  1. Agreed. Like i said i don't like GSF. It was disappointing i did not get credit. If i got credit i may just tried to force my self through the content on that one toon at least.
  2. Dangling a carrot on a stick for gear in game modes that people are not interested in playing is not cool. Sure you can not do that weekly if you don't like it, I am sure the general population would like a choice in how they get there crystals/new gear. If i am a betting man Bioware will make more ways to get crystals in the coming weeks. Then weeks after that make it easier to get more again. So same thing every 6 months. 1. New gear, long grind, with stuff some people don't want participate in. This is to make people play game modes they normally don't play and to have more 'pops'. RESULT: Community complains. 2. 1 month later, make it easier to get components for new gear. RESULT: Community praises Bioware for there good job 3. 1 month later again. Still more complaints about slow grind. Bioware makes it easier again to get components. RESULT: Community praises Bioware for there good job 4. Repeat steps 2-3 until people complain about no content. 5. Next step...... Roadmap when people complain about no new content. 6. Long wait, plenty of promises from Bioware and advertising. 7. Eventually new content comes with new grind. Start at no. 1 again. 8. Rinse and repeat all of this until the contract cannot be renewed.
  3. I am sure some people like GSF. I am not one of those people and would rather miss out. Saying that i played and won a match, no credit. Everyone has different parts of this game they like to play. PVE content/PVP matches or GSF. Why not make the weekly a choice from the player in how they would like to obtain the crystal? No one likes to be forced into content to get better gear. Saying that, i do have a choice. This week GSF, i do not like the content. So i will not get the weekly. Rather disappointing though. To sum it up.............. The player's need a choice in how they would like to get this crystal. The same as the world boss vs pvp weekly. EDIT: you don't need better gear than 248 unless you are running NiM ops or ranked pvp. But you have a carrot on a stick..........
  4. I am sure you still don't understand how gearing work. Seems like you are rather new to the game. The last couple of post sums everything up. If you on the Satele Shan server, let me know and i can help you in game. I will even give you a few mil credits to setup your gear, since i am such a nice bloke. We all need to start somewhere, but for me when i first started playing (many years ago) i made many mistakes with gearing and wasted a tonne of credits. It took some help for fellow guild members and some google'ing to understand what to do. EDIT:--------------------------- Regarding the previous post and set bonuses. There is bug sometimes when you remove a set bonus armoring from a shell and put it in another shell (i.e. legacy gear) The set bonus description disappears until you relog/restart the game.
  5. I don't get it? and don't understand your gearing issues. A few things; PVP is bolstered to 252 gear. Technically you should not see much difference until you get 258 gear, but you do need the set bonus. You don't need to augment your cartel Armour. Use a legacy set so you can move armor between characters. So if you want to play space barbie you can use the outfit designer. If you get a new piece of gear remove the mod/enhancement ect then put it in your legacy armor. Its cheap to do. A lot cheaper than spending 100mil on 246 gear. No need to re-augment. You can get gear by just playing the game. 248 rated gear from command crates and also can be bought with comms. Cartel vs other adaptive gear. No difference in stats, it is only what you put in that gear. The shells all have the same armor rating when empty. 252 plus gear. You don't really need it unless you are doing ranked WZ's or nightmare operations. 248 is plenty for all content. 246 is still not bad if you have the set bonus. The cartel market... Cosmetic items only. You can sell them for credits too.
  6. I have now tested all three. WTfast is the most expensive, but seems to provide the the lowest ping and most stable connection. Probably due to the fact they have a Virginia data center. WTFast (auto) - 240-250ms - stable Battleping (Washington DC) - 250-260 - ping is mostly stable some spikes to 280 PingZapper (manual to L.A.) - 245-270 - you are at the mercy the connection from LA to Virginia. I did see some spikes over 300. PingZapper (auto) - 305-315ms - stable I going to stay away form PingZapper. Even though it is the cheapest it does not give me the best results. Battleping is a bit more in cost but the game play seems a lot smoother. So i will see how my trial on WTfast goes. Need to play some ops and PVP and see how the game feels over the next week.
  7. I am in Brisbane. It seems a bit odd that you are getting better ping on the east coast due to the fact the server is further away with a VPN. It might be a case of your ISP not providing the most optimal routing path for swtor. There is always a possibility if you used a VPN before the merge your pings would of been lower. My experience is 180ms give or take was about the best ping you could get in Australia. This is from experience and reports from other players. But since the merge it seems people are getting 60-80ms increase similar to what you have mentioned. Really for me the spikes are the only issue. If i could get down to 220-230ms that would be great, but being in Brisbane the traffic goes to Sydney first then off shore, so adding another 20-30ms. The cost and the payment details for the trial of WTfast put me off as there are cheaper solutions. I guess there is no harm in trying to see if it improves.
  8. I would stay away from WTfast. Too Expensive and there is no free trial unless give them some payment details. Plenty of posts on reddit about them and other services. Battleping is a good option. The trial will only give you 20 min of connection time. I paid for one month as the connection is stable. US dollars. $5.45 30 days $14.95 90 days $27.95 180 days. Before merge i was at 190ms, after 280ms with spikes up to 500. Using Battleping i sit at 250ms and spike to 280. Ping zapper is another one which i am yet to try. 7 day free trial. I will try this when my battleping month runs out. $3.99 30 days $10.47 90 days $17.94 180 days $29.88 360 days Different providers will give you mixed results depending on what routing they provide, your ISP and location. It is a balance of cost vs what works best for you.
  9. You mentioned no crew skill, but that is the easiest way to make money. From my experience the easiest way is just playing the game, doing ops, fp's, pvp, heroic's ect. In-between The longer way (more credits in the long term); Take cybertech, scavenging and slicing. Level cybertech to 600 and farm nodes on Yavin to level scavenging and slicing. Sell all mats that are not grade 10 Level 2 companions to 50 (for the crit bonus) Sell gifts from cxp pack when 2 companions are maxed Run rich slicing missions when you can When at command rank 300 you can RE 246 BIS mod's and enhancements Craft mods and enhancements with mats earned. Keep your eye on the GTN for cheap VMC's and Isotopes Sell all 246 crafted items, any excess grade 10 mats and companion gifts from cxp packs. Within a couple of months you should be making 5-10 mill a week with very little effort. OR The quick and easier way (make money instantly and dont earn as much in the long term); - Take scavenging, slicing and bioanalysis - Farm nodes, mobs when you can - Sell all mats, companion gifts (cxp packs), VMC and Isotopes earned.
  10. Bumping this thread. Loads of good responses. I hope BIOWARE takes notice. If the in game players can see who is spamming this, people can report in game and and that player can get squelched.
  11. This is a DUPLICATE post. I also reported this in the general forums. Some dev really needs to take notice. Bioware/someone needs to take notice. It made me not want to play the game and surely other people feel the same. SERVER: Satele Shan Today i logged on and was trying to get an op group together. For 1 hour i experienced people on fleet bugging out chat. People spamming empty chat. Soon as a line was typed someone would instantly blank the chat. I have no idea how long this went on for either side of my 1 hour of being on fleet. Every time i have logged in over the past couple of weeks this has been non stop. There is a squelch feature in swtor but there is no way to report the player due some bug in the game as you cannot see the players name. Occasionally this would happen on the harbinger and i could deal with it. But every day now in prime time. So after 1 hour of this, i logged off. Really just had enough of this. So no getting together an ops group or anything. SO ERIC/SOMEONE can you please fix this so players can be reported. For me this is ruining my enjoyment of the the game. Surely i am not alone in this frustration.

  13. It must have been a while since you have looked at the vendor. Grade 10 mats have been available from the Jawa's since June. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=9330141#edit9330141
  14. I like this a lot. For ops my thoughts; SM = last boss drops 5 tokens HM = All bosses drop 1 token, last drops 6 NIM = All bosses drop 2 tokens, last drops 12 This would encourage people to stay till the end.
  15. I am happy myself at no more expertise, one set of gear for pvp and pve. In a positive way, the set bonus can be had right now and can be carried to 5.0 until BIS kick's in. I find swapping rolls is no issue atm even without the set bonus for most HM's. Everything i have is in legacy gear so a simple swap to another toon is no issue. Sure there is relics and implants but that is cheap for crafting. 5 mill is nothing atm with inflation of prices and all. Nim stuff might be another issue.
  16. I can see your point on the matter. I would love to get BIS as quick as possible just like 4.0. Run with a great PVE HM group on weekly priority ops then gear quickly. I would question how much of a difference does it make. Average gear (bad RNG) vs BIS. It seems like there are not as many skilled players around vs 3.0. So for skilled players there is not much of a difference vs new players. I would think the issue will be with ranked pvp. Lots of skilled players vs gear. The RNG does come into question then. SWTOR has been too easy too get gear since 4.0, Leading the way for noobs with good gear to do HM ops ect. You could/can do prioty ops (KP/EV) to get BIS 224 gear. The game has made it too easy to get such gear. When 5.0 come anyone can get the gear but they need to work for it. But if you are not skilled in your class it won't have much effect. Many skilled raiders ect have left the game so it wont do anyone much good to get such gear unless they know there stuff. I must say Skill > Gear.
  17. New expansion. Level up to 70 grind some GC points for some gear on one toon. In a couple of weeks get ok/average gear. Because you are skilled at your class you still dominate at PVP/PVE. Over time the RNG gods are in you favor and you get more good **** and dominate more. Skill > Gear. It seems like from some secret spreadsheets on PTS the difference may only be 500 and a bit dps. Second toon grind a bit for a week or so with some legacy gear and all good again. Alts sorted.
  18. You can still move your PVP comms around. Buy a mod for 800 comms and put it in your legacy bank. Then get the refund on the toon you want to move the comms to.
  19. They are really not that hard once you learn the mechanics. On my first run through those FP's my group did wipe a number of times. What got us through the FP was patience, good communication and a quick read up on dulfy of the boss mechanics. They can be done in 208 gear from the vendor providing you have a reasonable understanding of how to gear and play your class. I really hope they don't nerf the HM FP's. Takes all the fun out it. Too much of the game already is EZ mode.
  20. BBB is close to the maximum number of members allowed for 2 out of 3 of the guilds and has a very active player base. 2000+ characters between 3 guilds. I don't understand how it is an exploit wining conquest. Just a dedicated and active player base.
  21. It has been a couple of years since I last played. This was the first time I have experienced it, such a shame if this is the new norm.
  22. As the title says. Not happy about this. Thanks for your kindness Thî????????æ EDIT: Removed link for screenshot.
