you lose all the companions. Yes, exactly, which basically prevents you from doing the Traitor story arc. My bad, I didn't phrase it correctly. Yes, you can do the 3 traitor storyline Flashpoints, but without context. Which is actually perfectly fine, it was pretty nice to be able to access content even with toons that have not (and never will) do KOTFE/KOTET. When it comes to companions, which is my main problem with the whole mess.... here's what I am thinking. The fact that YOU are fine with losing some of the companions doesn't make it a good design. Being forced to get a bunch of flat uninteresting storyless companions because you started a storyline, while losing your classic 5 companions, is just awful. Which was not a problem with the previous story arcs. Hence why I think everything pre-5.0 was designed much better. You could do any or all of the Makeb, Oricon, Ilum, CZ-198, Rishi+Yavin+Ziost storylines independently, without any consequences to any part of the game whatsoever.
  20. Also, Florence is in Italy. Though there are 25 cities or towns named Florence in the US, but I doubt many people know about them.
  21. There is a main difference. If you complete the vanilla storyline for a character, gather all companions, your ship, your titles, your established background, you can choose to do Ilum, Makeb, Oricon, Rishi, Yavin, Ziost, and you are not missing out on anything if you choose not to do those. In fact, I have completed Oricon, Rishi, Yavin, Ziost with almost all of my characters, since these planets and storylines have a high replay value, but I usually skip Makeb and Ilum. Plus, you don't even have to pick up the Makeb or Ilum storylines. They are optional. But, skipping KOTFE/KOTET removes the option for you to do Iokath, Umbara, Copero, Nathema, and of course stuff like The Eternal Championship. The problem is that if you do NOT skip KOTFE/KOTET and actually go ahead with it, you will lose all your original companions (some of which you will not get back), you will get a new Alliance with 25 companions (that I don't personally care for) plus all the Alliance alerts and missions on your log that I don't care for either. So while Makeb, Oricon etc are not a nuisance in any possible way, KOTFE and KOTET completely ruin it for me.
  22. Good for you, but running OPs is a very important part of the game, and actually, at this point, it's what keeps many guilds and players still in the game. After people that have played the game for years have completed all story content, there's not much left to do, and challenging yourself to do them is the most fun you can get. So yes, there was an issue that absolutely needed fixing. I personally know 2 people that just got tired of things not working in the game and quit it. They were thinking about it for some time because of lack of new content, and now they did it. Trust me, they are not the only ones.
  23. The hate that some of the KOTFE/KOTET characters has nothing to do with that. It has to do with the fact that the vast majority of the original 40 companions of the 8 classes had an interesting backstory, an incentive to join their character in their adventures, and a complete personality with many lines and side quests that you actually kind of had to complete. I love Lana Beniko, and I definitely think the main characters of the Valkorion Blues are very interesting (Vaylin, Arcann, Senya) but I can't stand Koth or Theron Shan. They are flat, boring, without depth and even an annoying cliche attitude. I guess they somewhat managed to make Theron more interesting, after giving him a storyline for 3 Flashpoints and a daily area. But Koth? Most definitely the least used companion for me. Apologies for the off topic. On topic, I totally see what the issue is. I generally don't notice those things because I really don't care about the romance options in this game, but this is just me. I think I only cared about Kira.
  24. Across my 28 toons, I started the KOTFE/KOTET storyline on 8 of those, and I have only finished it with 2 so far. I wish I had never started it with any, to be honest. Or maybe just with some forgotten alts that I don't play with. I do not intend to start that storyline AT ALL with the rest of my 20 toons, and I don't see myself finishing the 6 I have already left unfinished. If anything, I strongly disagree with NOT skipping KOTFE/KOTET.
  25. Maybe all the people that would have gone should arrange a SWTOR meeting anyway. It will be super awkward and lame and probably a complete failure, but also kinda cool. And I would love to see that Brontes costume, that sounds like a lot of work for something that is not happening
