I might be getting ahead of myself, but I hope this means we get another free month. EA's Q3 report is due early Feb so it's not outside the realm of possibility. I'm not willing to resub with the current state of the game, but I'd definitely continue playing for another (free) month while looking forward to the upcoming patches. A second month included with the original game purchase would be a great way to both acknowledge problems that should have been fixed for launch as well as intent to meaningfully address said issues, keeping potential subscribers on board.

I've unsubscribed. I'll be back when the main issues are fixed. Ability delay, low quality textures, static UI, etc. Until then this is just not worth another $15, let alone the $80 I've already spent.

Someone earlier compared this to FFXIV, for different reasons, but I think it's apt in that like Square, EA/BioWare is trying to defend a game that seems to have been released before it was finished. Many promises are made for future fixes/plans, but in the end people would not pay a monthly fee for something incomplete, as in paying to beta.

I can see the low quality of the texture, but I'll say its a lot less apparent with mostly white armor. It's the contrast between colors that really shows the compression.

It could mean anything that the devteam considers an improvement to graphical quality. Versus something more direct, as in 'making the cutscene texture quality available in the rest of the game.'

Yep. Regardless of the user's level of knowledge, or the complexity of your system, there should never exist a feeling of 'conspiracy theory'. If it does, there is a failure somewhere, and it's IT's fault, either technical or the management of user expectations.

Agreed. I also work in IT, in many cases to fix situations with existing IT staff. If users have a 'conspiracy theory' feeling, it's because you're clearly not telling them the whole truth, or in simpler terms treating them like children. It's one of the worst (and most common) bad habits you can get in IT, holding back the truth to protect the subpar job you're doing.

When giving timeframes, if you give a date as vague as an entire quarter, at least make sure that isn't the very same quarter you're currently in. As in, within 3 months they should be able to give us something more tangible. Otherwise it just seems like PR spin.

It can get confusing but remote doesn't necessarily mean over the internet, it could be a locally hosted server, which some suspect is the purpose of the second swtor.exe process. Also with caching there wouldn't necessarily be an immediate blackout or disconnect.

I think they need to give a better response before even then. USA prime time hasn't hit yet, and then there's EU prime time after that.
